there were many great commanders in red army, zukov was best among many . and all those commanders would be nothing without self sacrificing courage of soldiers.. and stalin did a good job , in dictatorial manner, managing them all and country without falling apart . hard to think of anyone else who could have done that in face of defeats in 1941. everyone saw what happened in west after far less devastating defeats. .
