Hello Shridharji,
Nottuswarams are indeed a beautiful contribution by Dikshitar, for beginners. These are all sung in Shankarabharanam. Nottuswarams are generally sung with pure notes, since these sanskrit versus blended in western tunes. They can be sung in a faster tempo, rather than making talam varaiations. Geethams, which from a part of Abhyasaganam, bring in the flavour of each ragam, that they are composed in and can be sung in different speeds for a better comprehension of both Talam and Ragam.
I have sung all the notuswarams in Scale 'A'
