Most times they shoot in 12+ hour shifts. Imagine trying to do Choreography at 4 a.m.? The set building, the re-takes. It's amazing to see it done.

As you've seen by now their videos are visual overload, but I wanted to point something out that most people don't catch. If you watch the video right after Rosé's red dress scene ( 10:58 in your reaction) you see the girls walking down a hallway with a triangular shaped door sliding towards them. They are actually inside the temple that you see during the final dance break. At 11:05 they emerge from the temple while the door is still moving forward, and when the dance break starts you can see the door finally seal the temple closed! By the way the set is based on a Korean temple design.

My family thinks I am insane, but I heard BLACKPINK 2 years ago and fell down the BP and KPop rabbit hole and may never find my way out! 😂. You guys should try GIDLE next. They are getting HUGE! They write and produce all their songs. Very talented. I would start with: “TomBoy”, “My Bag”, “Nude”, and some new songs from the past week off their new 100% English album- “I Do” is beautiful. There are 2 versions of the video - do the one which is more like a move with a boy who meets aliens that are the girls from the band (the other version is on top if a NYC hotel at night, also cool). Their latest song/video last week is called “I Want That” and is a cinematic quality story of women fighting back against abusive men, but the song is a GREAT dance song!

When the ladies sing the 'Ddu Ddu Du' line, they point finger guns. Rose' was born of Korean ancestry but she was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia (she counts herself as Australian which is what she sounds like when she speaks English). Aussies are tough people and have been known to handle weapons pretty well while they are in the wilds. Rose' saying 'come through with that uh, uh-huh' might be talking about something BESIDES 'ddu ddu du', something bigger than simple handguns. I think it's along the lines of 'Whatcha gonna do when I come through with the shotgun, rather than the little pea-shooters the other girls have?' Rose' is a baddie, no doubt in my mind. Maybe even a real gangster. She's the tallest member as well (possibly due to a better well-rounded diet in Aussie than what Jisoo and Jennie got in Korea).

All Four girls are very talented and attractive, also if your getting into Kpop and you also like rock or metal. Well if you enjoy Blackpink, baby metal may very well blow your minds. Kpop has been a rabbit hole for me, and I'm not sure if it will end, or if indeed I want it to. I'm a gamer and I watched a skins music video, by Riot games who make league of legends. They created a virtual girl group, from characters called hero's in their game. It's essentially to promote and sell skins, Two of the voices for this virtual girl group KDA. Are members of a Kpop girl group G-idle, that then led me on to Blackpink, BTS, Chung ha, baby metal and currently New Jeans. It's surprising how a genre of music I knew little about, has me deep diving into all corners of this fascinating musical art.
Coach, did you know that BlackPink had a video showing behind the scenes of them making their music videos. Jisoo explained, in the making of D4 video, that her scene how these stars are idolized right to the point when they stumble and fall, at which point the crowd will turn against you.
Great reaction. This whole video is one big FU to all their haters, and they have many. Jisoo's falling scene is a commentary on the hateful social media/netizens that have lead to numerous suicides of Kpop Idols and actors in Korea. At first the men are solely focused on "Celebrity Jisoo", and have no interest in the real person Jisoo even though she was standing right next to them. Only when she falls do they turn their attention to "Real Jisoo". The fall symbolizes some type of mishap on Jisoo's part, like maybe dating the wrong person or having a bad performance or being considered the weak link of the group (which was the real life criticism of Jisoo with netizens calling her the "Blackhole of Blackpink" and alleging she added nothing but a pretty face). Each of the members have faced hatred. Lisa was threatened with physical violence for not being Korean. Jennie actually received the worst hate from some so called "Blinks" who accused her of being a spoiled brat and lazy dancer and demanding that she be fired from Blackpink. Back to symbolism. After Jisoo falls, all of the sudden the men turn into masked assassins pointing their camera phones as weapons to finish her off now that she is injured and vulnerable. Phones are used by internet trolls to destroy the reputation and attack and harass celebrities on social media. However, Jisoo stands defiantly back up, knowing full well the flood of hate she is about to face, determined not to hide, not to let them drive her to suicide, not to let the haters "win".
Oh, my, we did not know about the suicides. Some people have mentioned that Lisa got a lot of hate for not being Korean. That is awful enough, but the suicides...just wow. So sorry to hear that.

Company doesn't have to confirm everything, but yes BlackPink means a tough side and the soft side. The members themselves said it in interviews. People saying only Blinks think that need to do their homework before they state something like that. Also the meaning when Jisoo falls and stands up is more about the message, she might be perfect and people try to put her into a box, but 1 mistake they all are quickly to point that out and criticise, but despite that she keeps smiling and will stand up again. (Idols get a lot of love and hate. Haters always have to find something imperfect and need to comment on that. But Idols are people too and not puppets. Let them live their life's and not the life of some hater who wants to control everything they do as if they are perfect. It's easy to point others fault out but point out your own faults first)

DDU DU DDU DU is not only an icon in the history of BLACKPINK but is a legend in the history of kpop, it marked a before and after for the group and for the entire industry, in November 2019 it was the first song of a kpop group (in all history) to reach one billion views and in 2023 they achieved another record which was to reach 2 billion views with a song, the first and only kpop group to achieve it (in all history), I recommend DDU DU DDU DU (live COACHELLA 2019) or watch his Dance practice that has already reached 497 million views.

As you've seen by now their videos are visual overload, but I wanted to point something out that most people don't catch. If you watch the video right after Rosé's red dress scene ( 10:58 in your reaction) you see the girls walking down a hallway with a triangular shaped door sliding towards them. They are actually inside the temple that you see during the final dance break. At 11:05 they emerge from the temple while the door is still moving forward, and when the dance break starts you can see the door finally seal the temple closed! By the way the set is based on a Korean temple design.
Wow...certainly did not notice that. I think you'd have to watch these multiple times to catch everything.

You guys are adorable and crack me up! I am the biggest BLINK. I am a 50 year old American male, married, father of 2 boys (15, 20). My family thinks I am insane, but I heard BLACKPINK 2 years ago and fell down the BP and KPop rabbit hole and may never find my way out! 😂. You guys should try GIDLE next. They are getting HUGE! They write and produce all their songs. Very talented. I would start with: “TomBoy”, “My Bag”, “Nude”, and some new songs from the past week off their new 100% English album- “I Do” is beautiful. There are 2 versions of the video - do the one which is more like a move with a boy who meets aliens that are the girls from the band (the other version is on top if a NYC hotel at night, also cool). Their latest song/video last week is called “I Want That” and is a cinematic quality story of women fighting back against abusive men, but the song is a GREAT dance song!

Rose' was born of Korean ancestry but she was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia (she counts herself as Australian which is what she sounds like when she speaks English). Aussies are tough people and have been known to handle weapons pretty well while they are in the wilds. Rose' saying 'come through with that uh, uh-huh' might be talking about something BESIDES 'ddu ddu du', something bigger than simple handguns.
I think it's along the lines of 'Whatcha gonna do when I come through with the shotgun, rather than the little pea-shooters the other girls have?' Rose' is a baddie, no doubt in my mind. Maybe even a real gangster. She's the tallest member as well (possibly due to a better well-rounded diet in Aussie than what Jisoo and Jennie got in Korea).
Her voice just captivates Coach.

All Four girls are very talented and attractive, also if your getting into Kpop and you also like rock or metal. Well if you enjoy Blackpink, baby metal may very well blow your minds. Kpop has been a rabbit hole for me, and I'm not sure if it will end, or if indeed I want it to. I'm a gamer and I watched a skins music video, by Riot games who make league of legends. They created a virtual girl group, from characters called hero's in their game. It's essentially to promote and sell skins, Two of the voices for this virtual girl group KDA. Are members of a Kpop girl group G-idle, that then led me on to Blackpink, BTS, Chung ha, baby metal and currently New Jeans. It's surprising how a genre of music I knew little about, has me deep diving into all corners of this fascinating musical art.
We think this is an enormous rabbit hole we've gone down. LOL

Coach, did you know that BlackPink had a video showing behind the scenes of them making their music videos. Jisoo explained, in the making of D4 video, that her scene how these stars are idolized right to the point when they stumble and fall, at which point the crowd will turn against you.
We've read in the comments about the making of the MV videos. That Jisoo scene was short but a powerful statement.

Great reaction. This whole video is one big FU to all their haters, and they have many. Jisoo's falling scene is a commentary on the hateful social media/netizens that have lead to numerous suicides of Kpop Idols and actors in Korea. At first the men are solely focused on "Celebrity Jisoo", and have no interest in the real person Jisoo even though she was standing right next to them. Only when she falls do they turn their attention to "Real Jisoo". The fall symbolizes some type of mishap on Jisoo's part, like maybe dating the wrong person or having a bad performance or being considered the weak link of the group (which was the real life criticism of Jisoo with netizens calling her the "Blackhole of Blackpink" and alleging she added nothing but a pretty face). Each of the members have faced hatred. Lisa was threatened with physical violence for not being Korean. Jennie actually received the worst hate from some so called "Blinks" who accused her of being a spoiled brat and lazy dancer and demanding that she be fired from Blackpink. Back to symbolism. After Jisoo falls, all of the sudden the men turn into masked assassins pointing their camera phones as weapons to finish her off now that she is injured and vulnerable. Phones are used by internet trolls to destroy the reputation and attack and harass celebrities on social media. However, Jisoo stands defiantly back up, knowing full well the flood of hate she is about to face, determined not to hide, not to let them drive her to suicide, not to let the haters "win".
Oh, my, we did not know about the suicides. Some people have mentioned that Lisa got a lot of hate for not being Korean. That is awful enough, but the suicides...just wow. So sorry to hear that.

Mr and Mrs Coach, I would strongly recommend you to check out some of BP's live performance videos, because these girls are insanely good live, for example, their 2019 and 2023 Coachella clips (don't go for the fancam clips but the official videos) and their 2020 Tokyo Dome concert. Company doesn't have to confirm everything, but yes BlackPink means a tough side and the soft side. The members themselves said it in interviews. People saying only Blinks think that need to do their homework before they state something like that. Also the meaning when Jisoo falls and stands up is more about the message, she might be perfect and people try to put her into a box, but 1 mistake they all are quickly to point that out and criticise, but despite that she keeps smiling and will stand up again. (Idols get a lot of love and hate. Haters always have to find something imperfect and need to comment on that. But Idols are people too and not puppets. Let them live their life's and not the life of some hater who wants to control everything they do as if they are perfect. It's easy to point others fault out but point out your own faults first)

Hi Coach, since you mentioned Rose's singles, I would recommend the following songs from the 'Sea of Hope' show: 'Slow Dancing in a Burning Room', 'The Only Exception', 'Because I love you', 'Read My Mind' all covers of popular English songs except for 'Because I Love You' which is an old Korean classic. They will showcase Rose's different side where she can be more intimate and let loose in a good acoustic way.
