League became too complicated to enjoy and too fast paced to follow. Instead of sticking with a core fan base Riot constantly tried to change the game and bring in more players. Unfortunately when you make the game more appealing to “casuals” you lose the community of people built around the game. I loved League but I think League has moved on from being a game worth investing time in. It used to be about the players. Now league is about the game. You can’t enjoy a game if you constantly have people changing what you knew and loved.
Everything changed once the LCS took shape. I feel that it's to easy to find builds and it's now one build fits all, one item build fits all. Strategies from the LCS were taken by the community and there's just so many resources. Players also got better over time.
The game is actually not complicated. it's easy to play certain roles but like all games you have to pick up mechanics and practice over and over like any other game. There are so many resources out there that it's not hard to pick up the game. Wanna play bot lane, look up a bot lane guide, want to play top look up a top lane guide.
@@Uberbeaster_ I've played League since Riven came out. I remember mostly playing twisted treeline while leveling and some time afterwards. Probably had 500-600 games of twisted treeline alone. I loved everything about it, the map, the jungle and green and white buff, it was really my favorite mode. Later, I mostly moved to ranked and grinding, but I would still occasionally play a couple of games just for fun. And then they reworked it, everything I loved about it was gone, it now became Summoner's Rift for 3 players. Since then I probably played less than 20 games of 3v3. Riot, if I wanted to play Summoner's Rift, I would fucking play Summoner's Rift. I used to main Zac, had around 65% winrate with him in high Plat , low Diamond. Then for god knows what reason, Riot changes him. That champion was probably the most balanced champion in the game at the point, it wasn't overpowered, it wasn't underpowered, just perfect. Played him a bit afterwards, but I hated the ultimate, that ability was just terrible. No wonder they reverted it afterwards, but it was too late, I was playing the game sporadically at that point, just trying to relive the memories. Last 2 seasons, the game really changed for worse, it's too fast and there's very little strategy involved. Most of the fights is who can dump combos faster, there's no more mana pool management, no more strategic calls and prolonged fights. LeBlanc used to be able to dump 1 combo back in the day, and if she didn't kill you, she'd have to back out from the lane from some time, because she wouldn't have mana to cast abilities for quite a bit. Nowadays, it's all about spamming things. The game is literally made for impatient people, who don't know how to manage resources. It's just a bit slowed down URF. IMO, LoL peaked in season 3 and season 4, and since then, it has gotten progressively faster, to what we have now. Don't get me wrong, I will probably continue to play it every now and then with my buddies, but I just don't enjoy it as much as I used to, which really is a shame.
Bolastwo league of memories will be dead by the time it’s done lol. It’s been on development for 3 years and they just barely started making progress on the client. The game doesn’t even have 5 playable champions. Only like 2 people actually make regular changes to the game.
Yeah idk why riot thinks making everything overly complex will make people want to play more. Is it cuz maybe it gives bad players a chance to just mash the whole keyboard instead of using a real combo? might aswell considering every ability activates 12 passives 5 shields and bonus AP and AD what a garbage game i realize why i quit 2 years ago things not only changed but for worse....
That shit is so hard to understand the first time it came out, and when he is available on rank guess what Another dipshit player is playing aphelios and feeding their adc
Dude! FFS, Aphelios , that bastard, I just was stunned to see someone kill me at ARAM with insane attack speed that I never even heard of before being released.
A year and a half ago it was match after match with bots. Which was fun because it got me levels but like i didnt wanna play against bots and go 32-0 every game ;(
Champs 2010: "Q - stuns the enemy" Champs 2018: "Q - When casted under the 45° degree, it creates a wall of fire which deals 10% of 30% of the enemy's 50% health over 5 (+12% AP) seconds. The spell can be recasted everytime it hits an enemy under 20% health. When recasted, it creates a sphere which is 50 (+AP) units long and which stuns every enemy in the path. The speed of the sphere is multiplied by allied champions' health multiplied by their percentage of mana used in the last ten seconds.
I find it really difficult to get into the game. I feel this overwhelming pressure to know the ins and outs of every mechanic in the game and that I have to accommodate my teammates who are often very toxic and take all the fun out of the game. I think that deep down, somewhere, there is a good game to be found but there just seems to be so many barriers in the way for just having a good time in a virtual space online with a couple of friends and strangers.
ESports are a big reason LoL was ruined because it's been balanced for the top 1% pros not for us. So if a pro who plays your champion 160 hours a week did a pro move, fuck your champion is getting nerfed.
tf2 has proven that, if a game is good enough to cultivate a great community, it can survive for a very, very long time without updates or rebalancing.
In my short (2-3 years) League career, I managed to do some stuff, unlock heroes, rise in rank, etc. Just to find out one day that I got permanently banned for insulting someone for not listening and playing like a donkey. I had no way to defend myself, and a woman handled my case... the thing she told me was "Have better luck in other games". Riot Games dedication right there, right.... They call it a Tribunal, yet you have no way to defend yourself, you are at the mercy of a person that does not even care or know about you. It does not matter how much money you put into the game, how much hours you spend on the game, how much you consume yourself for losing ranked games, to the point of serious headaches, one day I thought my head will blow. This game is not worth it, this company does not care about players that really invest their being in the game. I don't care about this game anymore, or this so called company. It's just too disappointing....
Just don't come back. I'm going to stop as well, since it's a lot more outside than inside of my room. I have a lot of friends that I enjoy playing with, but I don't want to lose time in this game anymore.
Short answer: It stopped being a game once the professional sports circuit rolled it over. They stripped out everything that made it goofy and fun, streamlined everything to appeal to the athletes, and turned a game into a job league is an esport now, not a videogame
i dont agree with that at all, you have pros complaining about the changes. If they are trying to appeal to the pros they are doing a bad job. The issue is they dont think "will this make the game fun" they think "how can we be creative"
Jamie Chattoo to say esports destroyer LOL isn’t completely true, look at season 3 and 4 probably the prime of league and the LOL as an esport was huge
THIS IS WHAT IM SAYING. the only reason they removed trackers is bcuz "pro play". If you want pro to be great, make another patch only for pro...-a lee main
There was something else about the "simple" gameplay from old champions, something that gave satisfaction. It was simple enough and yet every champion felt different. The lore was intriguing and left you doubting. I miss these dominion matches. Ranked gamplay was like a mistery, and the road to level 30 was still long. I remember spectating the challenger games that appeared in the lobby. I remember the first ranked match and the ominous music behind it. I remember when i got out of silver and how happy i was. I remember my climb to platinum and i also remember that impossible comeback when playing as Poppy. I remember a lot of things and that i had a great time while it lasted.
Mate, you speak so much truth. It's crazy that you made me realize things about the game which I didn't notice till now (I play the game for 7 years now). Act Man, your content is so damn good! You always make me think. Keep it up and greetings from switzerland
Thanks, boss! Glad you enjoy the video! And hopefully you still can have fun with League. I can, I mostly just think it's no longer in the "prime time" of it's lifespan. Thanks for the good vibes!
Wrong. Trashtalking was the only fun part of the game and being punished for trashtalking, when you literally have two mute buttons, and almost never getting punished for ruining several games for dozens of other players, is what he was complaining about.
I know right the fact that people still to this day can constantly run it down mid to derank themselves or troll and not get banned/punished while people who trashtalk/toxic can get permabanned like fix your shit riot.
Heck, I'll trade you current league if you just stop adding champions or reworking them. Nerf me into the ground. But i at best wanna think, "i know how to play this game". Rather than, "now Warwick is only viable in the trees and can't come to lane. Ever.
@@am25deek They make galio op and then nerf him to the ground. Riot is a joke because Galio is officially RIP in op.gg xD This is why I quit and have no regrets since then.
The problem is League needs to care more about banning players who are trolling/inting/defiant to coordinate in games, than the ones that cuss them out. And the change too much. They ruined many champions but reworking them. I had never been in trouble for anything in my first 2 years (started Feb 2016), got in trouble twice in almost a month in early 2018 and got banned. Too many players playing ranked who had no business in ranked - disinterested in team play/objective cooperation. I had 15 M7 champions: Cassiopeia, Maokai, Nasus, Orianna, Rakan, Lulu, Karma, Sivir, Twitch, Miss fortune, Janna, Taric, Sona, Morgana, and KOG'MAW. That's a dope list of 15 diverse champions - I was a beast but I'am glad to laugh at this game anytime I can. They reap what they sow. Feels good man to watch all the player base freaking right after I stopped playing. Reap what you sow.
Oof this really spells out how I've felt about the state of League. As you said, "Imagine it was YOUR favorite champion, who just completely changed and wasn't the thing you enjoyed anymore"... Every main I've had has been reworked and become one of my least favorite champions, almost on a yearly basis since I started playing in about 2013. First Sion, then Fiora. After that I gave up on League and went on a year hiatus. Came back, fell in love with Urgot, became an Urgod, then a year later my heart was crushed again. Drove me to the point where I can't stand playing one champion anymore because they always have to change something. I roam now, play about 50 or 60 champions on rotation, which doesn't work well in ranked, so I mostly stay in the Howling Abyss. I've been forced from my home on the Rift due to such "changes".
Little late to this but yeah, I pretty much stopped playing with the Shen/Galio changes, I loved old Galio sooo much and this new one just isn't for me in the slightest.
I wouldn't say not only the changes but also the fact that the competitive scene has completely eclipsed the gameplay and you can't now go to a game without seeing someone trying to play like a professional league gamer. People had become so competitive in league that is not fun anymore because there's no team, there's someone trying to show that they are better than their enemy and even trying to show that they are better than your whole team.
Yeah, it really stopped being about fun, it stopped being about playing what you wanted where you wanted it and trying to make it work, it became all about being a meta slave, because if you arent winning it isnt fun anymore, it became all about trying to show how much better you were than other players, all about the outplay and less about the enjoyment of just playing a character with a specific item build, they just sucked all the fun out of it, its just a soulless husk of what it used to be.
A friend of mine is like that now. He used to main Vlad bot and I'd support him with whatever champ I thought might be fun. I'd say 50% of the time, we did well. Then it just became about winning and being better than everyone for him. He stopped doing what made it fun and only what made him win. The last straw for me was when he got really mad because I took a kill. This was 25-30min into the game and he was 8/7. I still somewhat play now, but I don't enjoy it as much because the game rewards that mindset.
@George Rome If you got a champ that can cc him he can be killed easily in teamfight regadless how fed he is. For example Twisted Fate is excellent at shutting Yasuo down cause of his point and click stun. Just steer clear of his abilities and cc him.
@George Rome He can be a bit of a sketchy champ, but he DOES have about 50% winrate just like many others. He has weaknesses just as he does have pros. One advice I can give you is stay away from ally minions since they're his way of dashing around. At least that's the first advice that comes to mind. Anyway I wish You the best of luck in the season of 2020! I'm sure you'll figure out new stuff as you go ^^
For me it wasn’t when they removed dominion. It was when they took away 3v3s. Taking away the original twisted tree line was hard, but it was so much harder when they removed 3s altogether.
I think League peaked around 2012-2014. It wasn't overly complicated, we didn't have any unnessecary reworks yet and you could still play something that wasn't meta and succeed. Now, if you're out of the loop for a few months, League will be a completely different game when you get back into it.
We won't be able to truly prove it, but I do get this feeling that early Season 4 was maybe the best the game had been. There were some issues with Kassadin, LB, and Nidalee being OP, but the game overall felt like it was in a super healthy place and there was space for a lot of fun experimentation and fairly simple mechanics.
Ive been playing league since season 1, and I gotta say I really disagree with this. Sometimes I stop playing league for months because of school, or because another cool game comes out. But I always come back to league and I still love it after all this time. I barely played at all in season 7, but when I came back in season 8 the game was still very much the same. I actually managed to climb to my old rank faster than before, despite not having played for a few months.
Hide and seek was probably half of my games back then...with friends or just some random people. And when they don't ban Hecarim Rammus or Udyr ooooooh that would be a fun game!!
For the most part i agree, especially at the Dominion part. Sad thing is. Riot is also canceling Twisted Treeline... That was the moment i stopped playing it too.
I personally think Riot should take a page out of Jagex's book and release a "Old School" client or version of the game, nostalgia is a massive market and the game is old enough and big enough to be able to really make something like "Old School LoL" work.
@@splintercell320 im a beginner at league, but being able to play fun builds and wacky characters like act man said was possible in older versions seems more enjoyable than some meta-worshipping strategy-following coin flip of gameplay ive experienced so far
I remember they said once that the possibility of proposing a temporary old version of the game was taken in consideration, probably they donnow how to do it properly. Have any idea how much money can you milk from nostalgic people
I feel like they'd try to make it a featured game-mode with a gimped style of playing for all the champs with a global set of stat buffs similar to URF, which hopefully won't happen.
League used to be about finding your favourite play style and champion and mastering it. But now days its more about go to op.gg to keep up with which champs are doing good, get comfortable with them and follow this cycle forever. It used to be game everyone could play and enjoy and inly issue was toxicity. But now players are frustrated because someone found out about New unconventional build and its unstoppable. And there is no solution for afk ( remake is only for first few minutes). I played league for 7 years and now i feel its really hard to enjoy it if you are unable to invest in lot of time to keep up with things.
the main problem after the retardness of the designer team is that if somone run down mid for 50 games riot do nothhing, even when you all report them in every game, but if you say to the guy who run down mid to fuck you kid, they will instantly ban you. I mean where is the logic?
And there's ARAM. Ok, random, but 4 marksmen in a team? 3 supports? 3 tanks? Sometimes I just I look at the loading screen and I can bet which team will win. Ziggs and Zilean in one team? Really?! But even though we could hold on, there're the lag and afk. Yesterday my team started with 4 afk, I was 1v5 for 3 minutes with SORAKA. I didn't panic, she pokes a lot, but even after my team returned, we had no chance. And I often die because of the lag which is ridiculous. Instead of the changes, Riot could care for the server conditions.
Maining one character in lol feels like a lottery every patch, except if your champion wins, they get in the riot van for some candy, and come out D I F F R E N T
S2 was a shit ton of fun, it was addicting. Now lol for me is just a platform for social interaction where I can chill a bit with my friends. But the game is _meh_ now, I just play it for the good company and get fed up fast. Doesn't even matter if you win or loose anymore, even a win is _meh_ most of the time. The motivation to master it and explore new tactics is dead, largely because of the streamlining mentioned in the vid. Oh, and also because of the power-creep. Slowly the champs get more and more powerful since there is a natural drive to one-up the old with the new. More burst, more mobility, more super-kit champs that have a little bit of everything. Now when a new champ comes out it has to have a small dash, a shield, a hook, invisibility, execute, multi-taget cc... all of them at the same time. It's like a sad joke. Gone are the days of mixing and matching items, champions, and play-styles together - where you were just having a blast with something weird and all you needed to remember was that you can't win every time so always try to have fun.
Watched the entire thing... Brings back a lot of memories dude.. I stopped playing a year ago, after playing for about 6 years, reaching diamond and even challenger. It was just too much for me to try to keep up with all of the constant changes and slowly I just started playing less and less until I realized I have actually stopped.. It was awesome while it lasted, but as riot knows, it was time for a "change"...
challenger for 3 seasons. Them buffing tanks to do as much dmg as bruisers/assassins in s5 put the final nail in the coffin for me.Glad I did, the trash things they are doing with the game is making it worse and worse, especially the new rune system.
Watched the entire thing as well. I was platinum s1, diamond s2, and diamond1 s3. I held a rank of top ~1500 in soloqueue since the start of ranked games in 2010. My highest rank ever was around ~250 in soloqueue and I also hit the #1 ranking in 3v3 ranked at one point. A lot of things talked about in this video happened after s3, but it's still pretty much true. The truth is, Riot has never been good at balancing champions and it's not their top priority. New champions that are released are almost always stronger than older champions. This is kinda a rant, but at this point in League of Legends, they released a lot of new AD melee champions, which were all really powerful. They had abilities that scaled with AD and also took over the MID lane. If you didn't shut them down early on, they became way too strong(a sign they were OP) and also took over the mid lane(another sign they were op). A popular strategy was to buy that buff potion early on( a sign they were op). A lot of issues that AP champions had, such as mana, CDs, low defense, low damage early game, etc, just simply did not exist for these AD melee. They had no mana, could auto attack for damage, had burst, a lot of leaps, and shields that scaled with AD. My main role was AP mid so maybe I have a biased view. I also feel like I can relate to OP. When you find a champion you like and they change it or they become unplayable, it hurts. I played Nidalee a lot and she became completely unplayable after they nerf'd her. Instead of just nerfing her spear, they nerfed her to the ground. You could play her in any role if you tried hard enough, but after the nerf you were forced into the support role, which she was god awful at.
Honestly the new rune system and the irelia rework was the nail to the coffin for me. League is unplayable now and I guess I'm always someone that doesn't like change.
6k mmr dota 2 player and casual league player. The constant change is the heart of this game besides teamwork and strategy, and with a deep understanding of the game, the changes are rarely hard to learn, yall are just butthurt if yall are actually complaining about patch changes
@Drejul Everything became about the meta and then the emphasis for speeding the game up. 2 or 3 deaths could be bounce backable now it is feeding and people try to report you.
I legit almost started to cry... I tried to play the game after they reworked Irelia but I ended up quitting a few months later. now in april 2020, two whole years since she was reworked I come across this video. I feel heartbroken...
I miss my swain, he was my first main. I learned the basics of laning phase. I played more than 1000 games on him. When they reworked him he went from my off meta pick that had some fun quirks. To a champion that plays nothing like what I spent hundreds of hours on..... I miss you buddy T-T Ps: R.I.P Beatrice, you’ll truly be missed
I miss him too. And everything else. Now they remove Twisted Treeline. Honestly, I had quit multiple times in the past for months at a time, (usually after huge updates targeting my favorite champions) but now I'm not so sure I'll eventually come back lol...
True, I loved the music, even though most of my experience with the map came from Hide'N Seek (I played the game mode a decent amount but sometimes it was just really had to get queued up for a match) Dominion was probably the most i ever played Warwick, Shaco and Amumu though.
I played this game since the beginning of 2010 and let me tell you that time period between 2010-2013 was the best gaming experience I’ve ever had. Better than Halo, better than COD, better than Legend of Zelda, better than dark Souls, mass effect, KOTOR, the list goes on. Most people don’t remember those times, but we didn’t have designated lanes back then. Champs were constricted to certain roles. The items weren’t confusing so builds were simple. You didn’t have items that granted wards so if you wanted them, you had to factor them into your budget and buy them yourself. Every champ was viable which made games more interesting because everyone didn’t play meta champs all the time unless the champ was new. People didn’t hound you if you missed one creep in bot lane as an adc. I lost my love for LoL as soon as they started to get too competitive. I haven’t played since 2016.
Hey dude, there are some people working in a private server, called League of Memories, based on S4, its not complete, and its not playable yet, but it is pretty good
Don't expect it too much, riot will probably take it down ... In the way that those who own the company now are big chinese groups ... It's too big now to accept this kind of stuff, that's the same with blizzard removing private servers one by one atm ... :/
Crysos Is back at least catch their attention, look osrs, at least bring back dominion, back to the days, I saw it had capacity to have bring competitive, total different scene
Holy shit dude that's awesome. Season 4 was when I started the game but it always felt like, beyond a handful of problem champs like Kassadin, LB, and Nidalee, the game was overall in a healthy spot in terms of fun and general balance, mostly earlier in the Season. If that private server had Team Builder, I'd probably cease wearing pants for a couple days.
I'm in love with this video. I uninstalled LoL recently (yeah, definitely) after tons of tons of changes that destroyed my play style and the things i used to play. It felt like fighting a cancer (Riot) for years until it has overtaken me. Let me explain my story: I started playing at s3 and i mained support soraka and janna until i saw an amazing champ, perfectly designed, who was considered like tier 5 or whatever and no one used him. It was the pirate, it was Gangplank. I mained it for hundred of games. I loved him. I loved to getting flamed in champ select room and then carry the whole team. I loved to smash other t1 top champ players with my pirate. I loved to not be just an another player who plays mainstream champs. After tons of games i reached dia III only playing gp top (And sometimes support). I liked his simplicity and his autoattack-based dmg. No dashes, no fuckin broken mechanics. His W and his Q is all you got. I even loved the sound of his Parrley... Then riot reworked him. The new design and mechanics made me puke, it was completely another thing... it felt like saying goodbye to a dearly friend. Everyone played him and he lost all his charm for me. I would never see him with the same eyes as before. In my research of maining another not mainstream champ, I found then TK at support position. I loved the way he could be so agresive landing one Q or just one auto with glacial, to save your adc with your W too and his high base dmg on autoattacks for 2vs2 at bot lane. I spent games and games making better my microskill with him, practically spamming W just before the last passive stack and predicting enemies moves to land my Q. He wasn't op. Fightihg a lane vs an ap mage support was hard and you had to be very careful of trying aggresive things. I also tried mechanics no one was doing. I memorized the way their botlane recalls and then i ulted with my adc in their face when they were recalling. Then it became popular on lcs and I have never seen such a SICK nerf on a champ. You can say right now that its the worst champion of the game. THE FUCKIN WORST. Q doesnt proc pasive, W has massive slow, and ulti was sickly nerfed. I MEAN. HOW could you do this. Just fuckin how. Now NO ONE plays him, no ones. And just picking him is a reason to be reported. Again, riot smashed me. As i said before, it felt like not again please. Why are you fuckin destroying everything i love. One another strategy I liked was the banner on minions. I mained this item like a year BEFORE the buff Riot did to canon minios with baron buff. I enjoyed it so much. It was another mechanic no one was playing but I did. I managed to have high CDR on items with runes and used it like every 40 seconds o something like that. It wasnt a game changer but i was so proud to have my canon minion, giving me gold and pushing a lane while we were teamfighting. It was like a kind of sidepush you could do as a Support. Then they fucked up with the patch and Every top laner bought it after the buff and it was played in lcs. They had to stop it somehow. Instead of rollbacking the item, they fucking deleted it. Pathetic. No words. Then here I am with my dearly beloved Alistar. I have never been so far with my elo (I reached dia II 50 lp) and i was so proud. Alistar fitted me well. I had been playing him usually from S3 and it was, again, another not much played champ, with better options out there. With hexflash I managed to did amazing plays and tricks. Everything went fine. A t3 probably support champ smashing t1 and ranged aids supports... until Senna patch. It felt like... ok, whats happening, i cant do more, this is my max. It required tons of effort and concentration to be as useful as are those kind of champs with the half of your skill. And its not a /cry against some1 better. Senna and champs like that are just too broken. The news champs are relegating the old ones to a spot where if you play them you get frustrated. You can check it also with Braum or taric just played with Yi. Where are they? Same happened with pyke. Pyke imo is extremely broken. This guy has the potential of BC, with a dash to escape which also stuns, it has a nice ms, and he has an executioner that can even repeat it. And it evens give gold to the others. WHAT IN THE HELL. Where is the risk of "going in"? How could you design that? How champs like Alistar fits in an scenario like that where after W and Q you have nothing more than your ulti to survive being a punch sack? Who would pick him with those kind of champions out there? How a champion with that kill potential even gives the gold to his teammates?! At least punish him for that! Make him choose between getting the kill and KS or just let your adc get the kill. So where is the point to be attached to a champion? For Riot is like you only have 1 option out there. Play what everyone does. Don't try different things. Play the mainstream champs (on their mainstream designed lanes). Don't waste your time trying to be different. If you try somethig that its not played, they will change it. Soon or later they will until a point they can probably mess it with the change and then remove it. So, after years and years. I say goodbye to this game. I'm tired of getting up after so many beatings. Every time Riot removed something I loved in the game i tried to adapt... until today. GL & HF
Im sorry they ruined your champions, TK is a really cool champion so it's a big shame they ruined him. It's like they are trying to destroy the game on purpose.
AuRoN344 I completely feel it with TK. I’ve only been playing on and off since Ekko’s release, but early on I LOVED TK after his release. Such a fun play style, could dick around in top if you really wanted to try in low elo, but iverall a balanced support with a sick ass ult. When they hit him with that huge nasty nerf, I was so upset. You explained it too well already, but it hurt bad. My friends and I are starting to get back into league, and I never played before Ekko but I wish I did because the game is NOTHING like it used to be. It’s now strictly based off who chooses the most OP comp and gets a nasty build from it. Not a whole lot of skill, and not a whole lot of mixture.
You hit the mark with mostly everything you said, but especially regarding Pyke... That champion design is flawed to a quintessential level. A support with invisibility, grab, dash, stun, and an EXECUTION ability that BLINKS him at the location and RESETS on kill while ALSO SHARING GOLD to the participant after he kill steals it. Just mental. Also, all these new champs are literally improved reiterations of old champions. For example, yuumi literally being an untargetable soraka. At some point, it's just too much BS to deal with.
I hated when they deleted banner of command and zz rot portal. But like act man said they just delete shit cause it isn’t popular. Really wish I could have played the old gang plank because he looked like a lot of fun tbh and much more mindless. I enjoy have some easy intro champs like Garen and old gp to go back to but they fucked up garen by making him build attack speed rather than a juggernaut build
N O S T A L G I A You know why it was fun back then? People sucked. Right now, when people know so much more about the game, your precious S1-S4 fun will be gone.
The problem is that the game changed so much from Season 1-4 and even during those seasons that i'd be really, really hard. The idea would be that maybe there's be a certain cut-off point. Maybe, champions in the game are cut off right at the end of Season 3, the last 3 champs added being Lucian, Jinx, and Yasuo. The idea from there would be to seek perfect balance and add nothing more to the game. The only additions would be small, incremental changes to expand the playstyles of existing champions.
I want to hook baron from pit again ! Be ap rengar! Ignore life itself as poppy with ult go lichbane 1st item on garen/riven/zed so i can go them full ap,be 10 stacks cho with 0 hp
The real reason Dominion got removed is for the server space. The plan was to take Dominion out and add the rotation game modes in his server space. Right now they took the rotation game modes out and adding TeamFight Tactics as a parnament game mode instead. Dominion will be missed
Has Riot ever given a detailed response as to why they approach rotating game modes like they do? Variety can only help a game, and LoL is famous for only caring about one map. Twisted Treeline is considered a joke, ARAM has had the bare minimum amount of changes and attention given to it, they only care about the Rift. Dominion is gone, Ascension is gone, Riot backed out of keeping Nexus Blitz as a permanent game mode, and they've admitted to doing everything they can to make URF worse every time it comes out. They can't even keep game modes up, there's constantly months of dead time with a bunch of lame "events" in between. What am I supposed to think when the only game mode they're making permanent (they're insistent in shoving Ranked into TFT ASAP, more than Dominion ever got) is something made by a team of 30 people in a company with around 2,500 employees.
@@thebandofbastards4934 Makes sense. You'd think Riot might be interested in catering to people who don't want to spend thirty to sixty minutes on average on a single game of LoL (40 minute games on average for TFT, but with more RNG as opposed to the usual teammate coin flip), but I guess the BILLIONS of dollars they make aren't enough for such a risky investment :P
I would love it if riot introduced a legacy servers for those people who love these champs before their rework or before the changes they make to the game like the pbe
World of Warcraft community wanted a same thing for a years, and last year they announced legacy servers. 90% of the players that played a game years and years ago will come back. League should do the same thing if they want part of their community back
Murat 64 but i want riot to atleast promote it to other servers so it will be known but i kinda understand riot here becuz i think they will have to use a lot of resources
It would be fun, but the problem is that we allready know whats good in every single patch. The exploration of a new patch meant that we had to calculate again. If they chose a patch were you theoretical can solo dragon at level 1 many would be mad. if you choose a patch where you can go ap yi and destroy with no counter people would be mad.
Im a Ryze main and i actually like the new one because I actually feel skilled winning as the worst champion in league. But, I agree with a lot of the things you said man of acting!
i love playin ryze ive played all the reworks they did and the one we have now is a bit of u get ahead u do shit or u need to get to the late game to have some power but yeah league is changin alot and wht is really bad in my opinion is the new champs with alot of mobility and shit tons of mix scaling missing health max hp double the crit mele Q evolved shiit they forcing....... these so called skilled champs on the game where they r straight shiit and unhealthy for the game and anti fun.. i still play the game sometimes but not for the fun just for the sake of playin a game with my friends
I honestly enjoyed the Galio rework, being able to counter a champ by buying one item isnt fun. That is why Mundo doesn't see as much play, and they are completely reworking Alkali and Atrox.
I've been out of the League of Legends scene for 3 years. And before that I had stopped because of the toxicity, but started again when my brother and some of my friends started playing. League of Legends was a super fun game. I preferred casual to ranked, and let me say that the massive amounts of updates to me were overwhelming. I played a lot of League, sometimes my entire days off work. The game was filled with too many champions, too many changes, and too many toxic players--and it affected who I was outside the game. I quit for my own sanity and so I could focus on real life. I think, if they had slowed their updates down by 50%, the game would have been much better to follow. It would give me more time to play and learn the meta, to where I wasn't cramming 3-5 games a day just to learn it all. The champions that were coming out would be slower and I could just focus on the ones I knew instead of a new champion seemingly every 3 months. Seriously. 2 champions a year would have been great, and far fewer "balance" updates. Sure, keep the skins coming at that pace--hell, even accelerate it. No problem with that whatsoever. I can pay money for skins. Recently, a young friend of mine asked if I knew anything about League of Legends because he was getting into it. I have been considering whether or not to get back into it. And while I think that you had the best of intentions for explaining what was wrong with the game and what could make it better, I think it pretty much reinforced why I left and will not be returning. It was fun back in the day, and watching your gameplay got my old League senses going and the excitement blood pumping. But I will not go back. I've built up too much of my life to return to a game that is not made for people of my caliber.
@@diceblade He was a garbage champion that barely saw any legitimate play, When he was strong he was antifun to play against and right before his rework he was literally only played because Rageblade was busted he needed a full rework. Sure they changed his aesthetic to a more Warmongering warrior but it fit his lore better and he has a lot more depth now, All of these champions they reworked were garbage for a reason and the only reason they ever won was because of either niche counter or the person straight up didn't understand them cuz no one plays them some of these champions had a pick rate of less than 1% and I'm pretty sure more people want them to be a good champion and fit better aesthetically into the game than people hipster hogging these dead failed champions
Galio was trash, ONE FUCKING ITEM countered his only good thing and he says that a rework was not necessary ? This video is just him bitching about changes for the sack of bitching, every rework was done because the champion that got reworked was either broken or just boring as fuck.
Beautiful video, I loved this game so much at one point but had to take a couple of years off to focus on IRL stuff and when I come back it was such a damn mess and I basically had to read a thesis paper every time a new patch was coming out I just said screw this.
Well, what if? If the game wouldn't get reworked you would just get bored and stop playing. You just can't see the good part of it, you only look for more to complain about. Phatetic.
Ioana Popescu Change is fine when done right and when done only when it's actually needed, I never got bored of the old league but now in it's change addicted state I just can't keep playing it for more than an hour at a time. Also it's pathetic how you can't spell pathetic.
Ioana Popescu People like you are pathetic if you don't understand the bigger picture, people played league for the fun of it, it was simple and easy to pick up on. Now every champion that comes out have like 4 passives to there abilities with at least 2-3 skill shots. League isn't fun anymore and what makes it even worst is the meta. You cant play champs you want to play .... only the champs that are "strong" are getting played. Almost every league match you play its almost the same 15-20 champs being played over and over again. Yes we wanted change but not a whole detour into overly complex champions that u need about 100 games played on that champ just to be decent with them.
Although it isn't dying, it is still going in a terrible direction and that can't be ignored. You might want to defend it all you want by talking about player count and twitch viewers, but the changes are not only upsetting but also getting ignored.
I'm so glad (and surprised) you mentioned dominion. I was about to comment something about dominion when I had watched just half of the video. Dominion was just so much fun, it was intense and quick, you weren't stuck with a toxic teammate for 40 minutes nor with a champ you realize you don't enjoy to play... I keep wondering if riot has even thought about bringing dominion back, since the player base has changed quite a lot after its removal. A lot of my friends have quit since then but there's so much new people too, that have never tried dominion. So... I wish they gave dominion another chance. ps. I totally relate to everything you just said, damn
i thought ill never stop playing league. played it for 6 years and got d3. but after i got banned on my main account, the drive just started to die out. i dont mind people dying once or twice before 10 mins but i get people in plat that go 0-8 and just rage quit. its a waste of 30 to a hour. and if you lose early game. 15 minute ff isnt a thing. if league ever gets voice comp ill come back. but fortnite is keeping me satisfied, it has everything league has and then some. Mechanics = building, Skill = aiming, etc. And best of all... the community is fantastic to play with. no bitching at each other. its all (for the most part) pretty welcoming.
Same... It's funny how I also started playing like 5 or 6 years ago and have recently (and this time permanently) stopped playing because.. Well I wasn't sure why (besides that there's a lot of one-shotting nowadays and I really hate having no counterplay, it makes it unfun to me), until I watched this video... This guy has opened my eyes and made me extremely melancholic for the game it once was (and I loved). Oh and ps: Dominion will always be in my more dearest LoL memories ♥
League is like that high school friend that used to do the craziest shit and make you laugh all the time but after he gets married and his wife doesn't want you to be around anymore and he turns into a quiet dad with a boring job in a random company But you always have the memories of him being a real badass
Solid video. I never really played dominion because I didn't really find it all that fun but I can totally see how it affected to those who enjoyed it. League has too much change and I always asked myself, "will this game ever have a balance point?" After 6 years, I stopped playing and I am honestly sad by my lost passion in the game.
Cynane but it's true. He doesn't do well in other lanes besides with the adc, and his jungle clear is weak compared to others (EHERM KINDRED) If you have good synergy with ur adc the enemy botlane is completely screwed.
You ... you just said every single feeling I had about this game ... it's like you read my mind or something ... well done video subbed :) I wish they'd release a season 2, 3 or even season 4 client so we could play there ... one man can hope ...
League of Memories is a new thing and it's in development , I hope we can get a private server thing like WoW and its old expansions, but there are 7 people online currently : ( #feelsbadman
I agree on most of the things you said in this video , I have played league for 6 years , but i quit beacuse i felt that i was misplaced in a constantly changing game , I adapted to a playstyle that I felt the most comfortable with , but league needed to change for the sake of change , that playstyle grew old , so the love Ive felt for the game perished , and i stopped playing it. And it it absolutely horrible how they cant give a skin to Aurelion Sol , but can spam Lux skins as much as they want because everybody is playing her. And you can clearly see Riots "Favouritism" in the LCS , changing entire champions beacuse the 1% of the best players think the champion is bad. They should just move on with League and make a new game , its pretty obvious that League will fall under its weight some day.
Goku overwatch is there since ages. Overwatch is streamlined since they did startet Killing dive meta by overpowering Supports. 3 Supports 3 Tank meta was the best example.
Sharptooth They don't rework a champion becuase the "1 percent" of players say they are bad, they get reworked because they natural dont do well in lane or teams even if they get ahead. Galio and Urgot both had less than an 10 percent play rate, and less that a 30 percent win rate which is awful. There shouldn't be champs in this game that only get played to counter one champ, they should be able to be played normally without getting shit on by 90 percent of other champs.
I started playing in March 2010 when there was less than 50 champions and this is spot on. Abilities used to be designed like this: "Q: Deals 200 (+0.7AP) damage". Now everything they add is insanely complicated, AND they constantly update old stuff to be more complicated too. It just got tiresome at some point. I wish there were "LoL classic" servers sometimes.... I'd love to play the game how it was in 2010 or 2011 again.
This comment is the closest one I've seen so far to the point that the sheer # of champions is too burdensome. True, if they never changed there would be hope that we could make this work for a little longer, but even 50 champions is a lot. No need to add more. Every game makes this mistake. It achieves greatness, and instead of stirring things up with the game, they change it fundamentally by raising the complexity level beyond what most players can work with by way of excessive abilities or excessive playable characters.
Found you in my recommended. Really agree with your points. I lost my Graves ADC when they reworked him. League has never been the same. There will never be a champion that captures old Graves aggressive style. I find myself sitting here wondering why I've wasted my time trying to find an answer and a substitute. I'd like to re-live the past, but change is always going to push me further from it. Loved the video, you've got another sub.
Yeah, join the club. They turned Katarina into this clunky ass, lazy dagger thrower, when she used to be this badass champion who was the fastest in the game. But hey, at least my champion didn't get tossed into the jungle just for the sake of it. I still hate Riot for doing that to Graves....
I never got into league, specifically for the sole reason that I logged on one day, tried playing the game for the first time, and then got trash talked by my whole team saying “kill yourself,” “uninstall,” “just quit a bot will be better than you.” Like damn, I just started and barely know much about the heroes and item system and already getting shit talked 😂 what a lovely community, that sure keeps people playing! Anyways, this was an awesome video, and I’m more than happy that I never got sucked into the LoL rabbit hole that the majority can’t get out of...
Same. Game is full of smurfs and smurfs arent even shunned or anything, its discusting. And well, the fame does have a problem with bots anyway so they got what they asked for
I don't know what it is with mobas but they have the most toxic communities. I remember when DotA was released back in Warcraft. One month after it was released you already had to be a master at it because casuals were not allowed.
fraughtmonster8 me leaving has nothing to do with me being sensitive u fuckhead, it has to do with a toxic ass community that I’m not gonna be apart of or even deal with
and the reason they removed it is cause "it wasn't popular" while it had like 170k+ players there are games out there like Paladins that only have 20k players if riot was hi rez they would probably remove the game even though 20k players enjoy it this is just ridiculous and stupid and 3 vs 3 (twisted treeline) has also been removed because it was not popular while it also had 170k + players look at team fortress 2 with their 100k players, should that now be removed too even though 100k players enjoy it? they would literally remove dota 2 if they were in charge for dota 2 even though it has 500k+ players (concurrent players) riot is a terrible company
I miss dominion man. It was my first experiences with league and what i liked the most because it was just fighting. I remember picking Jax and just saying fuck it trying to 1v1 anyone.
basically everything you've talked about is exactly why i haven't played league in over a year now. god do i miss season 4. you could do literally anything and make it work. such a long time ago now...
I don't play it either but I was curious because I play Heroes of the Storm and I thought that one was the only one with problems but it seems like league has the exact same problems. Now i'm curious if Dota is better in these aspects?
Man i tried to re take League and that shit jump on into my screen. I can't get the point of relasing a champion like that, complicated unnecesarely, i mean, it's not like an Invoker in the DoTA case where this complicated style open a lot of posibbilitys, it's the same ranged shit whit unrelevant variations in range, damage, healing . A Kafkian nightmare.
@@Santiago-rq2mu Just forget leaque of legends man, the game is really not your time worth. And if you wanna play old leaque, wait for chronoshift. Its a project where people play old leaque, its not out yet.
I used to disagree with you act man back when you just released this video but now that I've quit league, I understand the reason why. Riot tries their best to constantly change the game to the point where they alienate their old or solid fanbase just to remain relevant.
Duuude, I'm so glad you talked about Gangplank, because I was that devastated player. I loved playing Gangplank because he was a funny cartoon pirate! I wouldn't call what they turned him into "emo," but evil, heartless, and humorless. The worst thing we know the original Gangplank did was kill his own father with a stab in the back, and his dad was such a scoundrel that he high fived his son before giving up the ghost. In the rebooted GP's story, he is torturing/dominating a subordinate by cutting his leg meat open and chiseling his initials into dude's femur, all while he's conscious and in agony. Jesus! And yet, Graves can't have his cigar.
Personally, I like the reworked Gangplank's theme, but it seems Riot just wants their game to be a lot more dark and realistic, yet their skins are ridiculous. I think they're going to try to make all champions like this
>old gangplank "Cartoon pirates are for kids and cliche" >new gangplank "Wow a grounded gritty pirate. *This has never been done before like the previous version*"
Man I couldn't relate to the reworks but now that aatrox is gone I understand completely. My desire to play this game is just gone completely. I miss Dominion so much too... What's the point of climbing to master tier if you just abuse op meta champs, and not with what you want to do? I don't know what to say anymore but this game has me feeling down.
Yeah bro. To me Akali and Taric were the entire game for me. Since they removed those champs effectively with the reworks I no longer have any connection to the game.
There’s a paradox from classical philosophy known as the Ship of Theseus. It’s a paradox that talks a out how every time a captain’s ship was damaged, he would replace that section of his ship with new wood. Enough time passed to where no part of the original ship remained. It’s as if the League of Legends we first knew has ceased to exist after so many changes, streamlining, and “improvements.” The game we have today is almost unrecognizable.
This is a good and apt metaphor and one I'm familar with, and yes that is correct after the journey of the argonauts thesus had replaced every part of his ship. I feel this is perfect at describing league of legends which in its hay day look nothing like the services or players we have now in this community!
Almost unrecognisable is definitely an over exaggeration. Are you really trying to tell us that if you saw a clip of gameplay, you'd only be vaguely aware of what the game is, or who made it, or what's going on? Please. Yes, there have been and will continue to be a lot of changes, and some players will move on from the game because they no longer connect with it. But the idea that Riot should change literally nothing, or _just stick to balancing_ just to keep a few players from whining, is how you kill your game.
For some reason youtube algorithm brought this to my attention. Thanks for reminding me about the good old days (season 2 to 4) with my main Fiora. They reworked her and in one swoop crushed everything I had invested in that game. They even went so far as to change all the in game models and artwork that I had paid REAL money for.
Fritz Darchinger you know what... I hated dominion like... Alot. But I did like the fun customs we would do like hide n seek or arena mode where you' "test your might" where 1v1s would happen and the team with the last standing champ won
The most recent Patch we had (8.11) shows how Riot tries to be "sensible " towards players that are used to certain playstyles by wrecking the Performance of crit adcs, tossing fulltanks right into the bin buff earlygame adcs and ad assassins off the charts and buffing banner to an gamebreaking state that needed 2 days to get hotfixed. No Riot is NOT interested in balancing and YES riot forces the Meta into certain direction directly there is nothing left of that Trial and Error philosophy that they had couple of seasons ago and it pisses many people off that they are doing the imbalancing for the sake of an always changing meta that is always a result of an imbalance riot created
The game is too complicated but appeals to casuals... Something is wrong about your argument here.
Everything changed once the LCS took shape. I feel that it's to easy to find builds and it's now one build fits all, one item build fits all. Strategies from the LCS were taken by the community and there's just so many resources. Players also got better over time.
If you think league is complicated you ain't gonna like dota
The game is actually not complicated. it's easy to play certain roles but like all games you have to pick up mechanics and practice over and over like any other game. There are so many resources out there that it's not hard to pick up the game. Wanna play bot lane, look up a bot lane guide, want to play top look up a top lane guide.
This is the most stupid post I've ever read on this website. Anyone who's played before S3 would never write that shit.
24:38 the guy says"what next? is twisted treeline going to be removed as well?" sad news for you mate..
FeelsRainMan that this is actually true
RIP
was just about to comment the same thing lmao. RIP twisted treeline
No one played tt anyway
Man, they will eventually launch "LoL Classic"
source plz ? and dont tell me about league of memory, its already gone idk why
Literally lol mobile its the lol classic
i wish, and no mobile lol doesnt count it, it's a mobile game and looks nothing like classic league anyways
Bolastwo league of memories will be dead by the time it’s done lol. It’s been on development for 3 years and they just barely started making progress on the client. The game doesn’t even have 5 playable champions. Only like 2 people actually make regular changes to the game.
Thought about this too, but which season to pick? Season 4 or 5 would be great I think.

Dont be sad that it ended, be happy that it happened.
Short answer:
It stopped being a game once the professional sports circuit rolled it over.
They stripped out everything that made it goofy and fun, streamlined everything to appeal to the athletes, and turned a game into a job
league is an esport now, not a videogame
It happens to many companies and games now... Sadly...
i dont agree with that at all, you have pros complaining about the changes. If they are trying to appeal to the pros they are doing a bad job. The issue is they dont think "will this make the game fun" they think "how can we be creative"
While i dont agree a 100%, it did lost a lot that a game should have in favour of competitive elitism. It is more of % sport than a game for sure.
Jamie Chattoo to say esports destroyer LOL isn’t completely true, look at season 3 and 4 probably the prime of league and the LOL as an esport was huge
THIS IS WHAT IM SAYING. the only reason they removed trackers is bcuz "pro play". If you want pro to be great, make another patch only for pro...-a lee main

omg hide and seek T.T i miss it so much. when I heard that they were removing dominion my heart literally dropped.
I still play hide and seek with my friends on summoners rift and its shit compared to dominion one.
For me, I was sad when they took away dominion because it meant that you could not play Hide and Seek anymore :(
TRGGRD agreed
RIP hide and seek, leblanc and fizz was the shit!
Easily my favorite part of the game back in the day
There was something else about the "simple" gameplay from old champions, something that gave satisfaction.
Thanks for the good vibes!
dunkey was right from the start
But didnt dunkey mainly complaining about the toxissity of player/griefing and how riot handles it?
Also, didn't he actively contribute to the toxicity while whining about it and pretending Riot Games owed him something?
Wrong. Trashtalking was the only fun part of the game and being punished for trashtalking, when you literally have two mute buttons, and almost never getting punished for ruining several games for dozens of other players, is what he was complaining about.
/All chat >>>>
I know right the fact that people still to this day can constantly run it down mid to derank themselves or troll and not get banned/punished while people who trashtalk/toxic can get permabanned like fix your shit riot.
*Did I just hear a rallying cry for Classic League Servers?*
Ultra HD Let's Play
Puts a tear in the eye.
Omg classic true hybrid Ez and kogmaw my heart.
I miss the old twisted treeline map
Heck, I'll trade you current league if you just stop adding champions or reworking them.
Nerf me into the ground. But i at best wanna think, "i know how to play this game". Rather than, "now Warwick is only viable in the trees and can't come to lane.
Ever.
@@am25deek They make galio op and then nerf him to the ground. Riot is a joke because Galio is officially RIP in op.gg xD This is why I quit and have no regrets since then.
Waiting for League of Legends: Classic
Nope they canceled
And rito closed an community project to recreate league season 1
This is the only League video I've watched in over a year. Thanks for filling me in on what I've missed.
My Favourite champion who changed is
Master chief
I'm cheddard as cheese because act man hearted me comment I've got notifications on and have had them on since why is halo 5 so bad
Nice
Didn't click read more, fuck you
Riley Banks what do you mean fuck you
Comet ok
I miss old sion.I started playing allot less since they reworked him. :(
Little late to this but yeah, I pretty much stopped playing with the Shen/Galio changes, I loved old Galio sooo much and this new one just isn't for me in the slightest.
Uninstalled league of legends 3 years ago, best decision I’ve made
Unistall League of Pricks few months ago, best decision you and I made.
Now you get to spend more time writing UA-cam comments lol
Then don't play PVP games if u don't want to be competitive.
jarrett mathews Learn how to difference between pvp and competitive xoxo
A friend of mine is like that now. He used to main Vlad bot and I'd support him with whatever champ I thought might be fun. I'd say 50% of the time, we did well. Then it just became about winning and being better than everyone for him. He stopped doing what made it fun and only what made him win. The last straw for me was when he got really mad because I took a kill. This was 25-30min into the game and he was 8/7. I still somewhat play now, but I don't enjoy it as much because the game rewards that mindset.
Pan con mantequilla well thats how the game it is. If you wanna win you gotta do your best right?
"In my opinion it's not fun to win on someone that's so broken"
Yasuo mains: *laughs in toxicity*
ok ima preface by saying i may or may not be 200k m7 yas. But he easy to counter, like just pick twitch mid. Its my signature midlaner and its amazing
Yasuo is only hard for those that don't understand his mechanics. Sadly there are so many of those in low elo and then they go cry to the boards.
I'm sure you'll figure out new stuff as you go ^^
@George Rome Well that's good ^^ then I wish You good luck in beating him in all those cases.
Remember the new rule of LOL:
"The more text a champ has in description, the more broken it is."
Master yi or tryndamere are awfully simple but considered broken
It is not the size of the textbox that matters, but rather how the drunk underpaid Rito employee used it.
Season 3-4 were the best league ever had after that it was all downhill starting with tank meta.
Toss I think League was at its best before the seasons came out 2010-2011. Season 2-4 were still great though.
remember hide and seek in dominion? it was really fun
Remember Dominion in general? It was alright, I guess
I used to destroy my sleep schedule playin that
I'd always get stuck seeking but I had so much when they underestimated and didn't ban Rammus.
it's fast and fun. - Hotshotgg
Hide and seek was probably half of my games back then...with friends or just some random people. And when they don't ban Hecarim Rammus or Udyr ooooooh that would be a fun game!!
Season 3 was peak.
best time ever
Facts
yea, and maybe 4 was not that bad yet.
5 was the fall
Season 2-4 was the golden age of league imo
“Or this memories”
*add starts playing*
Me:”That’s a horrible memory”
For the most part i agree, especially at the Dominion part. Sad thing is. Riot is also canceling Twisted Treeline... That was the moment i stopped playing it too.
I personally think Riot should take a page out of Jagex's book and release a "Old School" client or version of the game, nostalgia is a massive market and the game is old enough and big enough to be able to really make something like "Old School LoL" work.
henko otto I would pay top dollar to have a 2010-2011 League of Legends back!
Good idea, but it would split playerbase, so that's unlikely something they will do.
League used to be about finding your favourite play style and champion and mastering it. But now days its more
about go to op.gg to keep up with which champs are doing good, get comfortable with them and follow this cycle forever.

Maining one character in lol feels like a lottery every patch, except if your champion wins, they get in the riot van for some candy, and come out D I F F R E N T
i played league for 7 years stopped in 2017, it just got boring for me, thanks for the memories tho i will always love the S2/S3 hud :)
Embrace the Darkness i just started last week, Lol its super fun
whats ur highest elo
BadgersEscape do u like rammus ?
agreed
Too much change isnt good, even khazix knows that... :D
The constant change is the heart of this game besides teamwork and strategy, and with a deep understanding of the game, the changes are rarely hard to learn, yall are just butthurt if yall are actually complaining about patch changes
seems everything is focused on ranked game and it isn't fun anymore.
Robert Eubank Check my last vid!
@@mustardgasyt1169 Fuck off.
"Imagine your favourite champion who got completely changed."
RIP old AP Galio :(
I feel the same about Old Fiora...
guisd2 , I feel the same, I don't want to think about what I have to do
Old Karma ;_;
Rip old ad Katarina
I miss my swain, he was my first main. I learned the basics of laning phase. I played more than 1000 games on him. When they reworked him he went from my off meta pick that had some fun quirks. To a champion that plays nothing like what I spent hundreds of hours on..... I miss you buddy T-T
Ps: R.I.P Beatrice, you’ll truly be missed
same dude reached dia with the old swain league isnt the same anymore without him
I miss the old swain "imma walk at you till you die, oops I got a double kill" playstyle.
I miss him too. Had 200k mastery on him. Have played him ONCE since then.
I miss him too. And everything else. Now they remove Twisted Treeline. Honestly, I had quit multiple times in the past for months at a time, (usually after huge updates targeting my favorite champions) but now I'm not so sure I'll eventually come back lol...
I think people dont get the reason why reworks are a thing... people also care about the lore and swain reworked made A TON of lore drops.
Man I loved the Dominion music, it was just so goddamn good for that mode's pace.
True, I loved the music, even though most of my experience with the map came from Hide'N Seek (I played the game mode a decent amount but sometimes it was just really had to get queued up for a match) Dominion was probably the most i ever played Warwick, Shaco and Amumu though.
Sad to say in 2023 nothing has changed
I haven’t played since 2016.
dude i fell you... i also started playing in 2010 and i quit like 3 years age because of the same reasons
Yeah. Having like 200 Champs.
But only a small part is "playable" sucks.
Hey dude, there are some people working in a private server, called League of Memories, based on S4, its not complete, and its not playable yet, but it is pretty good
Holy shit, really??? I'd be so fucking down to play that and try it out!
Don't expect it too much, riot will probably take it down ... In the way that those who own the company now are big chinese groups ... It's too big now to accept this kind of stuff, that's the same with blizzard removing private servers one by one atm ... :/
This would be so nice
Crysos Is back at least catch their attention, look osrs, at least bring back dominion, back to the days, I saw it had capacity to have bring competitive, total different scene
Holy shit dude that's awesome. Season 4 was when I started the game but it always felt like, beyond a handful of problem champs like Kassadin, LB, and Nidalee, the game was overall in a healthy spot in terms of fun and general balance, mostly earlier in the Season. If that private server had Team Builder, I'd probably cease wearing pants for a couple days.
Hide and Seek on Dominion with the squad was the best thing out there.
KillerOnDrugz bruh they don’t know about it
Oh yeah, the old days!

Omg you reminded me of that game Find the teemo lol
I'm in love with this video. I uninstalled LoL recently (yeah,
definitely) after tons of tons of changes that destroyed my play style and the things i used to play. It felt like fighting a cancer (Riot) for years until it has overtaken me. Let me explain my story:
I started playing at s3 and i mained support soraka and janna until i saw an amazing champ, perfectly designed, who was considered like tier 5 or whatever and no one used him.
Don't forget that TK Q+W also consume his stacks now. No more Q/W combos unless you mix in a lot of AAs
The juggernaut update, was the start of the apocalypse
I've been saying this for a while: We got Classic WoW servers to happen, we can get league season 1-4 servers happening as well
this is a wet dream to me :D take all my money, make it happen!
N O S T A L G I A
You know why it was fun back then? People sucked. Right now, when people know so much more about the game, your precious S1-S4 fun will be gone.
Is that the same prospective on why people like Vanilla servers for WoW?

KrackerUncle what does your comment have anything to do with mine?
@@MrPlayer890 Money
@@thebandofbastards4934 Makes sense. You'd think Riot might be interested in catering to people who don't want to spend thirty to sixty minutes on average on a single game of LoL (40 minute games on average for TFT, but with more RNG as opposed to the usual teammate coin flip), but I guess the BILLIONS of dollars they make aren't enough for such a risky investment :P
I miss the hide n seek custom lobbies for dominion. I spent so much time playing that shit! Anyone else remember that?
@@Zeklore I rememeber, such a nostalgic feeling. Those were the good old days.
I would love it if riot introduced a legacy servers for those people who love these champs before their rework or before the changes they make to the game like the pbe
google league of memories.
Then i can get countless of penta kills with old fiora ult 😄
"The joke they write in every patch" The patches which are a joke themselves alone
And here we are knowing Riot is removing Twisted Treeline later in 2019, dammit
What are you waiting to stop playing?
They laugh at every old player Who keeps playing and you cant event quit
I miss 2014-2015 league, for me that was the perfect time to play league
Im a Ryze main and i actually like the new one because I actually feel skilled winning as the worst champion in league.
But, I agree with a lot of the things you said man of acting!
Ornn, Kassadin & Ryze Inc. no he is not lol he got so many nerfs and he still in the meta
@SSW Imp In the pro meta? yea.
In solo queue? 44.3% Platinium+
*laughs In Chronic Depression*
i love playin ryze ive played all the reworks they did and the one we have now is a bit of u get ahead u do shit or u need to get to the late game to have some power but yeah league is changin alot and wht is really bad in my opinion is the new champs with alot of mobility and shit tons of mix scaling missing health max hp double the crit mele Q evolved shiit they forcing....... these so called skilled champs on the game where they r straight shiit and unhealthy for the game and anti fun.. i still play the game sometimes but not for the fun just for the sake of playin a game with my friends
I honestly enjoyed the Galio rework, being able to counter a champ by buying one item isnt fun. That is why Mundo doesn't see as much play, and they are completely reworking Alkali and Atrox.
Ryze isn't worse character wtf are you talking about? he has high win rate
I saw Aatrox in the logging screen when I started playing and now even Aatrox is changed. Disgusting
Disgusting indeed.
Me too it’s just weird seeing it change especially when I haven’t gone on it for so long
They changed his character from a wise, strong ass demon to a dumb, aggressive Idiot
@@diceblade He was a garbage champion that barely saw any legitimate play, When he was strong he was antifun to play against and right before his rework he was literally only played because Rageblade was busted he needed a full rework. Sure they changed his aesthetic to a more Warmongering warrior but it fit his lore better and he has a lot more depth now, All of these champions they reworked were garbage for a reason and the only reason they ever won was because of either niche counter or the person straight up didn't understand them cuz no one plays them
some of these champions had a pick rate of less than 1% and I'm pretty sure more people want them to be a good champion and fit better aesthetically into the game than people hipster hogging these dead failed champions
Galio was trash, ONE FUCKING ITEM countered his only good thing and he says that a rework was not necessary ? This video is just him bitching about changes for the sack of bitching, every rework was done because the champion that got reworked was either broken or just boring as fuck.
Beautiful video, I loved this game so much at one point but had to take a couple of years off to focus on IRL stuff and when I come back it was such a damn mess and I basically had to read a thesis paper every time a new patch was coming out I just said screw this.
helloyassine exactly? Happened to me 1 week ago, i stopped for 8 months and now i see everything changed
Well, what if? If the game wouldn't get reworked you would just get bored and stop playing. You just can't see the good part of it, you only look for more to complain about. Phatetic.
Ioana Popescu
Change is fine when done right and when done only when it's actually needed, I never got bored of the old league but now in it's change addicted state I just can't keep playing it for more than an hour at a time.
Also it's pathetic how you can't spell pathetic.
Ioana Popescu
People like you are pathetic if you don't understand the bigger picture, people played league for the fun of it, it was simple and easy to pick up on. Yes we wanted change but not a whole detour into overly complex champions that u need about 100 games played on that champ just to be decent with them.
yea I went 1 year off and I came back to wft is became, and every now and then I try to come back to the game but damn it ,its no longer fun
League of Legends isn´t dying "IT WAS MURDERED"
ah cleanprincegaming

League of legends isn't dead, it is *Killing people*
Although it isn't dying, it is still going in a terrible direction and that can't be ignored. You might want to defend it all you want by talking about player count and twitch viewers, but the changes are not only upsetting but also getting ignored.
Marcelo Morte By Fortnite
we need an older version of league. personally i loved how it was in 2014. would be amazing
You made me remember how much I missed champs before all the reworks
Kat, galio, Evelyn, taric, yoric (my fav), crit plank
Fiora! Oh I so miss the old Fiora.
Maximum Fun ah! See there’s been so many I can’t even remember them all
I even forgot swain and that was recent
nobody misses old yorick, galio or taric
Yeah, I was going to say Yorick, Galio, and Taric are actually useful and good now lol....
Crit Plank was actually RIDICULOUS if you did well in lane. You saw some of the clips I showed, yeah? Saw how badass I was XD
Ya and don't even try playing twisted treeline to make up for dominion I've been stuck in hour long TT games...
This is why I stopped playing League.
same, I WANT MY AP TRISTANA BACK!
I want to get to full itembuild before the game ends and before one side get's an unbeatable advantage. *60 minute games are absolutely fine*
I want old runes and masteries back thats why i quit :((
i thought ill never stop playing league. played it for 6 years and got d3. but after i got banned on my main account, the drive just started to die out. i dont mind people dying once or twice before 10 mins but i get people in plat that go 0-8 and just rage quit. its a waste of 30 to a hour. and if you lose early game.
League is like that high school friend that used to do the craziest shit and make you laugh all the time but after he gets married and his wife doesn't want you to be around anymore and he turns into a quiet dad with a boring job in a random company
But you always have the memories of him being a real badass
This hit home hard, because I had a friend like that.
Growing up sucks.
that's like almost every dude I know. Man cave incoming.
Just got to stick with your boys
Solid video. I never really played dominion because I didn't really find it all that fun but I can totally see how it affected to those who enjoyed it. League has too much change and I always asked myself, "will this game ever have a balance point?" After 6 years, I stopped playing and I am honestly sad by my lost passion in the game.
Pyke is a "support" assassin lol...
Cynane but it's true. He doesn't do well in other lanes besides with the adc, and his jungle clear is weak compared to others (EHERM KINDRED) If you have good synergy with ur adc the enemy botlane is completely screwed.
PodLed when you get lvl 3 cqmp lanes
PodLed pyke isnt shywana
it’s a good concept because it’s a new mechanic
It's fine tbh. Not so different to Brand or every ap support. He's just ad instead, and probably more balanced
You ... you just said every single feeling I had about this game ... it's like you read my mind or something ... well done video subbed :)
I wish they'd release a season 2, 3 or even season 4 client so we could play there ... one man can hope ...
its Aria leagueofmemories.com still didn't try it but let hope it work (not from riot btw)
I have been thinking that for so long...wish there was a fkin client with the old stuff.Fck meta players!
Yesss exactly this! I’m with you bro, let’s hope together
League of Memories is a new thing and it's in development , I hope we can get a private server thing like WoW and its old expansions, but there are 7 people online currently : ( #feelsbadman
lets make a petition
I miss the times were i could go any champ on any lane whitout having my entire team open a bible about the meta.
That's just online multiplayer games in general, unfortunately.
Frito Pendejo Well nowadays because of esports.
They kept kicking Anivia in the dick. The last straw was the wall not giving line of sight anymore. I miss that.
Lux gets a skin because she is one of the cover girls of league, Aurelion sol actually has a higher play rate than lux.
+Goku dude it happens for any online game, especially if its popular.
I miss old Graves too, but I feel like they reworked him cause Lucian is too similar.
Tbh I think the new graves is better, I even main him now lol
Lovesick wow yeah I really miss old Katrina ...
They reworked graves because he was basically same as Lucian, and Lucian remains unchanged, voila, new main for you
I never got into league, specifically for the sole reason that I logged on one day, tried playing the game for the first time, and then got trash talked by my whole team saying “kill yourself,” “uninstall,” “just quit a bot will be better than you.” Like damn, I just started and barely know much about the heroes and item system and already getting shit talked 😂 what a lovely community, that sure keeps people playing!
To be fair. If You automatically quit because someone said mean things to you online you probably shouldn’t be on the internet
@@fraughtmonster8 Ah yes the "well everyone does it so its your problem not theirs" fucking lmao dude.
fraughtmonster8 me leaving has nothing to do with me being sensitive u fuckhead, it has to do with a toxic ass community that I’m not gonna be apart of or even deal with
I stop playing this game when they have retired dominion it was just the best game mode to have fun and try champs
and the reason they removed it is cause "it wasn't popular" while it had like 170k+ players
there are games out there like Paladins that only have 20k players
if riot was hi rez they would probably remove the game even though 20k players enjoy it
this is just ridiculous and stupid
and 3 vs 3 (twisted treeline) has also been removed because it was not popular while it also had 170k + players
look at team fortress 2 with their 100k players, should that now be removed too even though 100k players enjoy it?
they would literally remove dota 2 if they were in charge for dota 2 even though it has 500k+ players (concurrent players)
riot is a terrible company
I miss dominion man. It was my first experiences with league and what i liked the most because it was just fighting. I remember picking Jax and just saying fuck it trying to 1v1 anyone.
basically everything you've talked about is exactly why i haven't played league in over a year now. god do i miss season 4. you could do literally anything and make it work. such a long time ago now...
@NicolBolas2 thank you, i'm definitely interested in that.
I don"t even play league...
Why am i here ?
Lol DotA playurs
Because you wanted to know what happened to League of Legends :o
I don't play it either but I was curious because I play Heroes of the Storm and I thought that one was the only one with problems but it seems like league has the exact same problems. Now i'm curious if Dota is better in these aspects?
I'm only here to listen to act mans sexy voice
Why are we here...just to suffer
The game got so competitive that the fan base became hostile to new players.

childs play compared to aphelios
Man i tried to re take League and that shit jump on into my screen. I can't get the point of relasing a champion like that, complicated unnecesarely, i mean, it's not like an Invoker in the DoTA case where this complicated style open a lot of posibbilitys, it's the same ranged shit whit unrelevant variations in range, damage, healing . A Kafkian nightmare.
@@Santiago-rq2mu Just forget leaque of legends man, the game is really not your time worth. And if you wanna play old leaque, wait for chronoshift. Its a project where people play old leaque, its not out yet.

Why don't they just make another character :/

Act Man blessing us with these frequent videos i feel like its christmas.

Jesus! And yet, Graves can't have his cigar.
nobody cares
Yeah, He defo lost that "I ate a orange and it was kay" magic like that Mundo patch note.
(So mundo can go where he pleases)
Personally, I like the reworked Gangplank's theme, but it seems Riot just wants their game to be a lot more dark and realistic, yet their skins are ridiculous. I think they're going to try to make all champions like this
And don't forget the soothing voice of OLD NASUS!
>old gangplank
"Cartoon pirates are for kids and cliche"
>new gangplank
"Wow a grounded gritty pirate. *This has never been done before like the previous version*"
Two years later im still salty as hell for mordekaiser rework
It's ya boi Guzma I don't even recall old mordekaiser
Worst rework ever. Or, one of the worst.

wtf two weeks?
Man I couldn't relate to the reworks but now that aatrox is gone I understand completely. My desire to play this game is just gone completely. I miss Dominion so much too... What's the point of climbing to master tier if you just abuse op meta champs, and not with what you want to do? I don't know what to say anymore but this game has me feeling down.
yeah bro. This is what the Akali rework and the Taric rework did to me. They were the only 2 champions in league that i liked to play.

I shid my pant
This is a good and apt metaphor and one I'm familar with, and yes that is correct after the journey of the argonauts thesus had replaced every part of his ship. I feel this is perfect at describing league of legends which in its hay day look nothing like the services or players we have now in this community!
the future is now old man
Almost unrecognisable is definitely an over exaggeration.
They even went so far as to change all the in game models and artwork that I had paid REAL money for.
they destroyed veigars old playstyle and now I can't play him anymore
I even bought skins for him too I think, this sucks
Who else remembers playing hide and seek in dominion?
I do... Feels so fucking bad that they removed it, because playing that with 6 friends was gold. Best memories I have of LoL.

The Phantom man the crit nerf killed me inside
