- This came as a huge surprise! And for once, a positive one. While the appointment today with Glenn was supposed to be an opportunity for him to describe how he got banned from UA-cam, turns out the platform re-installed him only an hour before our talk! What happened? How did he get his channel un-banned, and what does this mean for free speech in the West?

They ban people for commenting. not for any offense. You cant mention a certain country or group in the discussion. You are not allowed that in youtube. It will get worse. Once they start to spy on people , if you say something to friend , Next day cops will be at the door.

I used to believe it would be impossible for censorship to take root in the US. But now I realize that censorhip could be imposed in the US as easily and as widespread as an authoritarian banana republic. All Americsns do is whine about it, and things just get worse and worse.
My earlier post said I used to think censorship was impossible in the US, but now I know that censorship can be imposed in America as easily as in any authoritarian country. To prove I'm right, the guardians of free speech promptly censored my post.
Glenn being banned is an indicator of how bad things are. Can you imagine a more decent, forthright and balanced qualified person who speaks his mind? So happy he is back!

I am glad Mr.Glenn Diesen was readmitted to UA-cam. He is one of the indispensable leaders of critical, independent thinking in a world where such thinking is not desirable. The current UA-cam purge seems extreme.

The tide of Censorship on YT has gone trough the roof over the last three years: it's been very noticeable in the comments space, but now also hitting against channels with "undesirable perspectives".

Yep and it's not just on political topics. There is an app that allows people to follow creators across the platforms, if you mention the name of the app on UA-cam your comment is shadow banned.
It's not just yt and it's not just hosts on the apps who get censored and comments deleted .

UA-cam showed its true colours by banning Prof Diesen. I couldn't believe it could do that. I am happy that he is back, but there are so many others...
of course it would and did - same behavior has been already shown in excess during the covid "pandemic", with independent journalists regarding ukraine, gaza, etc. plenty of examples out there already. academia isn't a bubble, it's equally part of the same society, civilization, and hence zone of interest for these psychopaths who make decisions.
there some chanel i know 800k+ subs but less than 100 view/vid in last few month ,probably shadow banned because reporting palestine news ( its didnt even show in subscribtion page even though its update multiple video/ day )

I predominately use UA-cam for nearly all my media and now I sadly view UA-cam as a hostile platform. Not due to the content, but because of their censorship as hosts.

M.O.A.T.S. /George Galloway was warned to disallow Scott Ritter from being interviewed on UA-cam. So at some point the interview was conducted on Rumble instead. Later the show was restarted on UA-cam.
Yeah, that whole issue is strange because since that happened Scott has been a guest on Judge Napalitanos' channel as well as Danny Haiphongs and so far neither channel has been removed nor have the videos been taken down.

Not Censorship or Tech-Glitch. A gentle nudge to tell glen to fall in line and follow the neocons.
The ominous thing here is that Professor Diesen can be "permanently" deleted only for it to be reversed apparently because he has contacts at Google, or other notables can intervene. So, we can conclude nobody reviewed the initial ban, or his initial appeal.
Complaints are probably handled by a computer. And Computer says NO.
So you don't find it "ominous" that his *special contacts* saved him while us "plebs" would be helpless? That seems to be the most "ominous" thing here. Lots of people have been banned. Not so many have contacts at google.

I'd suggest it's deliberate, in order to create a sense of remote threat, like the drones constantly circling in Gaza.
Look up the legal term "chilling effect". This was an intimidation tactic to bully other content providers into silence.

As a South African I have seen this all before albeit only on national level . However , after the democratic elections in 1994 our country has freedom of speech . In fact , I think our levels of freedom of speech and religion are better than in Europe . We have many challenges and problems , freedom of speech is not one of them .

Don't forget to archive all your content, including your past work, in a format that cannot be deleted. All media residing on a corporate server can be permanently deleted with a single keystroke and no warning, or hope of recovery. Don't let the MSM be the only record of events for future historians.
