I'm not surprised to learn that, and I wouldn't be surprised either if learning the piano wasn't all that hard for him. "Savant" was the word in my mind, when he was about 10 seconds into his audition. Then I stopped thinking and just listened. I must have watched this audition about 80 times by now (not exaggerated, I downloaded it and listen to it regularly, plus I've watched like 20 or so reaction videos), and yet, every time he starts singing, I need to take a deep breath, to keep a clear vision. And the rest of his AGT journey was of the same quality. If you haven't yet ... watch Kodi perform with his sister and brother in Vegas, some epic moments there, too.
He's like a Mozart level savant, perhaps not in the composing area but his ear for music is supergenius level apparently. He can hear a piece of music and reproduce it by ear.

He's a student of my friend!!! Yiyi Ku Piano Studio~ I watch him in lessons sometimes, cos the way he learns is just abs AMAZING!!! 🤯 🤯 🤯 he plays classical music too! (super difficult composers like Rach and Chopin!) he's SOOOO amazing!!! he also has his own YT channel!
