thanks paul for getting back to me ya i help out a friend the other day on a chimney 10x10 inch old chimney its back to back with the house next door he put in a insert we used 5 inch twin wall 904 grad i used a meter of solid first then the flexi liner we then put 10 bags of Vermiculite down the chimney and still not full it would have taken 3 more at least so we stoped at that point i then packed around the top of the chimney with fiber glass and finished with cement
fingers crossed i hope this will be ok i no you say why not get the 3 bags and finish it he ran out of money. all the best from ireland mazman

can i push fiber class insulation down around flue liner its a 9 inch brick flue and last 8ft is above roof line

Hello I have just had a flexible liner fitted into my Chimney ready for a Stover to be fitted. The Chimney breast was on an outside wall but I have had an extension built which now encloses the Chimney breast with the exception of the top of the Chimney breast which goes several feet above the roof where it is exposed. Because that part is exposed should the Chimney with liner be insulated?
