This is funny, back in the late 60's, my buddy and I were rummaging thru the reduced record bin at Woolworth, and he found the LP "MONTAGE". He says "I'm gonna buy this one" I asked "Why, you've never heard of the group" He said " I like the name 'Montage'!" I think he paid a buck for the album.
Really talented people, I hate they didn't stick with the group. I know sesson singers made alot of money back then, just wish the Bahlers Brothers and Jackie Ward would have gone main stream.
While the whole tune is essentially a reworking of "Lazy Day," the first four notes of the verse (beginning at 0:12) were definitely lifted from the song "Bye Bye Baby" (the one from "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," not the Four Seasons hit).
