@@s4m1_ul I have two cats and I’m technically allergic. I have an air purifier that covers 300 sq ft and I don’t have too many issues with allergies since getting a few year ago.
Always take Benadryl when you have an allergic reaction like this. It can go from bad to worse and you just don’t know. And don’t hesitate to go to the school doctor or nurse!! I do know of one artist that developed an allergy to an oil paint medium and she had to switch to acrylics.
It’s actually so insane to me that she doesn’t realize how amazing her art is. Like she was talking about how all the other students in her class made like amazing art, but like, miss girl…. YOUR ART IS PHENOMENAL WTF
I would avoid any cosmetic products until things clear up. Maybe there’s an ingredient causing a reaction? Something that’s not normally an issue but is causing a flare up due to some combination of environmental factors? Can you get anyone on campus to deep clean your room? I would rent a carpet cleaner and get an air purifier if not. Maybe even clean the walls with a bleach solution. Definitely talk to your painting professor about the skin issue if it’s still a problem so you can rule out an allergy to any supplies. I hope you feel better soon. ❤ BTW your art is amazing!!! Don’t compare your output to anyone else. You earned your place at that school!
GIRL IF ITS NOT FOR YOU THAN LET IT GOO!!! art school is not what you need to be an artist, it is the most unconventional career ever and is fully made by your own path :)
That’s something that we all feel in the Art School , it’s hard but that doesn’t mean that isn’t for her or for us , she can! because the “Art world” is more difficult after the University, so we mustn’t give up.
As someone who's been thru art school, it's so true that the best part is the friends (and community) :') I took a 3 year Diploma and I loved it but it really is not for some people. A lot of artist are very digital nowadays and are successful, in that aspect you really don't need art school. This goes for anything but if it's making you miserable or it's sucking your passion away, just leave! I almost continued to a degree but really felt like it's not for me.
It’s so nice you have a room all to yourself and have the space for any large projects! I personally would have 2 fans going. It probably was the new lotion. Make sure you have Benadryl and see the nurse if it happens again! Thanks for sharing your first week back! And I hope you keep the videos coming
I literally have the exact same reactions on my face omg. Every time I move back into my apartment at college I have a bad reaction from the dust since they do not clean the apartments very well over the summer. I usually use a steroid cream for it but my pharmacy has been out for 2 weeks. I'm glad you figured out what was causing your reaction, I didn't make the connection for 2 whole years RIP
ooooh girl, I feel you!!! I still remember how the summer before 8th grade, I was actually happy with my skin for once when my dermatologist recommended a cleanser. I agreed because I really wanted the clear skin to stay. tldr I had the worst breakout in my entire existence even though the cleanser was supposed to be for skin prone to breaking out. It took so long to get it back to normal... I hope your skin gets better and that this year of art school is much easier on your soul :) take care of yourself!!
Never hesitate to take Benadryl. If that doesn't work see a doctor. If you can't afford a doctor... The school nurse is the next best thing. Don't let anything like this go on for too long, babes. That said... You look beautiful in glasses. Wear them more often. (:
I went to RISD for GD and graduated last year. Girl trust me, do not pay any mind to the pretentious people/professors 🤚🏼 do your thing and be yourself, you’ll be thankful later ♥️
what a hell of a first week back!! i hope that if the skin reaction hasn't calmed down by this point, you've hopefully seen a medical professional to help pinpoint the cause. i really appreciate you're taking the time to make these art school vlogs, I find them very entertaining (not that your skin flare up is entertainment!! :(((( )
If it is eczema, then you're not alone. I randomly got eyelid eczema this year (during a stressful time) and the flareups were the worst - itchiness, flakiness, redness, swelling, and pain when putting lotion on my face. I read colloidal oatmeal helps so I used some products with that and it eased up over time
Girl youre so pretty and so frikin talented!!!! Please dont give up!! Your art is absolutely amazing and your passion for it is extremely admirable!!!! U got thisss!!! ❤️❤️❤️
If I'm not wrong you can actually develop allergies as you get older so it might be something else if the lotion change doesn't fix your allergic reaction. Btw great video
Interesting to see how u are setting back in! I am starting my freshman year at KCAI right now so seeing fellow artists on this journey at the same time is always great.
yo i had the same type of reaction and mine was to sorbitol which is a sugar!! it just happened out of the blue and now i cant have stuff w sorbitol. your ice cream could’ve had it, a lot of desserts use it
also, toothpase i used & a skincare product i switched to had sorbitol in it (obv before i knew i was allergic) and that made it all puffy & weirdly old & wrinkly like that too
we should start an allergic to school club cause whenever I go to class I start having lots of snot issues, but like. only in class and once studying in the same building. my mom thinks they got new cleaning supplies since last semester
Just wanted to say that I get the pain of hating an art school lol but trying to get through it. I'm currently in my second year at Ringling College of Art and Design and I also hate it here loool. I really want to make it through, but time will tell. We both got this! I hope this gives you some solidarity that you're not alone and there's other ppl feeling the same way. At least that's what I felt when you expressed your emotions. Once again you got this! Have a great semester
Also hun please don’t force yourself to keep going to a place that makes you miserable you are incredibly talented and no matter what you do you are amazing ❤
Please take anti-histamines (like benadryl) and go to a doctor if the swelling continues!! Also try an air purifier in the meantime? Love your vlogs they are so relatable like actually so real... why is uni like this fr
You are an incredible artist. Never give up on this. I know you are going to achieve incredible things in your life. Your art is beyond incredible and so advanced. I hope you have an incredible day. Please take this advice and follow your passion. If art school is not for you, just remember that with how incredible you already are, you don’t really need it, but you could still benefit from it. Just do what makes you happy.
8:16 TA?! that’s awesome lady! And, as for your skin, u might want to stay clear of everything, especially steroid creams. From my experience I had to go through a period of not putting anything in my face. It was a struggle but my skin healed. Hope all is better, take care and keep up the good work 👍🏽
my second year of college my face swelled up in that exact same way. it was because of mold in the air vents yayyy i would recommend cold compresses and definitely taking allergy meds
“I hate it here” girl same 🥲 I also go to art school (not RISD), and as much as I love my friends and getting to do the cool things I am so fucking tired and would rather do something else with my life, I’m just here bc of the peer pressure 🙃
I will say, from experience, it may be the water too. When I moved to college, my skin got irritated especially on my eye lids too. I found out it was the water from the shower
I wanna just say, the biggest thing my professors have said is that sometimes if you accidentally like take in too much of a certai product, you can slowly become allergic to it, so take that how you will! just be careful pls😔
I'm from Texas and just last week got the same swelling and itching. I had it once before like 2 years ago around this time of year and it lasted for FOUR MONTHS. Super not fun. I'm still not sure what causes it, if it's a cruel twist on seasonal allergies or what but i just wanted to let you know i feel you ✊ Edit: Also i found that sleeping upright really reduces swelling. It's not the most comfortable thing but I think it's worth it.
look man im having a hard time returning to school (as a SENIOR???) psyichally and mentally ynow friends school classes art classes (and my soon to begin german classes :/) theyre starting to get to me and watching your videos on my day off really brings my mood (even if i have a year left to collage and im scared to death) so yeah love your content :)))
Hello!! im going to go to a Art school in around a year (or attempt to) and im really worried for it.. but seeing videos like this makes me feel somewhat calmer. I wish you, and others good luck!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS, sorry if you are not so happy tho because of the back to school 😅❤❤❤i just love the vlogs so much And sorry i laugh soooo hard when you showed up with an allergic reaction 😂😂😂😂😂😂
a new camileon video has hit the channel
the length of water wider than a strait, joining two larger areas of water, especially two seas?
im watching this vid on 9/11, was NOT expecting that lmao 😭😭
Stress can cause an inflammatory reaction but you may want to test the air quality in your new room. If its not allergies there might be mold.
Also get air purifiers help so much ngl
This!!!
SO. REAL. I have so many allergies that cause flare ups it's not even funny 😭
@@s4m1_ul I have two cats and I’m technically allergic. I have an air purifier that covers 300 sq ft and I don’t have too many issues with allergies since getting a few year ago.
Definitely get that room checked for air quality. My wife got asthma bc of mold in her dorm.

So true! Great advice because allergies can literally kill you.
She moved to a new room and it started , 100 the low ceiling she is sleeping under , must be fungy , mold
She always looks like she's about to cry. This is so real ❤
That's literally so real
her eyes glow sm😭😭
The “Daddy’s home!” Sign made me cackle.
It’s actually so insane to me that she doesn’t realize how amazing her art is. Like she was talking about how all the other students in her class made like amazing art, but like, miss girl…. YOUR ART IS PHENOMENAL WTF
Wow being offered a TA position means you must have really impressed your teacher last semester! Congrats!
omg girl ur not alone with the wholw itching and swelling thing it’s been happening to me for 2 WEEKS
NOOOO
Please go to the doctor, I beg

If it's not the lotion. I would ask for another mattress and beddings. If it don't get better then there might mold in the room or the pipes.
im studying for art school next year watching your school videos makes me so motivated!!!! thank youuuuu!!!!!!!!11
