Sounds amazing. How is CPU load with the Modal filters?
We design Supermodal to be less CPU intensive with zero latency by rearranging where the saturation takes place. By making it drive the signal after the Modal filter, we're able to minimize the CPU load.
@@PolyverseMusic How's the plugin from a multithreading perspective? With high thread CPUs in the wild (especially given Raptor Lake and Ryzen 7000 release), it'd be good to get a high CPU mode if it actually makes a difference.

modal synthesis is more and more practical as cpu's improve. I'd guess parallelizing on modes to GPU might be possible?
It's interesting to see where running plugin on GPU goes. We're paying attention.

Looks really cool. Besides for all the neat additions in this plugin's implementation, is the basic "modal filter" part equivalent to what a vocoder does? The filter being the modulator and the input being the carrier? If yes, the addition of decay (feedback) to allow the modulator to generate notes is kind of genius.
Its not equivalent to a vocoder
The original audio/signal is feeding the Modal filter and the model will resonate specific frequencies based on the chosen model then where you set the fundamental frequency with the SVF filter. The more you open up the SVF filter, the more resonant frequencies you allow for the Modal filter to distribute into your sound.
@@PolyverseMusic Understood. I had forgotten about the existence of resonators. But the basic idea of both resonators and vocoders are the same, right? Split both signals into many small bands, allow through bands of the "carrier" or "input" that are also present in the "modulator" or "model". With a resonator you can pitch the model and also add feedback. Is this not basically correct? Or is there a fundamental difference in concept?

Can i play midi to it,or does it only work with wave files?
I am using Dubler2 as a midi controler.

I know tbat there are some walk artounds to make it work in logic.
This is an effect plugin. You can control it with MIDI but it won't generate any sound on it's own.
Supermodal is compatible with Mainstage 3. You can download the demo and try it from our support page: polyversemusic.com/support/
it worx with any audio source, either you load it on an audio channel (in which you can have a wav sample or a direct hardware source routed to it) or on a midi channel of a software instrument (like a sampler, a synth, etc...) I mean, it's a filter bro!!!
