I started walking (since you have to burn more calories than you intake), quit drinking soda/pop, and started eating smaller portions with more green veggies and salads. When I'm craving something sweet, I eat fruits nor yogurt or heck, sometimes both. Also, when you want to snack, eat some nuts (almonds is what I eat) or some granola. Keep us updated on your progress. :) Oh, and set your goals small. They'll be easier to achieve. So start off small by setting a goal to lose 30 lbs rather than setting the goal to 75 or 100. ♥ from Indiana.

I don't think snacks are the way forward for losing weight. just eat sensibly and exercise. otherwise you will just put it all back on, change your lifestyle

you can do it! learn about calories. when you read the package you gotta pick stuff with less calories and high protein. lean cuisine makes good meals for that. I've lost 80 pounds and kept it off for 3 years now, I'll never be fat again. it feels so much better in my body to weigh less. also used to be a pack a day smoker, quit more than a year now. you can do it and the best defense is knowledge :-)

Hi Amy! If you want to loose weight/eat healthier, whole foods are the way to go. Anything that is packed in plastic; basically anything that is processed you should avoid. These bars that claim to be 'healthy' are packed with calories, sugar and other additives that will not only make you gain weight but are bad for you. Oatmeal with fruit in the morning would be a better option, or even an avocado egg toast (whole grains). For snacking, cherry tomatoes, any types of fruit, celery/cucumber/pepper sticks with humus etc. There are so many options if you research a bit! Also water is your friend! Eliminate all the soda. If you have to get used to the taste of plain water here's something I do when I want something else than 'just' water: buy sparkling water and add lemon juice (from a fresh lemon, not the processed ones out of a bottle) and I swear it tastes like Fanta or some other type of citrus soda. You can calculate based on your weight and height and age how much protein you need daily. The calories you consume from protein will always be used first. The more Dietary fiber you eat, you can get away with eating more fats and cholesterol. Vitamin b or fatty acids will help to boost you're metabalism. A cup of black coffee in the morning is much better than orange juice to get you going and make you feel better throughout the day.
I took Welbutrin to quit and I wasn't even trying. (I was taking it for ADD and just lost the craving for ciggs) Also, walk, and eat lots of greens and colorful foods, you can eat as much fruit, veggies, salad, and you want!
I love the luna bars I eat a couple when Im on my period. dont know why but they make me feel better and its not loads of chocolate and fatty crap lol. Id be careful using those as a snack all the time. granola is so bad for us all really. just watch the carbs youd be amazed how many things are low in carbs and cholesterol.

The belvita blueberry breakfast ones are sooooo good. It gives the taste of a blueberry muffin but with the yummy crunch!
