Hey guys!
This video shows one of the many ways to fix the errors that may occur when trying to launch an Ubisoft game via Steam.
If this video did not help with your issue I recommend trying to contact Ubisoft support.
OR
Going into Ubisoft Connect, your Account, then unlinking and relinking your Steam.
There are many different causes to this authentication issue and confusion.
Some are user based, some are because of updates, etc..
To clarify,
The "there was a problem authenticating the ownership of this product" error *most likely* stems from failing to sign in with the correct account via Ubisoft connect.
Your Steam, at one point and time, was most likely connected to a different Ubisoft email. This is a result of Ubisoft games using a separate launcher from Steam.
If you are not aware of any possible emails that your game could be connected to, then you need to contact Ubisoft support to see if they can switch it back to the proper account.
However, as with my experience with them, it is very difficult to do so.
How long does Ubisoft Support answer their tickets?
@@4wakened74 In my experience I remember it taking anywhere from 2 - 7 days.

I swear to God Ubisoft has one of the shittiest signings of all time I troubleshoot it for different things and it didn’t work as I was about to punch my monitor I turn off my computer turn it on and I don’t even sign in anymore and it puts me in the game Ubisoft do better

I've done all of this and nothing is working, I checked my ubisoft connect account and it turns out I wasn't using the right one so I switched to it, then I verified my game files, clicked launch, and it did the thing where it starts the launch and then just suddenly stops.
I have the game but want to play it on a different account. This doesn’t help

@@garrettclayton5875 If the game is shown in your library then you don't have to sign back into your main account.
Just try until you see it in your library, it may have been added to a different account. Or you have to bind it.
I had the same issue- instead of my main Ubisoft account, I forget and played far cry 6 in my second account, how can I move it from the second account to the main account. please suggest an option. I bought far cry 6 on Stream.
I mean, the only way is through ubisoft support to change, and good luck cause they take their fucking time responding to tickets.

You can still play it on the Steam account, it is just that the Ubisoft account needs to be changed. When you purchase an Ubisoft game through Steam it will link the game to an account, sometimes one you are not signed into on Ubisoft connect. Instead of addressing this issue, Ubisoft simply tells you to contact support (which does not help 90% of the time) most people are able to play the game through the same steam account, just without knowing it because they arent logged into the proper ubisoft account via UPLAY or whatever launcher they use.

@@TeddyPullin Many people don't understand that Ubisoft will almost randomize the account it adds a game to once purchased. This video is to help that issue.

My issue: I bought siege on PC on steam while logged into a new ubisoft account. I had played siege for years on a different ubisoft account on xbox. Im trying to get my xbox profile transfered to PC, but when i log into ubisoft on the account my Siege profile is linked to, I can't open the game.

I had the same problem, and I just opened the game properties and started the run compatibility troubleshooter and that fixed the issue, it was about the Far Cry 5 game that I started via Steam, so legends, try that method, it worked for me
i went through every file possible on my computer to find how many accounts i have created for ubisoft and it said one i purchased the game for 10 dollars on one account

Yes, you gotta go through support, which takes a millenium, but realistically about at most in a week they'll answer.

I found a simple fix just log out your ubisoft account from connect and then try to launch the game from steam I'll start without any problem
Is there anything I can do If I no longer have access or remember the login information for the account that the game is linked to?
Did you end up finding a fix? cause I'm in the same spot, my account got stolen and they changed the email associated with it.

@@BodoKovar create a support ticket and describe the problem and provide the original email linked to the account (yours). And after some verifications you should be able to get it back. Hope this helps!

I have a problem where i usually play R6 in my main Steam and Ubi Acc, and then today i decided to buy R6 on my 2nd steam account and at the 1st time i launch the game i login to my 2nd ubi account, but it asked me to input the activation code. I tried to linked my 2nd steam acc to my 2nd ubi acc, Restart both App several times. Nothing Works for me. I really need help

the account siege is linked tois lvl 7 and i want to play on my console account thats lvl 150 but the game only shows up on the lvl 7 ubisoft account library. Is there anyway i can play siege with my lvl 150 account

If you logged into an account where your Ubisoft game actually appears in your Ubisoft library, it would be my best guess that you would want to stay logged into that one. Because that is the account with the game on it.
