The ONLY PEOPLE AT RISK were those clearing snow. WHERE IS HER HUSBAND OR THE FATHER OF HER CHILD?
A shovel in her closet and SHE could have shoveled her way out. NOT THAT SHE COULD GO ANYWHERE.
*She couldn't call MALE FAMILY MEMBERS to bring shovels and take her someplace with power?*
In the past I have had neighbor's wives shoveling my snow because I am disabled.
After this storm I have had one neighbor blow out the end of the driveway and another plow the driveway.
PERHAPS SHE NEEDS TO MOVE INTO A NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE NEIGHBORS CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER.
OR IN AN APARTMENT BUILDING WHERE SHE ISN'T IN A BASEMENT OR HIGHER THAN THE 2ND FLOOR.
Anyone believe after 8 years without symptoms her son was IN ANY DANGER?
Now those trapped in cars, in boxes or under a bridge THEY were in danger. How many were sent to help all the homeless that were in danger?
What will she do when thanks to Biden, Americans are sending their children and grandchildren to bed COLD & HUNGRY? WILL SHE CALL 911 or
her local Democrat activist for food and power?
How many of our European Allies are already having to choose between HEAT & FOOD? If only Biden hadn't shut down American and most of Canada's oil production.
Cutting use of FERTILIZER might reduce greenhouse gases but what about the millions worldwide who RELY on imported food to eat?

Shame on the property management for not calling back & just saying, “Hey. We got you’re message; you & your son matter. We can’t get the truck through, but we are trying”. Just a friendly hello could make all the difference to people scared & in those conditions. They just ignored them & made them feel like their lives didn’t matter. They were probably calling lawyers & worrying more about lawsuits than whether those people actually lived or not.

I e-mailed all of the residents and within 5 minutes, the phones were ringing off the hook by other residents who wanted to help him. Hello from 🇨🇦! When you open your door and the snow is to the top, you start digging from the very top. It would have been rough to dig a path all the way to the sidewalk but not too difficult to just dig a little clearance in front of their door. Use a bucket if you don't have a shovel in the house. We keep 2 shovels in the house for when we get buried in snow. Put the snow in a garbage can and then dump it in the tub. Repeat. You only need to do this until you've made enough space for you to step outside and start throwing snow overhead. It's important for them to clear a little space in front of the door for ventilation. Also, God forbid, to get outside in case of fire. I hope she gets a shovel for next time.

SHE IS HEALTHY why wasn't she shoveling her way out OR SHOVELING SNOW FOR HER MALE NEIGHBORS?
You want some men who don't know her to risk a heart attack to shovel her snow?
WHERE WAS SHE SUPPOSED TO GO SINCE THE PARKING AND ROADS WERE STILL BLOCKED?
I am disabled and in the past I had neighbors wives shoveling my snow but I lived in this town for most of my life.
After this last storm I had 2 neighbors one blowing the windrow at the end of the driveway and another with a plow.
NOBODY was digging their way through this storm for anything but a REAL emergency.
Women are less likely to have a heart attack than a man so you should be shoveling snow for your male neighbors. YOU ARE EQUAL AREN'T YOU?
She couldn't have called her male relatives to shovel her out and take her and her son somewhere safe since she wasn't prepared to shovel her way out?
You think after 8 years with no symptoms her son was in any danger? If he was she would have a landline and lived near the hospital.
THOSE IN CARS stuck away from a building they were in danger. Can't walk to safety, stay and freeze unless they have a WINTER EMERGENCY BOX.
Boys USED to be taught about these, not those raised by single mothers. How many homeless with NO PHONE, NO WALLS, NO HEAT, NO SLEEPING BAG & NO FOOD
during this storm? How many DIED while women who were SAFE called 911?

I don't live in an area that gets storms like this, but, I'm wondering how 60 people have died in Buffalo. Are they dying from car accidents? I'm sure some have died from hypothermia but were they in their houses, or out in the blizzard trying to get help, and were most elderly?
I've heard about the gal that died of carbon monoxide poisoning from her exhaust pipe being covered in snow.
I know they didn't have power or heat during the storm and probably still don't have power.
I don't know the population of Buffalo NY, but 60 people seems like a lot to me and I don't understand how that can happen!

Suspect those not perishing from preexisting illness (shoveling snow, heart attack, etc.) ignored/underestimated the cold, depth of snow, possibility of impassable roads, need to run the vehicle only 10 minutes per hour for heat, keep exhaust pipe clear, lower car windows for ventilation, emergency supplies for disasters, etc. Possibly no experience with bad weather? Dire lack of planning at a minimum. Experience is a harsh educator, if you survive. We offer condolences to those who survive.

Poor dear, there were many people in terrible situations who ALL needed help at the same time. She and her son were not in imminent danger. Very unpleasant and uncomfortable but not life threatening. They had shelter and blankets. It's awful, people were found frozen to death in snowbanks and vehicles. Did she not have anything to dig a little path? Even just a few feet beyond her door in case of fire? Are she and her 15 year old son both physically disabled and can't do any work like shoveling? A seizure disorder doesn't mean he can't shovel, unless he has other health problems, but I'm sure she would have mentioned those as well. In a crisis everyone has to be prepared to take some responsibility for their families well being and safety. Rescue/clean up crews can't do it all immediately. We get blizzards here but we prepare ourselves for being snowed in and outages. Thankfully, this lady and her son are OK, and hopefully she learned to be prepared for when this happens again.

    • @the4cqueen148
      @the4cqueen148 Рік тому

Wow! You sound so dumb, didn't you hear her say that her son has seizures? The snow was actually covering the entire door of her BASEMENT apartment & when she opened the door the snow fell into the BASEMENT apartment; even the reporter had trouble getting to her door. They had no heat or electricity and you assume that this is not life threatening? Honey, let me send you some money so that you can buy a vowel and a clue. Learn to listen to the entire segment before posting stupid comments. TF.

    • @icouldjustscream
      @icouldjustscream Рік тому +1

@@the4cqueen148 I did listen to the entire segment, did you? You seem hangry, have some 🍲. She said it has been 8 years since her 15 year old son had a seizure. Up to 75% of children who have had seizures when they were very young will no longer have seizures once they are in their teens. This young man has been fortunate and hopefully his neurologist will declare him seizure free very soon. A seizure disorder is frightening but not a death sentence. I have a neurological disorder that causes pain and occasional seizures. Not pleasant but that's life. It's nerve-wracking to be snowed in with no power. Happens up here 🇨🇦 from time to time. I still have to get to work though, no matter what. We keep shovels in the house so we can dig ourselves out. We even keep shovels/sand/blankets/flashlights/extra clothing/candles/ lighters/trailmix/etc, etc, in our vehicle, so if we become stranded we don't freeze to death or suffocate. When you open the door and the snow is to the top (like she indicated) start digging from the top using a shovel, bucket, large bowl, dustpan, whatever you have on hand, that will scoop snow. Place some towels by the door to catch the snow that falls in. Put the snow in a garbage can or garbage bag lined laundry basket, whatever you have on hand to lug snow and dump it in the tub/shower. It will eventually melt when the heat is restored and she can run hot water on it. No one is taking a bath without heat anyway. She only has to do this to clear enough room to step outside. She could carry on and dig a narrow path for a few feet, throwing the snow up and away. Take little breaks and don't overheat. Overheating leads to hypothermia once you start to cool down. "Sweat is death" is a old saying up here. She needed to do just a little digging on her own and not wait to be rescued. What if the building caught fire from fallen candles? At least now they could get out the door. Opening the door occasionally when you're burning candles is necessary for ventilation. "Imminent" means very soon. Like the people outside who died of exposure within a few hours. She and her son hunkered down for 5 days, did their best to keep warm and stayed safe. Not starving or dehydrated, no frostbite, they were OK. Unless she drives a 4×4 with chains, they weren't going anywhere anyway. Maybe you and this lady are originally from a warmer area that doesn't get blizzards and don't know much about winter survival and how such weather paralyzes an entire city. Emergency crews can't help everyone at the same time. People with significant disabilities ♿️ would be prioritized over those who could dig and walk. The elderly/the bedridden, people who would normally have caregivers arrive to their home daily, would need help more urgently than her and her son. People on home oxygen who need their oxygen delivered to them and CAN'T exert themselves to shovel will need help sooner. Those who have the ability to help themselves need to take some responsibility during a crisis. Waiting for someone to shovel for you and then calling the media when you don't get a quick response, knowing other people are in worse situations..... this really didn't need to make the news. Anyway, go back to watching Wheel of Fortune, sweetie.

What is it I'm missing here? oh yeah, brains... like every winter, snow will fall, have your snowboots and a spade ready to shuffle. Or suffer the consequences.
Like every winter before, and every winter after....
No excuse, I grew up in Norway and when I was the age of her boy, I shuffle snow for every neighbor and earned good cash... 2 times a day shuffle if the snow was bad... good cash.
Just a terrible parent... no parents I know would have let the snow get that high without sending their kids out to shuffle.
If you wish to come with an excuse, before you start, friendly reminder: you chose to suffer the consequences, it's a choice...
