To understand the meaning of the lyrics of the swan song, we need the historical background of "Chopin's Etude Op.10-12" (also known as Revolutionary Etude). During his journey, Chopin learns that Poland's "November Revolution", which resisted the rule of the Russian Empire, failed. The Polish dynasty was also destroyed and he lost his place to return. After that, Chopin announced his "Revolutionary Etude Op.10-12". SWAN SONG is a song dedicated to the warriors who fought to regain freedom with the country. The composer Miyako (guitar & piano) studied classical piano from the age of 3 and graduated from music college. Asami (vocal), who has been studying classical ballet since the age of two, wrote the lyrics with the image of "Swan Lake". And all the members thought about the arrangement, and this masterpiece was born. Their playing skills and musical sensibilities are extraordinary.
Meet Miyako. One of the greatest musicians in the world. She plays piano since the age of 3, shreds on guitar since the age 18 (she is 31 right now), plays bass and drumms a little bit. She is a composer also, she can sing, has her own home studio and she made two guitars on her own. There is nothing that this beautiful girl cant do. Miyako is one of a kind. Her beauty and musical talent are a gift from God himself to metal music. The whole band is best thing that happened to metal in the last 30 years, but Miyako is my favorite from all of them for this obvious reasons.
We often talk about this bands Top Shelf Musicianship and Performances. But their Writing is the Real Star. My goodness the amount of Advanced and Pleasant sounding Music Theory they employ is Off the Charts. This band is Superb in Every Respect.

Today a parcel from japan arrived. It contents several of LOVEBITES Blu-rays and T-Shirts. From now on i regard myself as a member of the wolfpack. This is one of the best performances to show the superb musicianship this band has.
I’ve been looking for Lovebites tshirt myself along with some other bands because I need to revamp my collection to include a many more Japanese artists.
Miyako, who composes a lot of their music, is a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and we now see the result. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). All five members of the band are Jedi-level musicians, but I think Miyako is a once-in-a generation talent, a true savant. And no, you are not wrong. This is an unprecedented band, and this performance is a genuine masterpiece.
There are other really good bands out there that I listen to but to me Lovebites is the perfect band. They never disappoint, they always play at the top of their ability and their lyrics are uplifting. Lovebites bring love and joy and I love them all. I love your reactions to them and I see that you feel what I feel
They are so complicated in there sound that they pull in all of the great stuff from every direction from so many different bands plus their own personal spin on things that makes them so unique and one-of-a-kind
This song is such a masterpiece, unique. That old school vibe you talked about reminds me heavily Rainbow's Spotlight Kid, that rushed speed of drum n' bass with guitars is just breathtaking.

Miyako played on a white Roland's electronic piano for the first time in this live. So she said that she had a hard time because it was very hard to play. It was not a satisfactory performance for her. (It sounds great to me😅) In my most recent live performance, I switched to a real grand piano, and this performance is still much better. It expresses the ups and downs of emotions more and has a different dimension from an electronic piano. You can see a little bit of it in the official trailer video of the live dvd, so check it out.
Musicians are always the toughest critic’s. So many times artist will go back and listen to an album and all the here are their mistakes instead of the beauty that came out of it
Someone just uploaded *Spellbound* from their latest show. You might want to check that. On the song, yeah, Asami also plays the piano and has done sometimes when Miyako is busy in some dual solo with Midori. But Miyako is not someone who plays the piano, she is on a professional level at it.
Some people say that they are redefining metal or that they are from another planet. Others say that it’s a crime that two of the best guitarists in the world are in the same band. If you want nice piano and nice vocals I suggest “Empty daydream”, “Epilogue” and “Edge of the world” (all live, from concerts “Five of a kind, Zepp Divercity, Tokyo, 2020” and “Daughters of the dawn”, Tokyo 2019)
I think it’s the bands that wanna guitarist of that level that are the ones complaining that there are two in the same band LOL. Lovebites is definitely special
LOVE this one with the Chopin prelude, because it's the only one we have on public record that has the Chopin piece. All other recordings (so far) do not have it! It rounds out so well with the Swan Song. Got a suggestion for you for the next one: Burden of Time Studio Live version. Watch for Miyako during the solos. :-)
Miyako took the Romantic classics and blended them into this song (Asami got to show off her ballerina moves) and even dropped the piano in during the song on a backtrack but made sure to finish off with the piano. The composition, writing and arranging in this band is just stunning when you step back from them,. Brilliant writing, arranging and playing. The key here is that whatever these geniuses and Miyako (musical savant) can come up with this band can actually play it flawlessly LIVE that is the real genius of this group. Metal and Classical music never sounded so great and the piano is central to this group in many songs. Empty Daydream, Epilogue, etc.. to name a few. Miyako has been at it since age 3 on the keys (think she has mastered it), but Midori also started on the piano and organ at an early age but gave it up to learn guitar. Haruna started on piano but ended up on the drums (I can't get the picture of her breaking pedals and keys playing the piano out of my head). Even Asami can play a few songs on the keys but she is more in the "normal" league with the rest of us mortals. Great reactions and as we said this band defies genre labels, they play whatever they want and do it to perfection. The debate, does Miyako play the keys or the guitar better....my vote who cares she is stunning on both and lest we forget Midori carried that long solo so Miyako could get back to the piano to finish this off, and Haruna just kept going and going, I swear the Energizer Bunny is exhausted just watching her!!!
I still prefer this performance of Swan Song to their newest. To me the real grand piano used during "Ride for Vengeance" tour; although carrying a full beautiful tone, sounded extremely drowned out while the other instruments were playing; it certainly lacked the clarity and punch of the digital Roland. I'm not sure if it needed to be mic'd up better or what... Regardless, Lovebites performed Miyako's masterpiece flawlessly in both versions :)
I didn't conquer the piano either or the guitar, not like Miss Miyako San ! The lady is special & I have a hugh soft spot in my heart for her !❤🎹🎸😎👌 Happy Friday, Music Mayham !!
The funny thing about music though is that you can always go back and continue to play and learn different things. I think musicians are always learning.
When asked about the piano she used, she said it was rental and she did not like it. It had plastic keys and in electronic. Her personal piano her parents bought for her and she used her Xmas money to upgrade the keys. At 17/18 yo she decided to play the guitar, she just did. No formal lessons. In an interview of Asami (vocals) talking about Miyako's idiosyncrasies, Asami said every family should have a Miyako!!

Saintly and glorious

You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
Oh brave soldier
