I wondered, I saw the earlier video and the wobble. What a shame. Good to know AFX takes care of. They sure look good. It does haul the mail. Great tests and reviews👍👍😎
Yep a problem for sure but AFX will take care of it. These are beautiful cars AFX did a great job with them and they run as good as they look! Thanks for watching.
@@Footballlion-1 Cool! also look for the warped pinion gear that is on the motor when turning the wheels by hand see how the little gear looks sometimes you can get a bad one that wiggles side to side when it's rotating.
@@BSslotcarsthanks for the reply, appreciate. Here in south africa we are very limited wrt slot cars. Only carrera and scalextric and mostly 1/32. A bit of 1/43. I have oldish 1/32 cars, fly, ninco, scalextric and scx from years ago. I have 1/32 ninco and scx track. Due to limited space I currently do carrera 1/43. I take out the magnets, true the tires, add lead weight and use adjustable power supply. Without magnets 8 - to 10 volts work great.
@@BSslotcars I would like to have a few h/o 1/64 scale afx cars, but none available here in south africa. Last time we had h/o was 70's and 80's, aurora.
@@tinusvanwyk3008 Cool! thanks for sharing, You probably can get a ho scale track autoworld or afx those are popular and you can run the ho cars on them and they don't take up much space.
Very cool Steve yes you can hear the Whistling sound for sure .... I dont get every New AFX but if you think this ones worth it I may pick one up Thanks Steve
Hi I say get these firebirds I think they are the best production HO slot cars released this year! They look real nice and run great also! Thanks for watching.
I see that you modify the contacts by adding the braids for the 1:32 track but do you think it would have to be done to run on a 1:43 Track? I want to grab an AFX HO car this weekend and give it a try.
Hi you can get the afx mega G+ cars to run on a go track but you will need to put a plastic straw over the guide pin because the carrera slot is to wide, I have a video showing how they go n carrera GO track if you search carrera go in my channel you will find it. But most important I have a playlist called how to make ho slot cars run on larger scale tracks I show everything you need to know there. also with your go track you can go around over the rails with conductive copper tape and it will make the ho cars run on it without braid and in fact it will make your 1/43 cars run better also. I have a photo in my community section from a while back showing track with copper tape on it. Hope this helps.
Man that thing was flying at 20 volts. I may have to try running my Mega G Plus at 20v, i run my track at 18.5v. I am curious how you like running the smaller cars compared to your biggers cars on your track? Thanks!
Hi mark try it out, in our mega G+ races other than the last one or two we raced them at 22V they really fly! I love running the HO cars on my policar track it's so much better than the afx set track that's why I took my afx track down that I first had set up after I got a small policar track and made the ho cars run on it. I said no sense even keeping the ho track no more because they run so much better on the policar track and don't feel like toys like when run on the afx track. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
How many feet in length is your track? I have a Tyco 4 lane setup that is 136 ft, 4 long straightaways, 2 big bank corners plus a few flat corners. Powerpacks (2) wired in series per lane, record is 4.298 with modified tyco cars.
Nice layout! Yes you can go really fast with the modified HO cars, My track is 59.4ft in each lane. When I had my ho clube and ran mod class those things flew for sure! This stock is pretty nice though I like it! Thanks for watching.
I just wanted to let you know that a few weeks ago You were running on 14 volts and today 20 volts.. comparing speed test you should always be running the same voltage.
Hi We run different voltages for different class of cars not all cars are meant to run on the same voltage. These new Mega G+ cars are meant to run upto 22V and they come with much stronger magnets why we run these @20V now a pancake ho chassis is meant to run on 16V because they have way weaker magnet downforce. aurora G plus 14 to 15V max these are not made for higher voltage. adjusting the voltage for all types of slot cars is the best way to make them drive there best.
Lightning-fast little car. Thanks for sharing it. I was looking to see one of those run. The pair are on my wish list.
They are sweet! You won't be disappointed.
👀, it’s a ripper👍🏻good stuff. SCFL!
Yep she sure moves nice! Thanks
🤣 Wow! You were hauling ass Steve!! That is awesome!! 😎🫡
Thanks I love it!
That red one is a Whistler buddy. Thanks for sharing.👍😁🏎️🏎️🏎️

That was some good hot laps there Steve. I think it was more fun to watch your head spin so fast trying to keep up lol
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, I was pretty pumped about this one! I like these new firebirds a lot! Happy New Year!
4:58 I can't get over how it can hold the track, the centrifugal force alone should send it flying.
I know this thing fly's and that's with the stock rear tires if I swap them out and put aftermarket ones on it will go around even faster 👀😱👀😱
I love that firebird... need to get one of those ..🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
For sure they are sweet!
That car was cooking!!! Great track test Steve!👍😊
It's a great runner and a sweet car! Thanks for watching!
Cool car, and she is a runner! thanks for sharing! Happy new year to you both!
These are awesome looking HO cars I think the best production HO car made this year! Thanks and Happy New Year to you Rich 👍
It was ripping out there, looked and sounded great!
I love it!! Thanks Addam
That red one is a Whistler buddy. I’m surprised that it sticks to the track around the turns. Those tires must be sticky ,Thanks for sharing.👍😁🏎️🏎️🏎️
Yep it sure is a whiny beauty and those tires are stock if you put aftermarket ones on it will go even much faster! 👍 Thanks for watching.
What a whiny beauty! Great Race Steve 🏁
They really do have a sweet sound! it ran sweet! Thanks for looking.
Nice run!!!!
She rips! Thanks for watching.
@ I got the white one. Was disappointed to see the axle issue you had. You’ve mentioned that earlier during 2024 as well.
@@Footballlion-1 Cool! I guess yours was all good to go then no problems?
@ Mine ran really well. Your video was great because it gave me the head’s up to check the rotation of the tires/axle. Thank you.

Good day to you. I always enjoy your videos. What brand of track is that ?
Sweet that's great to hear! It's 1/32 scale policar track, they sell some nice 2 lane tracks and 4 lane set ups.

Great, under four seconds👍
She's a ripper for sure! Thanks
Wow that's super fast. Rekon two of those would be great fun racing against Sheryl 🤨 Happy New Year Steve 🥳
That would be cool or against the second gen camaros we have! Happy New Year!
Man that car jams
It was on fire! Thanks for watching.
I will admit, they look cool
Thank bud, they are great looking slot cars for sure!
super-fast laps. at around 3.8 sec per lap you're a madd man 👺

That was kinda slow compared to my 1969 Red Firebird I had back in the day.....just kidding = of course that burned up your track!🏁
🤣 Good one Lew!! These afx firebirds are sweet looking cars.
You said AQFX answered you... what did they have to say?
Hi yes they sent me out a new chassis! Stay tuned the white firebird will hit the track for the 25 lap fastest time test soon! Thanks for looking.
Is that on a Policar track?
Yes sir 😁👍
@BSslotcars Thats neat! I knew I could run 1:64 on my 1:43 GO yrack but didnt realize you can run them on a 1:32 Track.
Slot car of the year?
Ho scale I say best of the year for sure! Thanks for tuning in.
