- Here it is; the Let's Play of another childhood favorite of mine, the original 1993 version of "Richard Scarry's Busytown!" I had this version as a kid (for MS-DOS). You will recognize quite a bit of the gameplay and dialogue from the 1999 remake, except the voices and graphics aren't as good (they just had one guy voice everyone, and I can tell you that he's no Mel Blanc.)
In this part, we work for Dr. Diane, the worst doctor in Busytown. Seriously, Dr. Diane's answer to every sore area or injury or boo-boo is to put a bandage on it! But what if you had an even worse problem? How did she get her doctors' degree anyway?
THEN we join Huckle Cat as he works for a delivery company, delivering goods in a pickup truck. The problem? Huckle is underage and doesn't know how to drive! So he keeps getting into accidents around the town, and Sergeant Murphy has to keep pulling him over!
Lol thanks so much for uploading this. Dr. Diane = my elementary school nurse, except replace bandage with ice pack.
"DOC, MY APPENDIX HAS BURST!"
"I'll put a bandage on it."
And then I'll say to her, "It doesn't need a bandage!"
"Ouch! Now it hurts on my... crotch."
TRAUMATIZED FOREVER
Dr. Diane sounds like Meowth from "Pokémon." XD
"Doc, Bruno's Deli made me so hungry, I had hot dogs, popcorn, cookies & lemonade & it made me puke!"
"I'll put a bandage on it!" LOL!
Doctor, I have a brain aneurysm that'll burst at any moment!
I'll put a bandage on it!
Heh, the constant repetition of "i'll put a bandage on it" annoyed my parents when I had this game.
My kids had this game and it annoyed me too.
I question that doctor's medical license.
"Doctor he's been diagnosed with cancer!"
"Ill put a bandage on it!"
9:09 Don Adams IS Inspector Gadget!
Dr Diane performing surgery: “The knee bones connected to the something. The something’s connected to the red thing. The red thing’s connected to my wristwatch...uh oh!”
To this day I still randomly shout "I'll Put a Bandage on It!" 😂😂 I annoyed the crap out of my mom with the audio and for some reason it would still play audio with the speakers turned off. I swore it was cursed.
Me: Dr Dian! I've dislocated my elbow! Dr Dian: I'll put a bandage on it. Me: WHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT???????!!!!!!!
I never realized that you were supposed to go slowly over the pothole, I just figured that those deliveries were impossible to make
"YOU DIDN'T EVEN INSPECT IT!" Did I just hear Daffy say that?
How come the medicine's still in the spoon? Does Dr. Diane keep the medication sit in the spoon at all times? That might make someone puke!
SCREEEEEAAAAM
THE DELIVERY GAME WAS MY FAVORITE
I always got fed up as a kid and put one of the long bandages on Lowly. :D
It was funny how Lowly would drawl, "I'm all wrapped up! Bye now!"
this guy would be great at CinemaSins.
Ahh shut up at 8:52 lmfao
Where exactly did Dr. Diane go to school to get her diploma? Quack University? Also, does that patient even have adequate health insurance, cause that's got to be one really expensive medical bill.
I always found it odd that they played that part of the song at the beginning of the game instead of the chorus, which sounds more musical. I do suppose it changes the feeling and they wanted to make it sound more like complaining to the doctor rather than making it sound like a magical place that makes you well. But is there an edition where they sang the chorus part?
Just what I was expecting it. Thanks a lot. 7:25
It'd be great if there were a healing spell on those bandages. That way, the part that has a problem can be healed in a flash.
Where did Dr. Diane get her medical degree from?
What were the producers thinking? Huckle can't drive! He is too young!
Uh, Huckle drives in Busytown Mysteries. Anything wrong with that?
I heard in the new version, Murphy sounds a bit funny when he says "Pull over!"
YIKES!
Man is that so many bandages and bandages the doctor had to put onto the elephant. That elephant must of hurt himself so badly.
that guy's body is basically hurting everywhere!
Delivery Truck characters Getting wrong Items: Oops! that does not belong here!
9:34 - That hole hazard wasn't reused in the 1999 version of this game.
The creature from the hydrant looks like a frog!
Doctor Diane might be actually from New York, and the elephant might be a hypochondriac. Now I see why the Delivery Truck's a disaster! LOL!
She got her degree at Dumbdoctor University.
Or maybe from Quack University!
Dr. Diane actually teaches you about the body parts.
Toony the Loon's Toons that still doesn't justify her shes a incompetent doctor
PUT A BANDAGE ON IT
I always LOLd at the I'll put a bandage on it part
Hilda and a rabbit are eating a burger.
pretty sure this elephant has munchausen's
They let a kid drive the delivery truck?
ok i had that original 1993 but how on earth am i gonna stream that?
You can use a DOS emulator of some kind. On the Mac I use Boxer, which is similar to DOSBox but simplifies the installation of DOS games.
I'm just wondering, is Dr. Diane married to the male doctor, Dr. Lion? I'm wondering that because they're both doctors and they're both lions and I'm wondering if she goes by her first name so as not to get her confused with her husband
Maybe.
And it hurts on my......brain!
I'll put a bandage on it.
rub some bacon on it
I laught my ass off
