Thanks for the video, I'm in Melbourne city now, looked around Fitzroy where I was born and brought up, Great memories & thanks for showing me some routes I'd forgotten about, Cheers 😊
Question, at 19:13 can drivers make a right turn? And at 27:21 that black SUV is not making a correct hook turn right? I assume you only turn when the side you're going is green but I don't see any other cars going straight after the SUV turned. Just asking because I am about to go to Melbourne and I need to rent a car for the 12 Apostles.
First of all, you are driving on left side of the road in Australia. Neither left nor right turn you can do when you face a red light. The black SUV you mentioned is not at an intersection with hook turn. Here is a link you can learn how to perform hook turn properly in Melbourne: ua-cam.com/video/Yh92LirlCf8/v-deo.htmlsi=NttVSGVd8Foj2pOv And have fun driving the Great Ocean Road. ua-cam.com/video/EUDuJ8x6wFM/v-deo.html
@@roamingNwatching Ah thanks for the response, so if there are no indication of a hook turn I am assuming I can make a right turn like the SUV, but will the Trams signal lights also be green or red? I am just wondering if I not only have to watch opposing traffic but also a tram coming up behind me. Lots of things to pay attention to. As for the hook turn I noticed it could only fit two cars so what happens if I am the third car do I just wait at the intersection block all the cars behind me?
@@Zergcerebrates Of course you have to look around to make sure everything is clear before you make a turn at an intersection. If there is no place at hook turn waiting area, you should wait behind the stop line doesn't matter how many cars behind you.
