Having to leave my beloved pet outside the vets so they could take him in to put him down and return with a dead body broke my heart. I couldn't be there to comfort him in his last moments. I know this is nothing compared to losing a loved one. This whole thing absolutely reeks of contempt for us all and the hardship we suffered - i had to shield and didn't see another person for months. It has had lasting effects on my mental health. These people make me sick to my stomach.

No. It’s plain from the interrogation of the second witness today (which I just watched) that Johnson was sceptical about lockdowns or any other measures (such as washing your hands) and also overly optimistic. If he understood the science he simply didn’t care and thought that the epidemic wouldn’t affect the UK. He and Sunak cared about the economy and didn’t think old people dying should harm that. Oh, and he was sceptical about long covid, too. Most of the people in No 10 went along with that. They were reckless.

Absolute disgrace. He says that it didn't have an impact to the covid restrictions, but what about the next pandemic or another set of circumstances when government needs the general public to obey temporary rules - a lot of the public will say stuff it, because those making the rules didn't adhere to them last time, and it's at that point that millions of lives could be lost. So yes, their actions could have a massive impact.

Why do we never hears anyone say 'your apology is not accepted'? Personally I say it a lot. We seem to live in a world where people think they can do anything they like so long as they say sorry when they get caught, with institutions adding something along the lines of how lessons will be learned and apologies are always 'heartfelt'. It's all BS and should be called out every time - leave the politeness where it belongs and call these people out!
