True story. I watched this at the movies with my mother who I barely see as a get together to catch up. We just thought it'd a be a interesting sci fi flick and we always went to the movies growing up. I'm a dude and was in my early 20's at the time. It was pretty awkward after the movie and to this day we never talked about it. It was the last time we saw a movie together. She's still alive, we just don't do that anymore. Thanks, Splice for making things weird for me and my estranged mom with your weird double incest.

it was gross, but in it's defense it intended to be, the whole point was that the characters took all the wrong decisions and did something bad and then the consecuences bit them in the ass, hard. it ended bad for them, so i would not really compare it to twilight that it's gross while intending to be romantic and have a happy ending where the main characters are rewarded for their shitty behavior instead of punished.

Literally watched this with my cousin and we very weirded out but also asking if we understood the ending correctly. I gotta say, we actually treated it like a dramatic horror film. We were gasping when the thing started getting cosy with dude. We were on the edge of seats yelling "Bitch watch out! That thing's after your man!" We were gasping "No he did NOT just..." By the end though when the thing morphed into a male and did the thing, we were genuinely shocked in horror. Like damn.
Fast forward a few months later, the one time I don't pay attention to the tags of a Supernatural fanfic and end up reading an AU about this very movie.

Finally someone is talking about Splice! I saw this and loved it but I never got to rewatch or discuss it with anyone cuz no one I knew saw it. I was so mad... But now I'm not alone and I can't wait to have my family react to it. I loved this movie and I would continuously bring it up about cool horror scifi movies that isn't surrounded around action. I actually expected a sequel but its been 11 years now and there isn't one... Oh well
Edit: I forgot about the incest... But I do remember her being pregnant with twins.
