I was so glad to be out of that relationship because I'm an awkward person, I have past trauma, that to this day I'm still not over, I like to take things slow, but he just immediately demanded that I go to every social event with him and that automatically I'm supposed to become part of the circle he belonged to, but he failed to realize I didn't belong in that crowd, and forcing me to join was what made me even more reserved or standoffish.

It was even worse for me. A recent argument (and I'm afraid breakup) I've had with my boyfriend was perpetuated because he let his FAMILY get involved in our business. Not to mention this same boyfriend in the past has let his own friends get involved before too. It's so damn frustrating, they're instilling fear tactics in him, telling him that I'm someone that's "dangerous" to him all because I was diagnosed recently with having severe depression. His family isn't wary of mental illness at all so whenever me and my boyfriend have had a falling out where it was stemmed by my own insecurities and/or worrying, they like to stick their noses in our business and assume I'm a danger to him and push him away from me. I've been crying for the past 4 days now, this all hurts so much. I have enough problems in my own life, I'm moving out of state to go to college in just 2 days, I didn't need this shit to happen and his family is being so callous to me, after everything I've done for him and them.

I agree to an extent. Yeah, you shouldn’t tell your friends and family every little issue while also going into great detail, but in certain situations, it can actually do wonders to reach out to a trusted third party who will give an unbiased recommendation or advice and that can be a friend. Now as far as chillin with people goes when your boo wants to come over, I think it’s ok to have them be around certain friends here and there early on in the relationship, like the ones who will welcome them with open arms and give them a chance without judging and condemning. Yeah, we should all have friends like that, but hella people out there have a couple negative ass friends in their circle.
This is so important! I have had several relationships come to an end because the guy I was dating would go to his woman friends complaining about me. And these girls would talk mad shit about me without ever meeting me, and would convince him I’m not the one for him. Most likely because they wanted to date him or they were just judge mental and he never said anything good about me.

That's a good advice. I've been living my life like that for years. And I don't pray on my friends relationships either unless they tell me themselves and I ain't talking about their relationships behind their back.

I agree to an extent. Yeah, you shouldn’t tell your friends and family every little issue while also going into great detail, but in certain situations, it can actually do wonders to reach out to a trusted third party who will give an unbiased recommendation or advice and that can be a friend. Now as far as chillin with people goes when your boo wants to come over, I think it’s ok to have them be around certain friends here and there early on in the relationship, like the ones who will welcome them with open arms and give them a chance without judging and condemning. Yeah, we should all have friends like that, but hella people out there have a couple negative ass friends in their circle.

This is so important! I have had several relationships come to an end because the guy I was dating would go to his woman friends complaining about me. And these girls would talk mad shit about me without ever meeting me, and would convince him I’m not the one for him. Most likely because they wanted to date him or they were just judge mental and he never said anything good about me.
