Suman, one mistake which everyone makes is post tax income vs pre tax salary. Though our salary is between 5-10k pa, post tax would be much less after ni even more less. So most of us would be middle income.
Congrats on being a consultant sir🎉.I am an Anesthesiologist in India and have seen an mti post advertised,but they have asked for full gmc registration 😢 (then why is the job an mti job)and secondly can I apply for the mti jobs even if I didn't pass the English exam or what is the deadline for passing the English test for applying to mti program.Pls reply sir

I'd just to add that Critical illness insurance is slightly different from income protection. - Critical illness insurance pays you a lump sum for specific diseases (cancer, stroke, heart attack.) and does not pay for any other illness that stops you from working. - Income protection pays you a monthly benefit if you can't work ( due to any illness). - NHS Pension provides 1) Death in Service Benefits which provides financial support to dependents in case of a Staff's untimely death. 2) Ill Health Retirement which offers protection if a staff becomes unable to work due to illness. Your MTI team will be able to advise about the English exam timelines. In medicine MTI, you can't even apply without an English exam.

do we need to get critical illness insurance while living and working in the UK? As we have the NHS .
Critical illness cover is for income protection during illness. Not the same as in India to pay for treatment.
