- From "The Rage: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" this new music video for "In The Forest Deep" features the dark, orchestral, horror music stylings of Midnight Syndicate. The song recently appeared on 2020's "Music of Halloween Horror Nights" limited-edition vinyl released by Universal Orlando.
The movie, "The Rage (2007)", is a gory, over the top, drive-in thriller, from Robert Kurtzman ("From Dusk till Dawn," KNB EFX, "Wishmaster") starring Andrew Divoff and Erin Brown and Reggie Bannister. It is currently available on Amazon Prime.

Some trivia about the song... "In The Forest Deep" was originally written as the opening title/main theme for the film. Although it does not appear in the film, it was included on the soundtrack. Some trivia about the music video... The masked "puppet master" in the video is known as Dominion. Dominion first appeared on the packaging for Midnight Syndicate's self-titled debut in 1997 and the subsequent multimedia live shows supporting that album in 1998.

OH, from one music lover to another, I wanted to give you two a link for a "Vampire Love Song." It's from a film still newish with Milo Ventimiglia, one of the fellas from the Heroes TV show. Anyway, it ended up being a great modern tale of a human-vampire romance and its theme is beautiful, haunting and as sexy as the film on screen. I thought you might appreciate it too. It isn't quite the same as say "Only Lovers Left Alive," but still a wonderful and sexy film.

A lot of symbolism in this. I kind of get the feeling that there's a story to tell here. You guys are truly masters of your craft and I don't know that I've heard a tribal feel to your music before. I mostly dwell on your earlier music.
Yes, there's always a story (often a bit open-ended) on all of Dave's videos (that would be "Noctem Aeternus" and "Goons and Greasepaint" as well). It's interesting you mention that as this song WAS really different for us at the time. It was written for the opening credits of "The Rage" movie and not for a Midnight Syndicate album per se... so the movie itself required us to bring a little different textures to the table. Thanks for the compliments!
