It was a summer night, not too hot, not too cold. The cool breeze was flowing through New York City. I was driving and had the window open with this blasting. As I was driving, I ran into a red light and across me was two police officers drinking coffee. They shouted at me saying "that's that good music! Turn it up man!" and so I did and continued driving. Good times man.
Playing GTA Vice city - cruisin' around Miami, neon lights, the beach, fast cars, cops trying to chase you, hookers, alcohol, rich pricks, radio stations, Little Havana, Little Haiti - damn. Greatest game ever produced.
+Corey Cavalier EXACTLY!! I discovered numerous artists and bands but what I really liked to discover was New Jack Swing...seriously, if it wasn't for GTA San Andreas I would have never knew about that kind of music. Where I came from, Italy, that genre is practically inexistent.
ლαДкФS 1560 If you like New Jack Swing then you might like the early work of rapper Kool Moe Dee. He was produced by the father of New Jack Swing, Teddy Riley.
This song is 35 years old.In 1983 when this cut came out I was 9.It was the jam back then, and still is the jam, better than than the CRAPPY music they play today.
+XDivi Every 5 years I have a craving (after realizing I'm burning brain cells while playing it) and either find my old copy or end up going to a gamestop, or these days, a retro store to buy another copy. I'm heading to the retro store right now...much to my wife's chagrin.
Thankyou!!! u made my day! i've been looking for this song for so long ago , brings me back the good days of the 90's and much more man. Much appreciated!
Gogito The 60s and 70s had some hot music too. James Brown was the shit, I think he was a foundation for rap to build on. If you listen to his song The Big Pay Back it sounds like he's rhyming a little bit. A lot of hip hop samples James Brown.
I would just drive, avoiding everything I could and listen to this. It was like I was in a trance. I got really good at judging if I could fit into gaps because of this.
I'm a one and a half year old baby with accelerated vocabulary development, stubby fingers capable of mashing 8 words per minute, and a fixation upon old popular music. I just want to say that this song is lot better than the Bieber/Mars/Sheeran crap that comes out from the radio near my crib these days. I do however require a mixture of replies: some voicing congratulation toward my good taste, and others sniffing condescension at my expressing my youthful musical inclinations. Could UA-cam please oblige my request?
Damn this song is the best.. soo smooth.. i remember it when i was a boy back in the 80's.. lucky for me i only listen to the music of my generation these days...
Superbe music et quelle ambiance à l'époque!!.. J'éprouve toujours le même ressenti à aujourd'hui avec ce type de music.. cela me fait du bien partout!!
Im not an old school guy by any stretch, but i love this song. No better song to set the mood for speedin down a freeway, runnin over the unsuspecting public, and trying to figure out how the hell you're gonna get rid of all six stars

Vice City was the first GTA game I played, and Fever was the only radio station I would listen to. XD Unless I couldn't change it.But I loved Vice City and always will! #ViceCityForever !This song also brings back some memories, missions, free roam, a lot.
Back when I first played Vice City and San Andreas, I was 8-10 years old and not that interested in the music. A few years ago I started listening to 90s Hip Hop and old music in general, I replayed SA and was amazed by the soundtrack and all the Hip Hop references in the game. Lately I'm listening more and more to Funk and 80s Disco music and just now I realize how great the VC Soundtrack is. I guess I have to replay that as well.
Imagine growing up and hearing Snoop for the first time as a kid. Or should I say Snoop Doggy Dogg. I remember being 6 and seeing a CD for the first time in 1991, I thought it was so futuristic looking LOL!
Dang that's crazy! I was 7 the first time I heard snoop dogg but it was listening to the Chronic 2001 that my older sisters were playing. Skip forward 10 years an I listen to Doggystyle for the first time an love it. My first rap cd I ever got was Outkast's Speakerboxx/The Love Below for my 10th birthday!
The first Chronic came out when I was in 1st grade. I remember seeing the Rodney King beating all over the news around that time and even as a kid I was like OMG! Outkast was hot, that album you're talking about came out when I was in high school. I really liked the song Roses because my mom has the same name as the girl in that song. My brother and I would clown when that song came on! I remember when they came out too with that Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik in 1994. I still like that one they put the dirty south on main stream with that one.
I literally haven't checked out these tunes in over 10 years i am now 18 (age you should be or over to play the game ironically) magic to hear again i thank this game for supplying me with funk/disco and the rest of them classics from a young age.
Sadly the newer GTA's don't have shit for memorable music anymore, was such a big part of the game too. Hope they go back in time for the next GTA again, but they probably won't
Let's start a petition for more nostalgia, Gta 4 & 5 soundtracks were shit, I couldn't even tell you any memorable songs from the games HOWEVER from San Andreas and Vice City there were some amazing songs. OMG Please don't leave me out I'm a ode skool junkie can't have it no other way 4SURE! ! No skool like ode skool music timeless indeed AMEN! ! February 22 2019
Gta 5 story dlc in 1980s would be cool. Change/remove some buildings, make all the old cars spawn and add some more - like Infunes Classic (eg 80s Lamborghini)...
+JPB UploadsUK It should be the 90's. Los Santos wouldn't be interesting in the 80's because gang warfare those times aren't really that extreme, making the story be based on getting a hell load of money again or something else. And a reminder that gang warfare was really serious during the 90's. Most big time rappers were part of a gang, and some of them were killed.
+Vandolphvibar09 yeah it would. in that time colombian cartels (medellincartel) produced 80% of worlds cocaine and transported it to miami and LA. best setting ever.
I'd love the next GTA to be set in the late 70's at the east coast of the GTA USA. With Vice City, Liberty City, and Carcer City, playing as somebody who wants to establish a nation wide drug empire. You know, like flying planes from the caribbean to Liberty City filled with cocaine, intimidate your business enemys, infiltrate commercial airlines and shipping companies and party with super models while wearing crazy-ass suits and drive fast cars! That would be a GTA of my taste! Imagine the soundtrack!
I also remember the 1st part of playing GTA vice city game, when the BILLIE JEAN - Michael Jackson Songs Plays when he starts up the Silver Classic Mercedes-Benz.
this was my fav gta... idk i guess ya just gotta love that 80's flavor vice city displayed effortlessly and with tunes like this.... brings back memories of playin the game hahaaaa

Yeah it's spectacular. I wasn't exposed to a lot of that back in the day. I grew up on a lot of Blues and soulful R&B. :)
I was 9 back in '02 and I remember this one being one of my favorites.
Those Memories will never be lost in Oblivion.
RIP Mr. Cheatham. You made Saturday memorable.
Man, what a song. If you have to summarize vice city in one very song then this is that song.
The one GTA where you could just cruise with your veichle and enjoy listening to these great music and just drive.

Get down, it's saturday night
Saturday night, saturday night.
Saturday morning,
Friday's enemy

But where to begin
Kids are out of school,
Trying to find a friend
Everybody's busy,
Can't wait for the night to begin
You work all week long,
You work your fingers to the bone
Fridays' enemy,
I can't wait for saturday to begin!
Gonna have myself some fun fun fun fun
(Get down it's saturday night, gonna be alright)
Make love until the morning come (x2)
I like to party, everybody does.
You can't wait for the weekend no no
See what you get into
But you've got to get down down down down
Even if you stay at home
Make love and listen to the music
You've got to let yourself go go go go go, girl
You work all week long,
You work your fingers to the bone
Fridays' enemy, yeah.
