Just picked up a 2017 zx14r abs se 1200 miles 62 year old had not a scratch $9000 i have had 18 motorcycles over the years best one yet was on my bucket list .
These bikes are beautiful in stock form. I have a 2013 (black with green vent stripes) with a few paint chips. Plan on getting it back to showroom condition even though it still looks immaculate with 32k and love the looks / low quiet hum of the stock pipes. Superb performance, reliability, styling and comfort… and easy maintenance. Total package!
I have delkevic exhaust on my 2019 zx14r and love them. Have the 9” ovals AND have the 18” ovals. Both sets have the DB KILLERS removed. Takes a couple of minutes to swap them depending on my mood. Less than $500 for either the FULL SYSTEM or the SLIP-ONS.
Just picked same bike up few weeks ago, do a full brocks with a ecu flash, you won’t even know it was the same bike. And a set of risers you can ride it all day.
What crowd is that? In many reviews I see a wide range of owner demographics from young to old and across cultural and race boundaries, and this bike is admired in many countries. Lots of middle age guys buying these bikes, before they age out. Another benefit for older riders is lower insurance costs. I am one of those middle aged dudes, picking up my 2021 this afternoon.
@@maybe5883 I'm a middle aged guy who just bought a 2013 also. I think there is a degree of nostalgia that plays into it as well for our age demographic especially now that they are not going to produce anymore. The legend of "The Busa Killer" and such. Enjoy your ride brothers - they literally don't make them like that anymore.
@@maybe5883 how do you like the bike, I am 62 and hope to buy one myself soon. Am traveling around Mexico now on 650 V-Strom, could certainly use the extra Hp on these long open highways..
Just got a set of the Two Brothers carbon fiber slipons! Yep, you're right the bike sounds like a beast! Also, got rid of almost 40lbs of weight with the stock mufflers! Dang, didn't think they were that heavy until I removed them! I read there is a catalyst in each stock pipe also so I got rid of them.
The Concours is nice. The 14r will be just a little more aggressive. Word is 2020 will be the last year for the Zed-14. Just like the big block Muscle Cars, the big block bikes are giving way to the smaller cc bikes.
@markurbancowboy I heard they say that every year...Are they stopping production of the C14 too? Good vid bro. Hope your wrong an I can still get me one in the year or two.
Have the same bike.i put a full 4 into 1 yoshi R77 system on mind and reflashs the ECU. You will notice a considerable difference handing wise and performance wise if you where to do that to your
Yeah I can just imagine that because as she sits now stock when you accelerate hard the torque pushes you helmet against your head and pulls your hands off the grips!! Heck, it's hard to stay on the bike in stock form! Lol😅😅
@@snakeman9902 2022 Harley Davidson Road Glide ST. It's on my channel. I went back to a cruiser for the comfort and etc, LOL too old now for the hyper sport bikes.😊
Beautiful bike, I own the ‘18 model and love it. I fit the older crowd and this is so comfortable to me. I rode in low power and did 215, before my fuel gauge started blinking,on the highway at 75-85 mph it it felt great! I weight 190 and there was no wind that day. I’m getting the slip on yoshi put on as soon as the shop calls me and tells me there in. I love that deep throat sound. Will get my ECU flashed also. Have you put your slip- ons yet? If so, what did you go with?
Thanks, check my UA-cam channel vids, I did another video of my Two Brothers carbon fiber slip-ons. I did a power commander tune also; probably should have gotten a flash like you're gonna do because I heard they gain you more power. Unfortunately I no longer have the bike, I traded it in on a Harley Davidson Road Glide; just wanted something to cruise on and that's it.
cc isn't the real reason why it's more powerful. Even the 998cc bikes are making high 190s to low 200 and the gen 2 busa not putting those numbers down. On the comfort side for me cause I just bought a 14r, 14r no comfortable at all to me. Pretty aggressive and I am 5'11. Not a suzki guy but the hayabusa for me was way more comfortable.
The liter bikes make about the same HP but you have to rev the shit out of them. The big bore 14r makes the power at a much lower rpm. That's the difference the more cc's make. Oh, and the same for the torque.
@@markurbancowboy yep tq without a doubt will be much higher cause of the increase in cc. The other edge the 1000cc has over them big bikes, power to weight. In majority of the races you watch here, you'd see a 14r take off but it doesn't stay ahead long. In fact by the time they hit 3-4th gear the 1000 already came around it. Rider error also makes things worse

Just curious what State you bought that 2017 from? I think I may know who that person was.
Best video to show colors of bike on UA-cam. Thanks!
Nothing sounds better than the 14 even at idle
