More efficient use of the wood and a more flexible sort ....to the point were the mills are programing the cutters for what they want right off the stump. Easier on the forest floor you leave all the brush in the woods and normally delimb over the cut road to build a brush mat for forwarding over. Cleaner wood for the mill because you're not dragging it around. Only need x2 operators instead of three, or if you have a combi harvester/ forwarder one man can do both jobs with one machine ( though slower)
looking about 3m length? Quite standard for firewood, pulpwood and some lower quality milling wood. Also birch veneer is often ordered either 3,1 to 3,4m long, again quite standard. Baltics and Nordics are not like USA or Australia where timber is measured by truck's odometer :D
Mait Mägi Here in finland most of the trees are cut 4.1-5.7 long depending on the trees height and size. After transporting the saw mills cut the wood to length. Lower guality wood for paper and cartong 2,7-5.6 meters long. birch veneer 5,7.4-6,7 and saw cuts it to lenght like 127 etc. Its easy to transport when its longer
Great video! Is anyone interested in logging equipment operators jobs? Our company IVEY Group is currently looking for 4 operators. Feel free to reach out to me.
It definetly won't break those road surfaces when driving without tracks but man it is slippery when little frozen!
I really wonder what’s the advantage of this rather then a fellabuncher/skidder/processor operation !seems slow to me

Why not have the cab following your grab movement, saves getting neck pain and gives a better view when loading.
Gdzie te skilsy bo ich nie widać 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why are the trees cut to those short lengths?
Lenght, according to customers' desire.

Priima, bet važiuojant nelabai kas gaunasi, per daug juda vaizdas. Nebent kai kraunasi medieną.
