I agree. Belize's team was off duty policemen. They needed to raise money in order to make the flight for the Gold Cup. I felt bad for them. Good luck in the future Belize.
One of their country's football clubs was a police department.
And not just because they need to raise the money, I had a teacher in college who plays for belize when I grew up there. And I asked him why you need to work when you play for the country he replied with they don’t get paid to play for the national team and if they loose a match they need to payback the travel fair and everything spent when on national duty. And when you win the money you get isn’t enough to buy groceries
I feel bad for Belize. But their goalkeeper was actually pretty damn good.

No Wondo scored because only 2 of the Belize players were professional players, the others had full time jobs and played soccer on the side. They were going up against people who do nothing but play soccer all day and train for a living. Belize was obviously outgunned, had nothing to do with throwing the game. The US was the better side, it was easy to tell by the passing.
The entire Belize team if your pro or not, you have to have a full time job, because you don’t get paid unless you win game. If you loose on international duty you have to pay back the money. And even players that have a club to play day in and day out their pay isn’t even enough. And no support by the government.
The Belize coach looks like Nick Swardson.

Despite who you're playing, Scoring 4 internation goals in 2 matches is something to be proud of. It's sill to say that Wondo's one half hat trick was a fluke.

I know it's 2019 and the national team is going in the direction of calling up Younger players, But I would love to see Wondolowski get at least 1 more call up before he retires!
He does seem like a decent player. Which makes me wonder why he's never been transferred to a European club.
@@husseinandout3867 Agreed. In all honesty, I think he's probably had a multitude of offers to move to Europe or somewhere else outside of North America (South America being the likelist). But I think he's probably turned them down because he enjoys staying put in MLS and doesn't want to live abroad which I can understand.

Nope, he’s done with the national team. Sargent, Hoppe, or Dike are definitely not losing their spots and maybe more young strikers are on the way

Only reason Wondo scored was because Belize threw the game, fact. Some said they didn't but you look at these highlights and it's more than apparent.

Belize is on the same level as say Tahiti just about. And Tahiti got murdered in the Confederations Cup last month. US, even with their B-team are so much better then Belize. Belive me, if they would play agains one of the top teams in the world, it's a minimum of 10-0.
