Heidi, thank you very much for watching & the question as well. Depending on the type of injury or fracture, yes- we will sometimes convert the patient to a short leg weight bearing cast, per MD orders.., woodie 🙂👍🏼

Thank you very much for viewing the video & I'm sorry to hear about your injury. Typically speaking - short leg casts are not applied for knee injuries. Depending on your MD, & the your level of injury- when they do decide to remove your cast, your continued care may include- physical therapy, &/or a knee brace or locking knee brace.
