Aquí en México están en la misma situación en San Mateo Atenco, León Guanajuato, en la Colonia Morelos y Tepito quedan como dos o tres personas que realizan así el calzado y en las mismas condiciones, ellos merecen un saludo también.

Provided the limited reaources its a good show but i guess our craftmen shall be trained with latest knits trend since there are shortcomings when it comes to making the heel or welting the top with sole leather.

WOW....I don`t think I would know how to walk with a pair of shoes like these...I can only buy shoes from WalMart and they only last a few months...It sucks i know and I`m embarrassed to say thats where I buy my footwear from... Very nice workmanship...

These aren't Goodyear Welted, which is a machine process, at least in western terminology. They are handwelted. You can literally see him sewing the welt to the insole by hand in the video. This is a much more difficult task requiring much more skill. If this really is your process, you're selling yourself short.
Yes, you are right. The technique is the same but we are doing it by hands, that's what make them more durable and worthy. 🙂

Super talented craftsman, what an amazing shoe maker.
The designers of the shoes however should be fired. The designers don't have talent in design they are ruining the talent of the shoemaker.
What a sad waste of shoemaker's talent.
Please check Saint Crispin, Cheney, Crockett And Jones, and few others for designs. Google shoes designs for the love of god.
The shoe maker, the craftsman I mean should immigrate to Canada and exercise his talent here.

this video, while showing the quality of the product, is also showing how poor the craftsman behind the scenes working hard... he's hardly maintaining well his hands and his environment, a possible sign of stress.. I hope he's compensated well for his effort.

These shoes are trash. Not handmade, using machine mostly, should stitch by hand use edge beveler and not nails
