    Many artist are sleeping on Pandora. My artist biggest numbers are coming from Pandora and that is increasing her Shazams and Apple Music Streams. Also pushing her youtube streams up on some of her song.

      @@MindWideOpenOfficial That's great for you guys - chances are you won't know what/why this is happening. The algo likes you, your packaging is nice, the content is good, the userbase playlisted you, the DSP highlighted you, etc etc. If you're getting traction I wouldn't mess with it too much, just do more of exactly what you did. I have certain artist names absolutely popping on some platforms and looking dead on others, and there's no rhyme or reason to some of it but scaling fast is a must when it happens.

    When you say focus, what does that mean? Don’t we push ads with a link that directs to multiple platforms. I’ve done only to spotify if trying to hit the algorhythm as a test

    So basically we need to be told to look at our Distro Kid (for example) "breakdown by service" stats. Thats where I found what you guys are discussing.
    And YES , Apple Music has been paying me the most with Spotify not far behind but I'm stunned by this. It amazes me how the music business is being controlled by these top tech companies who create savvy marketing strategies to gain the most listeners. Strictly business!

      I’m up 40.00 of 2 songs I featured pandora, moral of the story I wish more artist focused on the other half of the back which are the mechanical royalties I Rarely ever here anyone speak upon Harry fox mlc music reports SoundExchange ascap bmi music match lyric match list goes on and on literally 64 pay sources for every one song you release. But hey I’m just here to motivate n educate

    Spotify is a great discovery tool. I think that when you think about average demographic of Urban and/or Pop artist they should be targeting Apple Music. Majority of young people use an iPhone; it's cool. Apple Music is already apart of the ecosystem. When I think of myself; I use Apple Music because as a Verizon user its already included. I too am one of those who then go and purchase music that I support.

    My record "Flaws N All" with recording artist Sonta is about 7M streams on UA-cam (collective official channels), 7M streams on Apple Music but just crossing the 800k threshold on Spotify. We had a delay delivering to Spotify driving an exclusive availability campaign for a few months. Even then; the drastic difference in numbers only further suggest where the core of her fanbase goes to digest music.

    Certain records for some reason do better on different DSPs. For example it seems to be that Pop stuff we release does better on Apple Music. Though more Alternative records do better on Spotify. Maybe something to do with the curator we are connected with but 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Focus on and focus on driving traffic to them.

    Lmao soundCloud, 2.0. I’ve actually noticed over the years. I’ve always done better on Apple Music than Spotify but Spotify has the numbers publicly visible so it’s like you have to be doing something over there for the sake of social proof. Apple also pays more so that’s a plus.

    • @NORBZMUSIC

      This is a false positive though - I have artist names that get millions of streams from latin speaking territories and the payout is absolute shite :). I've had to turn artists away after seeing their streams being wowed but then seeing their incomve being letdown. I had this happen my afrobeats account too. If you can get people IN english speaking territories playing your foreign music it's a huge win, if you're getting streams from non-english territories then even on the best payout DSP's it's still tiny in comparison. I'll make way more with 100K streams in the US/UK/CAD/AUS/NZ on apple, than 10 Million streams from Mexico/latin places on Spotify.

    • @diegogonzalez2511
      @diegogonzalez2511 Рік тому +2

      @@NORBZMUSIC i commented based on streaming, not payout. Mexico gives you the fame for you to capitalize on live events or whatever else you want when you tour in the US. You can see in artist live in mexico for $15 dlrs general admission, and here in the states your paying easy $100 just to get in venue.

    • @NORBZMUSIC
      @NORBZMUSIC Рік тому

      @@gvngbvngiggy Like I said I look after and have access to data for hundreds of artists in different niches and there's a lot more to it than 'I make urban music and Spotify pays best/most streams'. Half the users but the users themselves are a whole different demographic of people places and payouts.

  • @NORBZMUSIC
    @NORBZMUSIC Рік тому

    I publish as a ton of different artist names in pretty much all (even obscure/abstract) genres and regions and stores/platforms. It boils down to 3 metrics: 1. Payout per region. 2. Payout per genre 3. Payout per DSP. Example: A million streams coming to your afrobeats from Africa streamed through spotify will give you a horrible payout.
    A million streams on your background music streamed in the US on Apple and you're making the most. The best payout is actually from playstation last I checked, but good luck targeting that. Spotify is simply a different beast than Apple. Spotify is like Walmart - and Apple is like... well the Apple store.
    Different demographics of people/listeners and a way better experience. Spotify is very open to spam/A.I. (aka boomy) and having to please the major labels plus utilize their own platform to make money internally from their own resources/music/playlists where Apple is very clean, strict, and they take care of catalogs and users/artists better. I admit, I make the most money from my catalog from Apple, but I strategized it to be that way only after years of observing who pays out the most for what and vice-versa. Amazon is also starting to show up in my reports as earning more and more on certain artist names/efforts and it's random but that platform is also messy and easy to exploit therefore lot's of generic spam and AI music being injected into everyones accounts.
    There's also retroactive stuff that doesn't do well until a year later and suddenly it pops due to the genre popping again or the algo choosing you for whatever reason.
