two drink holders in the captain's chair
Four of five people sitting comfortably
Electric windows, electric doors.
Pull the lever to adjust the seat
We're all ridin' in a Mini Van.
Four or five people sitting comfortably.
I produce "YOURSELF presents", and I edited this video--It was fun having Mark on the show, and a sweet surprise to see it on UA-cam. The effects were on an Amiga "video toaster", unfortunately no longer available. Thanks for posting it!
Howard Anshell Amazing! Thanks for sharing your story (and for producing this gem of a video too)!
Was the equipment from The Loft or did Mark bring his own?
Electric windows...electric doors
+gconneely92 close your doors your orifice and windows, the night insides
I like how you can hear the keys - the digital equivalent of the finger sliding on a guitar string
Pulling the lever to adjust the seat
The close-up where he starts really losing himself in the music is what swept me off my feet.
Damn, all this time I thought Tim and Eric were ripping off Kraftwerk. Greetz to Mark Salud from a computer weirdo too young for the Amiga but who just made a tribute to Florian Schneider with Pico-8. "Am Heimcomputer sitz ich hier, Und programmier die Zukunft mir".
Dude, this is awesome! I definitely wanna meet that dad.
The Dadtones
I was just thinking of Mark just now while looking for some Creative Commons music. I knew him pretty well 20 years ago. He used to do a lot of music with this program called OCTA MED.
Rule #1 of the internet: Mark Salud songs are NEVER too long.
When I saw Minivan Highway on Tim and Eric years ago, I about crapped myself in disbelief. It was like learning your partner had grown up eating the same knock off brand of food they no longer make.
Benchmark performance in the complete history of electronic music. I don't know if anyone knew it at the time this was made that they were going to capture pure gold. Everything from the video editing to the live qwerty keyboard musical performance inside a tracker makes this video simply magnificent. This event is up there with Woodstock Live Aid etc. My favorite musical event ever!
Ive watched this video many many times but never been able to articulate just how good this is - benchmark is the perfect summation.
Thanks to uploader, mark and video director. Top work all
As someone who was also making tracked music at the time, I cannot get past how I literally never understood the point of being able to play notes with an instrument while the song was playing--the idea of using the tracker itself as a performance platform is so obvious yet I somehow missed it, haha.
if commodore had hired this guy to do a coast-to-coast mall tour the amiga would have been a massive success in the US.
Darn, latest Commodore managers would be unable to sell ice in the desert :(
I recognize some of the video wipes (and titles & effects?) in this video--they're from a Video Toaster! All-Amiga technology in this video, yay!
Makes me wanna power up my Amiga 500 I have in storage currently... ;)
Salud is only warming up with Forever in Summer. Instantly Magic is where this virtuoso really shows his true potential
This guy was so ahead for his time.
So ahead of his time, his parents haven't met yet.
G 0.5 MacOS?
Mark Salud is, was, and will forever be. He is a self-evident truth.
beautiful stuff
This shit still bumps in 2024 Even at 240p
I would buy that album if Mark had more songs like this ...
Two drink holders and a captain's chair.....
I still use trackers! :)
holy fuck this is good shit.
this is so nice
Thank you for sharing this. I need to hear more of his creations.
Electric windows electric doors
Instantly Magic is where it's at
Alex Reynish Yeah, I ripped that track and listen to it unironically pretty frequently. The first song is like "bleh" but then he BLOWS THE ROOF OFF
there is nothing better
I like how the camera guy walks away after awhile.
this is like those launchpad videos before launchpads
MARK SALUD FOREVER
probably one of the best
it's like this guy put yellow magic orchestra into a light up box
YES CHILDREN, IT IS DUPSTEBS.
Ah I remember Yourself, the duo. This reminds me I've got to get crackin' on my MAX/MSP music software project some day.
i bet it would take forever to sort this midi file
This is amazing. All music videos should be like this.
Gotta love those camera transitions.
thanks Pea - i missed this clip. Best use of room mic ever!
thank you gods of youtube
This is really beautiful
2021 Needs to hear this
If you added a more defined backbeat it is basically early 90's techno music. Especially the second one.
this is some next level shit
wow, 6:17 really is the highlight of this piece, i love it
This song should be in a cracktro.
chupa thingy What up, been a fan for a while. Glad you also respect the masters
This will be my new rickroll
This is so sweet..
It's OctaMED Professional, an amiga tracker.
protracker 4 life
Octamed Soundstudio, rather
Protracker was more the Scene-choice
So you're the infamous Mark Salud, eh? Playing a tracker live on public TV...I must say, that's probably more than I'd care to try!
How old is this, and are you still into tracker music?
@tvpmark Good work! I love it!
2nd song is a freakin headrush
Infinite sadness.
Before Gangnam was even a style biotches!
instant summer
Fuggin Rock Out!!!
nice one =) and the second part was great!
best part are the cut scenes & transition affects.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!
This is so fucking cool
love the original 4 channel mod sound! One had to be clever to get good music out of the format.
2 cup holders and a captains chair!
Fuck Yes!
Go Mark!
yeah...totally
that's not Soundstudio, but one of the earlier version of Octamed. ... version 5.
It sounds like the go team
Caesar? ❎
Mark? ✅
🥗🥗🥗
I like more the second song.
The different voices are so out of tune, but I can't stop listening to this...
lol - yep ok.... it says Octamed (Pro) and v.5 at the top of the screen.
I just noticed it's not Soundstudio, which has a different sound engine i know some people dont like.
I dont think there was a version -not- marked "professional" that wasnt simply called "MED" was there? I nly got into it myself from version 4.
🐸

What year was this originally shot?
Jim Leonard i don't know the exact year, but early 1990s. I probably saw it first around 1994-95.
Dope! Where's the v a p o r w a v e RM_X_ぜんそくのAMIGA2000
All that you need to do, is set the speed to 0.5 for the first song, and 1.25 for the second song.
it reminds me of a neptunes tune
minivan highway
