Super impactful. I promise nothing in this videos would be mentioned unless I felt 100% sure about sharing it. Except for defensive assist strength 😂... but figured I’d mention that to you guys just because of previous years what I felt like it did for me
There’s a lot of badges this year that literally controls your player, making you do something you don’t want to do. Can’t say how many times my Glass Cleaning Lockdown was looking very goofy in the paint
@@DarkStarEdd nawh bruh I have hands up real life then hit the little jumps in front of whoever it is. This game be some time have you jump out of bounds.
@@jaasadlewis4827 Do the vertical contest and get pogo stick. You have no reason to complain if you dont do those things. Hands up defense in real life vs a same height or taller opponent wont work as well
This helped me a ton man. As a glass lock, I’ve been doing what worked for me in 19 and its just not it this year. Immediately after watching I got 12 blocks in a rec game. Subscribed
Defense is something that has to be practiced! I take pride in my defense shutting down sharp shooters, holding them below double digits in points make me smile really big! Once upon a time in the NBA Defense was played by everyone! You take some of these players in today's NBA, and set them in the 80's and 90's Era they would get shut down!!! Great video!
I’ve done an extensive amount of testing and I’ve found there are two types of ways to play optimally under the rim. Since you’re 6’11 it makes sense that hands up defense isn’t the move, it was the same in 2k19 if you played vs any post scorer that shoulder charged. If you’re 7-7’3” post move lockdown and moving truck on HOF make it so no one can ever back you down or score down low verses you. I only play hands up defense and I haven’t had any build posterize me yet (I’m 7 ft), but it requires 8 badge points as opposed to the 4 from pogo stick. To each his own though, the advise you’re giving is super sound. A lot of smaller centers are catching on to how strong pogo stick is.
Angelo Manzi yea facts, you’re right, the taller the easier hands up is to contest, especially if you’re comparing a 6’9 trying to finish against hands up on a 7’3
Great stuff, LF! Another tip: look at your player when you´re dribbling, the solid circle around the feet turns into dots when the ball is 'open', that´s the time when you´re most vulnerable to a steal. Try some of the most common dribble animations ( e.g. kobe sizeup, pro 3 bhb) to see when the dots appear and apply that to your on-ball defense for the perfect timing to get a right stick rip.
Malachi 81 I noticed that, I was looking into seeing the opponents circle on Defense, I was thinking lightning reflexes may work for it but it doesn’t look like it
To add on to this. Use a guard or edit a NBA player like curry to have the common "dribble god" signatures animations and dribble with them. You learn when to reach. And when not to. I noticed that the circle doesnt appear on human players, only AIs but if you know how the animations work you'll know when to reach. Snatch backs and hesitations are the easiest to rip in my opinion.
@@i_sharky I wouldn´t try to rip hesis on decent players, these are too easily chained into a momentum bhbs. If you´re reaching and he´s doing a hesi+bhb, you´re standing 10 feet away from him if the rip fails. Snatch backs and even RT+RS down escapes are fair game though.
Defense this year is so hard but the things you’ve gone over in this video are a few things I use as well but that pogo stick is low key the best badge!! Thank you. I’m a 6’9 Glass cleaning PF and I get soooo mad when I beat 7’2+ C to the box out and they end up snagging it over my guys head despite me being in better position and this will surely help
This is definitely a legit video. Especially when having to face the centers that spam backdowns on 1v1. Tried moving truck & it did nothing! Flicking hands up at the last second was my only chance of stopping them, but I'll definitely try these suggestions next time. I have a 6'7 3 level scoring SF btw.
Yo I was seriously debating Pogo stick cause I'm always jumping too much. Do you need it on HoF or nah? Like what do you think is the minimum you need for a big to see a difference. And can you explain how to swim past boxouts with Worm? Or make a video on it? I cant find any videos on it
Big Z to swim around boxouts, hold LT and push the left stick left or right and you’ll swim around it. the higher the worm badge is, the better it could succeed. but if your opponents Box badge is high, it could be tough.
