ศูนย์เรียนรู้โลกใต้ทะเลบางแสน : ดำดิ่ง แหวกว่าย ชมความมหัศจรรย์ของโลกสีคราม
ไปกับปลากระเบนเจ้าถิ่น
ว่ากันว่าระบบนิเวศที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก คือ ระบบนิเวศทางทะเล แต่ทว่าปัจจุบันโลกกำลังเผชิญกับวิกฤตของมหาสมุทรที่เกิดขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นปัญหาขยะพลาสติก การทำประมงเกินขนาด รวมไปถึงสภาวะอากาศแปรปรวน ที่ล้วนแล้วแต่ส่งผลกระทบต่อระบบนิเวศทางทะเล
จากปัญหาดังกล่าว นำไปสู่ Big Idea ในการออกแบบประสบการณ์การเรียนรู้ “ศูนย์เรียนรู้โลกใต้ทะเลบางแสน มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา จังหวัดชลบุรี” มันคงดีไม่น้อยถ้าจะทำให้การเดินชมอะควอเรียม (Aquarium) นอกจากผู้ชมจะได้เรียนรู้เรื่องราวระบบนิเวศทางทะเลและรู้จักสัตว์ทะเลเจ้าถิ่นที่มีความสัมพันธ์เชื่อมโยงกันอย่างไรแล้ว ยังสอดแทรกความรู้และการลงมือปฏิบัติเพื่อปลุกจิตสำนึกของการเป็นเจ้าของร่วมกันของโลกสีคราม
ภายในศูนย์การเรียนรู้ฯ ผู้ชมจะได้รับประสบการณ์เสมือนได้ดำดิ่งลงไปยังโลกใต้ทะเล โดยมีเจ้าปลากระเบนแหวกว่ายนำทางไปตั้งแต่ทางเข้าอาคาร ระบบนิเวศชายฝั่ง ไปจนถึงระบบนิเวศทะเลเปิด ผ่านแสง สีย้อมบรรยากาศห้องจัดแสดง และกราฟิกบอร์ดที่เน้นการมีส่วนร่วมในการสอดแทรกสัญญาณอันตรายที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นกับทะเลและสิ่งมีชีวิต เพื่อกระตุ้นให้ผู้ชมเกิดจิตสำนึกรักษ์ทะเลก่อนที่ทุกอย่างจะสายเกินไป...

Bangsaen Aquarium : Diving, Swimming and Exploring the Wonder of the Blue World with Local Stingray
It is known that the largest ecosystem in the world is marine ecosystems. However, today the world is continuously encountering ocean crises including plastic waste, overfishing and climate change which cause serious impacts on the marine ecosystems.
From these issues, a big idea for experience design of “Bangsaen Aquarium, the Institute of Marine Science of Burapha University” was brought forth. It would be really great if in a visit at the Aquarium visitors could not only learn about the marine ecosystem, get to know local marine species and understand their relationship, but also gain knowledge and first-hand experience that stimulate their sense of ownership of the blue world.
Inside the Aquarium, visitors will have an experience of diving into the sea guided by the stingray along the way from the entrance, coastal ecosystems to pelagic ecosystems, passing light and colors tinting the exhibition rooms and interactive graphic boards depicting warning signs of dangers threatening the sea and all creatures to stimulate visitors’ conscious for preserving the sea before it is too late…
