Paul Reed Smith S2 Standard 24 - Review And Pro Audio Demo - This Guitar Is Cool, Funky And Perfect!

- In this video we take a look at the Paul Reed Smith S2 Standard electric guitar,. I must admit, at first glance, I was a litttle put off from the guitar, it just didn't look like the type of guitar. would play or that it would be able to deliver the sonic goods that I look for in my weapons of choice. But don't let the conservative and traditional look fool you! This guitar packs a punch and plays as sweet at sugar. The tone and playability of this guitar are outstanding. It reminds me a little of a Gibson SG with the satin feel and neck radius. It has the bit of an SG or Les Paul but also feels comfy like a strait. The 5 way blade splits the hum buckers so you can get some really chimey and usable tones from it as well. You can reach the high frets easily which makes this guitar suitable for all styles of music. It may not look like a shredder, but this guitar can keep up with the best of them. I hope you enjoy the video, thanks for watching. Please subscribe!

Awesome review and beautiful guitar. A bit of a correction to the info you shared, the pickups in your guitar are actually the USA-made 58/15 LT pickups (you can tell by the engraving on the pickups), a new revision to the specs for this year and a HUGE improvement over the old 58/15 "S" pickups that used to come in last year's model, which are Indonesian made.
Nice. Great jam…. You’re inspiring dude.
Thanks so much man! 😎🎸
Marty…come over my house and dial in my amp…pleeeez, I’ll pay ya…your tone is always incredible 🤘
De todas las muestras.. Esta suena fantástica. Excelente. Brillante sonido.me gusto ese fraseo.
😎 cool! If only they had all these guitars back in the 70s!! Even some cheap imports are good build platforms nowadays! 🤘thanks Marty 😊
True that man! This guitar actually reminds me of something that would have come out of the 70's. It's got that earthy looks and it's got a lot of raw power on tap!
It sure looks, sounds, and acts like a Les Paul and a Stratocaster had a love child. Nice playing, Marty!
That's a great analogy 😁🙏
Hey Marty, have you heard of Alameda guitars and the off Kiltertron pickups? @@Ranch5150SkinWalker
Hi Marty, those last two comments were for a carpentry short. I didn't realize your comment section was still open on the bottom , sorry.
fantastic playing marty
Looking to add a Custom 24 to my collection Paul's making the best guitars for the $$ these days no question about it nice playing Marty that thing is really chimey 👏👍🤘👽
I like the guitar. Stellar playing there Marty, some Eric Johnson sounding runs. Was expecting some McAuley Schenker or maybe Michael Schenker riffs once I spotted that U.F.O. 🤔😁. Ranch 5150 Skinwalker again... 😮👾🐺
Nice Santana tone to that minor blues your playing Marty! I hope they let you keep it.
Thanks so much man! 😁🎸
Cool looking/sounding axe. 😎
The PRS is a beautiful Guitar. A bit pricey.. But I m more the $200 modification platform guitar 🎸🎶 person. This is close to the max I would pay for a guitar done $,1400 to $1,600 depending on where you purchase it. Your playing is Awesome
Cheers 🍻 🥃 🥃 🎸 🎶🎶🎶🎶
you can find used ones from a few years back for the price of the se's
I tuned in to hear the sounds of the PRS S2 STANDARD 24, but what I was treated with was a "Great Guitarist " who happens to be playing on a "Great Guitar"
24 is the year I believe.
yes
The 24 is because there are 24 frets. There is a 22 fret model too, the Standard 22.
@@philmurray9894 no clown! You have no idea what you’re talking about either!!! Just shut up!!
@@philmurray9894yes there are a 22 and a 24 model but the 24 on the headstock is the year. I just checked a picture of a 22 for sale on sweetwater and it has a 24 mark
The 24 in the serial number means the guitar was made in 2024. This UA-camr didn’t do his homework. He didn’t even know that this model doesn’t come with a push/pull button!
Was that thing as much fun to play as it looked? Would love to hear your thoughts.
It's a great guitar man. It's a bit rustic looking for me, but it's a fine guitar and sounds/play excellent.
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker nice!
This guitar is the only PRS I could afford, but it still costs too much considering that I can't split the pick ups individually and that the pick ups of an American made guitar are made in Indonesia. I prefer G&L
the guitar in this video has american pickups and electronics. all of the new s2 standards do. he misspoke when he said they had "s" pickups. the previous years do. I personally like the way my 85/15"s" pickups sound in my s2 standard that i got new for $850 in 2019. also on the older ones, there is only a three way switch, and you can pull the tone knob out to split coils.
@@1997Ghost I saw that in the 2024 models there are American pickups. But here in Italy it is difficult to find them to try these guitars. Thank you
Does the pickguard come off or is it attached to the electronics like a strat?
Yep that's a guitar
Yeh man! 😎🎸
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker I like the chamfered edges of the body
Its not 58/15 " S " anymore on 2024
I pulled it from the PRS web at the time 🤷
@@Ranch5150SkinWalkerit's 58 15 LT
What is with your mic. Some kind of em interference or something.
seriously!!!!!!!! dude the 24 on the back of the headstock refers to the year made not number of frets!!!!!!! can't believe prs sent you a guitar to review that you know nothing about!!!!
I guess they should have sent you the guitar, the all knowing guitar god.. and they sent it so he could run a sound test, which was pretty good.
Paul is going to go down as the greatest guitar builder in history
😂😂😂Ok
Truth. He started something special many years ago and keeps innovating and the quality and specs are top notch.
It definitely has a subdued look but obviously delivers the goods I the right hands. When I was college age I thought if I ever had any disposable income someday I'd own a PRS. Neither has occured😢
