I'm glad new and innovative poppers are shifting things, popping as a whole has gotten boring and stale to watch, it's the same moves and the same rounds over and over for the most part. I'm glad poppers like Slim Boogie, MT Pop, Creesto, Hoan, and Poppin C (to name a few) are changing the scene.

Best to let them battle in an open style format when you can do other style besides popping because then it will be judged more fairly rather than being biased toward popping/boogaloo. If MT pop is doing really good tutting and smoking the other guy a bad judge could just argue "he's not popping though" and then I hate that politics. Can't make those excuses in open style format

Poppin C and Hoan have battled multiple times in the past and eveytime it was close. But this one for me atleast, Poppin C was way better. Felt like hoans round were flat for some reason.

Best popping event of the year. You dont need a large crowd. You need enough young talent, enough legends, a good DJ and friendly exchanges. Im sure next year more legends will return and first time this event because is thaat good. Respect legends from all over the world for taking a plane here. The ones that didn't come should return next year hopefully of course. This even had everything. No disrespect intended to previous events. All love❤
Popping C deserved it his rounds were sharp. I've never been Hoans biggest supporter, but he's undoubtedly one of the greatest and when he's on he can kill anybody. This looked almost bizarre to me with how off he seemed here. It doesn't even look like the same guy at points. Congrats to C.
Hoan is getting on in age a bit I think. Nearly in his 40's now, given that he started dancing when he was 14 in 2002. Plus, when you've been doing it for that long, it loses its magic after a while. I've only been popping for 9-10 years in a more serious manner, took breaks in between, and I'm already a bit tired of it. Dancing comes from the heart, but the heart is not an unlimited resource. You need to revitalise yourself constantly, and at some point, it's gonna feel mundane like everything once you've put your 15k hours into it. Hoan was a great champion, almost unbeatable in his prime, but it's past his time now. Not even really because of age, but because of what I explained From what I can tell, Poppin C is like five years younger than Hoan and also has about 6-7 years less experience than him. Plus he only just started winning competitions, so the hunger is still there. But like Hoan, I think he'll peak in the next 3 years and start getting worse from that point

Also, I believe he was either sick or hurt last year as well.

The problem is that the style in this video is all over the place, and it's the worst. Pop is getting less and less, and it's really going with an open style.

But, you must surely realize that when the opinion of the comments precisely aligns with the view of the judges you can scarcely say that it is bias which is dominating the discourse but consensus dear fellow. But for the record, Hoan has the stronger and indeed much larger fan base and so, perforce, the prevailing bias (when it presents itself) will always be with Hoan. Just as it resides with dancers like Soraki, Rubix, Crown and the Twins. C won fair and square. Hoan seems quite lax recently, I must say. Which is not a criticism towards him just indicative that he is leaning more towards performance and entertainment now - which is fine, but not a good approach if you want to win battles lol.
@@Arareemote I think a lot of people’s issue is a winners bias. you see someone who has a fan base because they are good and in your own mind make them the hill to climb or say they not authentic or good because people like them ( everyone you named is dope. They just don’t have fans for no reason) . It doesn’t matter how many fans someone has if someone is better then they are better. It’s an excuse people can make to make bias judgment. Hoan is battling outside of his country and against a hometown dancer. If you take away the home court bias and the “fan base” then off skill Hoan was better. Older poppers are just stuck in they ways and don’t like to push a dancer who is elevating an older style.

But for the record, Hoan has the stronger and indeed much larger fan base and so, perforce, the prevailing bias (when it presents itself) will always be with Hoan. Just as it resides with dancers like Soraki, Rubix, Crown and the Twins.
C won fair and square. Hoan seems quite lax recently, I must say. Which is not a criticism towards him just indicative that he is leaning more towards performance and entertainment now - which is fine, but not a good approach if you want to win battles lol.
@@Arareemote I think a lot of people’s issue is a winners bias. you see someone who has a fan base because they are good and in your own mind make them the hill to climb or say they not authentic or good because people like them ( everyone you named is dope. They just don’t have fans for no reason) . It doesn’t matter how many fans someone has if someone is better then they are better. It’s an excuse people can make to make bias judgment. Hoan is battling outside of his country and against a hometown dancer. If you take away the home court bias and the “fan base” then off skill Hoan was better. Older poppers are just stuck in they ways and don’t like to push a dancer who is elevating an older style.
