Aah finally! Someone who actually explains it, like in which direction I have to put it and just everything. Also the 'backgroundinformation' about how it works was good to know. Very helpful video, also you seem really nice.
You're back! Don't worry, we all understand; your mom sounds very sweet, tell her only time can heal, however don't forget to give her your company. Also, thanks for this video, sometimes I have a hard time exposing pictures the right way, it's obviously a lot more easy on digital cameras.
Late to the party but the only way to fix this is to scan it and then work the digital image in Photoshop or some similar software. You'd be surprised at how much latitude you have to make adjustments. You could then print the processed image, but then it's not a Polaroid. Best thing is to learn how your particular camera exposes and make adjustments. If your photos are consistently light or dark, your exposure meter probably needs to be cleaned.
I have the same One Step in this video and I shoot outdoor black and white film with the slider on darker. It adds the contrast I like in all of my black-and-white photography.
Welcome back and thanks for the tips you share with us...all the best for you and your family, just time will help you all to continue without your grandad, he will be forever in your hearts and memories.
Oh no, I've been doing it wrong. I have a Polaroid 630 camera, and whenever the lighting was dark, I always moved the slider to cover less of the light sensor, I thought more light would go in the camera that way. I didn't use my head to think that that's not the objective of the camera, that's just a light sensor. Actually, I should have covered more of the light sensor, which would tell the camera to make longer shutter speeds, which makes the picture come out lighter. Damnit! :) Now I know, thanks to you.
I just receive my SX70 land model 2 today. It’s my first instant photography camera and I’m still confused on exposure. I took a photo in a very well-lit sunny area but it came out dark and I’m not sure why. Your reference of the forest kind of made sense in that I would under-expose it (to the black), but then I got lost when you mentioned the bright light/sun.
THanks for this video, I have been looking on the web how it works and all i could find was some walls of text. So this video really is a gift right now!
Hey Marco! I recently bought a Polaroid 600 round top camera and I’m having some issues with the sharpness of the pictures. They are coming out quite blurry. I know this camera is not made to take pictures of close ups but I tried to take a picture of my arm to show a tattoo while using the “close up lens” and it came out blurry with and without flash, im a bit disappointed because I’d like to be able to showcase some of the tattoos I’ve made on people but if they are quite a small one I need to get close. Any recommendations are welcome. Thank you 💕
OH MY GOD YOU DID IT THANK YOUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THIS VIDEO I NEEDED THIS!! Thank you for the amazing quality videos I hope you are doing well :) Keep the positive vibes going you are such a cool and unique person you deserve the best! ALSO my Polaroid 600 does work, it's a challenge to take the perfect photos but I'm learning and your videos are so helpful! If you can do videos on maybe nature photo tips that would be wonderful as well! Thanks again!
I just subscribed today and I already love your channel. I bought my own 635 super color just a week ago. I really hope you are doing well. I wish you the best of luck and I will recommend your channel to everyone I know that likes Polaroid too!
So if I am taking a photo that doesn’t have enough light... I would take it on the dark side? And vise versa? I thought it would make my photo even darker! Or even brighter! So confusing
the amount of light doesn't matter for this, the content of the image does. so if it's darker it just takes longer to expose, but yeah that topic is super confusing
Hi! Thank you for the video. Can you explain to me how to adjust flash exposure? I have Polatronic 1 in a Polaroid 1000. I tried to take some photos of my dog in my bedroom. Them all came out a little bit too bright. I adjusted the exposure +1 lighter. I would like to know how to use the exposure and the flash at their best. (In my room there was light from the window)
I have an sx-70, and keep getting darker images - even with exposure 1/2+ lighter. The scenes I’m shooting are generally outside, overcast or brightish days with the light behind me. With an empty cartridge I’ve tested the light meter on the sx-70 and it seems to react correctly regarding shutting opening times - any thoughts
Thanks, Marco! I'm looking forward to your next video! It would be very helpful a video about tips to shot a good instant photo ( suggestions about angles, background, composition, etc.). Bye!
Nice video! Thanks! I snapped three photos today outside, landscapes with my Polaroid 600. It was overcast so I shot with flash and left the exposure in the middle. They all turned out with an brighter strip across the top of the picture (like more washed out than the rest of the photo and losing details and contrast). Ever happened to any of you guys? I also tried to shoot indoor with flash. The photo came out nice! Thx for your help!
Hey Marco, I have a question about the onestep 2! Do you think it would be possible to reduce the minimum focus distance using a filter like a diopter? I'm hoping to be able to take portraits a bit closer to the subject, thanks!
Haha, i had a bit of video i cut out of this one but the Close Up lense from the Lomo'Instant Square works really good with the OneStep2. Thats how i got this close on my shots :)
have you been using the flash? if you use a closeup somehow you need to reduce the flash somehow and watch out that the glas is not in front of the flash
I was always wondering how this works with Polaroid cameras, so thank you very much for this great explanation! If you know how it works then it's not that hard but if you don't know how it works it's a bit like black magic :D
I really love your work! Please keep up the good work! Recently I have been looking into the reciprocity failure characteristics of Polaroid Originals i-Type film (both color and b&w) because I want to make a Polaroid pinhole camera. However I couldn't find any useful info. I asked guys at Polaroid Originals for datasheets for both films but unfortunately they haven't tested it yet. I read somewhere Fuji instax film has really bad reciprocity failure characteristics that a 10 stop compensation is necessary for a supposedly 1 second exposure to get correct exposure (which turns it in to a 17 minutes exposure). I'm not sure if this is the case with i-Type film. I wonder if you have made long exposures with i-Type film and can provide some insight into this issue? Thanks!
Marco,Is this rule also applied to sx-70 without flash bar? (Probably not I think, I was told not shot in dark light situation with sx-70 because of its low ISO. But with flash as 600 type polaroid I think this rule works well.)
I have the Lomo Instant Wide and often get wildly inconsistent metering (mostly overexposure). Anybody else get this? Exposure is rock solid with my Fuji Instax Neo 90
When I took an image without flash, it came out blurry. Is that because my 600 camera uses a low shutter speed? Should I underexpose the light meter next time?
Hope all is good with you and your family! No need to thank us, just being supportive!
Very informational video, by the way! Something I never tried myself!

Yes, with digital you also have the option to change it in post.
What if after we’ve taken a Polaroid pic and it’s light how do we take that same picture and darken it
^^^^yes!!!! i want to save my polaroid its so pretty but its too dark, can someone tell how to fix it??
@@jaidab1646 please someone tell me too
@@jaidab1646 You cant sadly.

great to see you again! good that you took a break.
back to the video, now i know what i did wrong the last times....
yeah, it messed me up last time too ... was shooting a model infront of a black backdrop, no chance that the exposure would work right away
Welcome back! Loved the new video! Thanks for being awesome
Great video man, glad to see you're back.

+Nathan Severeijns Thanks Nathan, hope it was some use for you
Welcome back!!! :)
I would love to watch a review on Instax Square from you! Really appreciate the clarity and simplicity way you explain the camera quality.
i have one online already :)
OH BRU excellent! then I'll go find that one. Thanks a lot!
Perfect timing with this video💯 Thank you @analogthings :) I am hyped for the future content !😊
next one will be creative again
Analog Things I am always happy when you drop new videos :) So I am excited to see a creative video from you😊
Unfortunately there's no way to adjust on the new polaroid now camera which is autofocus and flash.
You can adjust the exposure
What is the unit of measure for exposures
So I slide it to the dark side in bright places and light side to dark places?
Ohhh I'm so thankful for that video ! That's what i was waiting for !
thats great

Absolute life saver, this is just the information I was looking for, thanks dude!

You should do a video on double exposures! =D

Great stuff! I look forward to your videos! Thank YOU.
I'd really love a video about travelling with film, especially when travelling in airplanes
good idea, i will try to connect with my airport friends

Hey Oliver, vielen lieben dank und ja es ist schon viel arbeit aber es macht mir auch spass und freut mich anderen menschen wissen zu vermitteln.

Can you take night shots with a Polaroid 600 camera?

I tried with magnifier in front of the lens, but the photos turned out just white. Will wait for further instructions from Mr. Marco. :)
I would really like a video on this subject too
have you been using the flash? if you use a closeup somehow you need to reduce the flash somehow and watch out that the glas is not in front of the flash
my sx 70 comes out over exposed every time what do i do?
I like you videos mate, thanks for sharing!
so more black lines in dat hole, the brighter the photo, the less black lines the darker the photo?
I was always wondering how this works with Polaroid cameras, so thank you very much for this great explanation! If you know how it works then it's not that hard but if you don't know how it works it's a bit like black magic :D
it's just a quick video and not that much into technical details but i hope it explains the basics well
I really love your work! Please keep up the good work!

yeah, thats most likely because there is not enought light and the exposure time gets longer
Nice video! Thanks ❤
My film keeps coming out white and I don't know why
Nice video! You are such an nice man!
thanks
More videos please !!!
working on it
Thank you 😄
I put the film pack in the hot sun for several hours
Very counterintuitive... To darken a shot I plus and to lighten I minus... WTF!
Really reminds me of Scrappy Coco...
