Ford Field is built into the side of a preexisting warehouse, so most of the suites are stacked on one side. This means none of the regular seats are nosebleeds. University of Michigan's football stadium is well known but the hockey team plays in a more unique venue. Yost Ice Arena was originally built as a fieldhouse and kinda looks like a barn, inside the seats do not curve around at the corners like most hockey rinks. And it has a very active and loud student section.
Marina Bay is also used for the Formula 1 race. Part of the track goes around the grandstands between the floating football field and the seating. You can see the red and white corner markers in the video.
Fun fact about Estadio Ciudad de La Plata: none of the teams supposed to share it actually play there. They each have their own stadium (Estudiantes completely rebuilt it in 2019) and choose to play there.
The Float's pitch is floating pontoon on the river. And the backdrop of the pitch is the Singapore business district skyline and Marina Bay Sands. Check it out on Google Earth 3D view.
Imagine when ever the Chargers or NFL expansion decides to come to San Diego, they should totally build the stadium like in the thumbnail on the harbor now that would be cool.
One that's waaaaaaay (and I mean way) under the radar but bizarre is Solomon Islands national stadium. Barely any real seating and one whole side of it is this steep hillside lawn where people chill out and watch the match.
Check out Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. Same designers as Avaya/Earthquakes Stadium, but the roof is patterned to look like a bourbon barrel. The lighting structures on the roof are also distinct.
I can think of another 'Siamese Stadium'. TD Place Stadium and Arena in Ottawa, Canada. Originally the arena was known as the Ottawa Civic Centre and the stadium was Lansdowne Park until corporate sponsors took over. The arena has an unusual seating configuration because of the north stand of the football stadium. The south stands of the football stadium had to be rebuilt because the previous stand was declared condemned after a FIFA U20 tournament in 2007.
What is about NK Imotski stadium, HNK Trogir stadium, NK Rijeka stadium, HNK Hajduk stadium (built in 1979., first, oldest and original one of this type stadium)?
Love the videos! However, the stadium in San Jose is home to a team called the “San Jose Earthquakes”. The logo you put was of a defunct team “Club Deportivo Guadalajara” of Liga MX. The name of this stadium is Avaya Stadium.
@Greg Bray i was there last saturday for the johan cruijf schaal in the away end and was reminded why it's so terrible. roof closed makes this a sauna and it's so boring in everything. no atmosphere either.
Uhmmm . . . your usually droll comments in ither videos fall flat on this one. Also, your diminishing the Stockhol, Olympic Stadium just as a sub of Melbourne 1956 is a cheap shot and VERY INCORRECT. It was an Olympic Stadum on its own in 1912 -- the Games where Jim Thorpe became famous. And when it staged the Equestrian events of 1956, they were in June 10-17, a few months before the main body of the competition was held in Melbourne in October. Thus, how could something be called an "adjunct" to another set of games half a world away when it happened WITHOUT incident some 4 months before the other part of the 1956 Summer Games (and by which time it wasn't summer in Melbourne anyway when they staged the Games. It was their winter down there.) So you might stop sacrificing FACT for some cutesy comments. Not becoming at all.
Respect from a lifelong huge corruption fan
To each their own. I've just never really been into it.

High school stadium in New Jersey, has football and baseball combined. It's on top of the high school

The stands of the Float at Mariana Bay Stadium are also used in the F1 Street Circuit
The Formula 1 circuit runs past the float as well. Such a multi purpose venue !
Since Harvard Stadium was not used this past season, maybe they let the ivy grow back on the walls.
The music in the background is sooo iconic lmao

Montreal Olympic stadium is pretty unique with the tallest inclined tower in the world jutting out of it.
Been in there 100’s of times. It is unique for its crapiness
Imagine when ever the Chargers or NFL expansion decides to come to San Diego, they should totally build the stadium like in the thumbnail on the harbor now that would be cool.

Cierny Balog Stadium in Slovakia, with a railway within the stadium. Or Mmabatho Stadium in South Africa with a weird and unique architecture.
The “float” reminds me of Jones Beach Amphitheater in a NYC neighborhood.
Yes, the Nikon at Jones Beach on Long Island. Don’t think it’s a floating stage but similar nonetheless.
The stadium in singapore has only one side seating as it is for formula 1 the roads are part of a street circuit and thats a grandstand
Could you make another video of part two? Also can you do the best stadiums of each nation, as well as continents ?
Thanks for the suggestions! I probably will make all those videos eventually.

The Weserstadion. It's a solar powerplant with huge lithing thing at a river

The Earthquakes' stadium might not look like a natural disaster, but their team certainly plays like they were hit by one.
That made me chuckle.
Vaillant Arena (Davos, Switzerland) & Grand Palais (Paris, France)

Love the donation plea for the Russian stadium 😂😂
No mention of the Monaco stadium?
02:40 Yes, it is!
love your work, just found you
Thanks!
I think you missed Sparta Stadion "The Castle" in Rotterdam and Stadion Kantrida in Rijeka. Both are pretty unique.
First time I saw the float was when I was in Singapore Flyer
Okay, is it me? Or does the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata looks like something else on top? I know i'm not the only one...
Haha! I did notice that during editing.
@@TheWideWorldofStadiums Lol i noticed it as soon as I looked at it. I was like "Wait is that what I think it is?"
What
It looks like BEWBS man
Should have included el paso college football stadium!
Monaco's track stadium.

Henningsvær Stadium in Norway.

How are you liking tyranny?
Harvard ivy League
What about the stadium in Chester England/Wales. The only stadium I know in the world that is in 2 countries
Amsterdam arena? for being an ugly concrete bowl.

I enjoy the videos but the tedious 'humour' isn't needed
Stop with the horrible "jokes"
