For anyone that followed the first step and created their first custom command but didn't work in chat.
He missed the part where you need to click on the Blue Button "Join Channel" in the Dashboard.
If you do not do this, the commands will not work.

make sure you click on "Join Channel" in dashboard. This should be the first step but was completely missed.
