Thanks,Scott. It’s variable, sometimes the simplest tune can conceal tricky bits to get the rhythm or the harmony right. It’s hardly ever first take and most of the time I print out the dots, make notes and decide on the overall shape before recording. For the more complicated pieces with more than one instrument, it involves editing and mixing (and occasional cheating, taking a note from one take to use in another but that’s usually when I listen back and find a fluff that I’m not happy with.)

No, it’s a Northumbrian slow air by Archie Dagg. Comes out a bit more of a waltz the way I’ve played it here.
