BTC Foundation scholarship thank you videos 2021

Hello there -my name is Dean Fulton and I am the Foundation Director at the Bellingham Technical College. I am sharing this video because you have partnered with our foundation to change the lives of our students and we are grateful. With your help, our foundation was able to award scholarships to more than 200 students totaling in excess of $600,000.
Our students truly are an inspiration. They are dedicated and hard-working, often juggling full-time jobs and challenging course work, all the while supporting their families in the midst of a pandemic.
BTC is pleased to have had more than 900 graduates from a mix of our 38 programs and 50 certificates over the past year. 76% of our graduates were from Whatcom County, 58% were first generation college students, and 13% were students with disabilities. Our youngest graduate was 16, the oldest was 64, and the average age was 29.
Many of these students would not have been able to graduate without the aid of our foundation scholarships and your dedicated support. In fact, we know that students who receive scholarships are 20% more likely to stay in college and 40% more likely to graduate vs. students who do not receive scholarships.
I would like to share some personal messages of gratitude from a sampling of our student scholarship recipients. Thank you again for helping to change these student’s lives - we look forward to partnering with you again this coming year.The mission of the BTC Foundation is to change lives by expanding access to quality education for the students of Bellingham Technical College.
We could not fulfill our mission without the generosity of individuals and organizations in our community. Last year donations to the Foundation totaled more than $557,000. Those gifts touched every aspect of student life on campus, from helping pay tuition in the form of scholarships, to providing vital equipment for programs, to filling campus food pantries, and much more. No matter what their background, BTC students have a common goal: to create better lives by achieving their academic goals.
In the past few years, students’ financial hardships have increased, while state funding has substantially decreased. More students than ever are applying for limited scholarship dollars.
We can’t do it without you. The BTC Foundation offers several ways to help students through scholarships (any gift can be made in-full or installments)
