You poor thing!
As a scientist I can confirm that one of the first things we would do would be to poke it. We'd have a follow-up to that, but yes we would probably poke it
Science always starts with poking shit
Can't forget the ever-useful taste test.
I love this comment
When in doubt poke it out
Poking is science. Observing response to external stimuli. Just remember to write down shit afterwards otherwise you aren’t doing science

My ethics teacher thought it would be a good idea to watch and discuss this movie in class. It was an interesting day to say the least.
Sounds like when my geology professor had us watch The Core.
That sounds traumatizing
My teacher made us watch this for our pop culture class. I never recovered nor forgave him 😀
Did you discuss the ethics of making people watch this movie?
no child or adult should be forced to watch this shit ever wtf
Sigmund Freud would’ve had a field day with this honestly
Oh no this is hilarious

True story. I watched this at the movies with my mother who I barely see as a get together to catch up. We just thought it'd a be a interesting sci fi flick and we always went to the movies growing up. I'm a dude and was in my early 20's at the time. It was pretty awkward after the movie and to this day we never talked about it. It was the last time we saw a movie together. She's still alive, we just don't do that anymore. Thanks, Splice for making things weird for me and my estranged mom with your weird double incest.
Oh, I'm sorry? In the sense that I'm sorry that the movie didn't help with your relationship with your mother.
Kenneth Bryant I. Was. Nine.
Charlize Brignol poor you I’m so glad I never heard about this movies
C'mon just have a laugh about it and go back watching movies with your mum
You think that's weird than you should have seen Species (1995-2007) when we were young we first saw it because of our older sibling he said that it's a awesome film so awesome that it's Aliens (1986) and The Thing (1982) levels types of awesome oh boy we were wrong our sibling play his cruel tricks on us again after we finished the movie we were weirded out by it we ask our selfs does this movie even have a plot & does it originally came from Japan?
As an actual biologist, this movie made me more mad about the utterly stupid misrepresentations of how research works than the first Planet of the Apes trilogy movie.
So, y’all don’t poke stuff to see if it’s alive?
Madeleine Boone depends on what kind of lab you’re working in. As an evolutionary biologist in an entomology lab, lots of poking.
Kyara Holloway i mean if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
You mean bio-research isn't just randomly tossing enzymes into DNA soup until you get an artificial lifeform? :0
Forget about research. Genetics in general is oddly represented in movies. Granted, a movie about hox and homeobox genes would be a bit boring.
This is a horror movie that isn’t scary, it’s terrifying. The monster isn’t the thing that makes the viewer nervous, it’s the people.
True... This movie gave me nightmares! This movie is the only thing I ever watched that gave me nightmares!

Many people were depressed in 2009 and I bet it's this movie's fault
I didn’t know about this movie until 2011 and it still messed me up.
Brave of you to assume that this movie is a cause rather than a symptom of that depression...
I don’t consider it a symptom of my depression, because I don’t have a depression in the first place.
Burn it
Also, the financial crisis. Splice and the financial crisis gave me clinical depression
This confirmed my desire to dedicate a video to Breaking Dawn
Also because some people don't understand what Dren says at the end, it's 'inside' - which calls back to when Elsa says that there's a part of her in Dren. So it's next level gross
Don't duck your research.
I really thought you'd say "Mommy Dearest"again, but maybe you're to young for that reference.
Super excited for that

I saw Splice on a double date. The other couple had picked Slither last time, so we picked Splice this time. I swear to God I thought it was going to be a straightforward monster movie. When we all walked out of the theater my buddy shook his head and said "Dude, that was just wrong".

Fuscipes It wasn’t scary. It wasn’t deeply engaging. I forgot it the moment the movie ended.
Well, at least you can say it's unique
Art Profil Serbian film wasn’t even intense. It was just trying to shock the audience as much as possible to the point where it had me rolling my eyes. Hope the other movies are better tho
Same bro same
honestly the most disturbing parts to me were the sex and rape, without that is was just a cool sci-fi horror

I heard it described as playing God meets playing house.
Splice is one of the only movies I've seen that left me feeling uncomfortable and gross for days after watching it.
it was gross, but in it's defense it intended to be, the whole point was that the characters took all the wrong decisions and did something bad and then the consecuences bit them in the ass, hard. it ended bad for them, so i would not really compare it to twilight that it's gross while intending to be romantic and have a happy ending where the main characters are rewarded for their shitty behavior instead of punished.
You’ve obviously never seen A Serbian Film
Same.
Addie B I felt more uncomfortable Splice than A Serbian film because at least I knew what what I was walking in beforehand.
I just watched it and I didn't rlly feel uncomfortable? I mean yeah it was weird ig I mean he had sex with it but like I didn't feel creeped out at the end of it? Just another sci fi/alien movie. This movie has nothing on the Serbian film. I was kinda disappointed I thought this would be scarier as everyone keeps saying but it's rlly not
I thought this was a horror movie about science going too far and she realizes she's better than mankind so seeks to replace them
I wish that's what it was
That's absolutely what it was, and I think all the creepiness was intentional, so I don't understand what's the fuss all about. I'm not a fan of this movie, but I think it's absolutely fine and, to it's credit, the concept is very original.
That is what it was, they just executed it terribly
Same. Please just kill us and stop the pain

I mean, there is an anime like that. It’s called Elfen Lied.
I still find it hilarious that this is one of the few movies where the corporate guy tries to *dissuade* them from doing crazy human experiments at the beginning. When the guy who in almost every other horror movie would be a greedy asshole with no morals is telling you you're going too far, you KNOW it might be a good idea to stop whatever it is you're doing.
The SCP foundation would have had all the events of this film, Elsa, Dren’s corpse, and Elsa’s incest child filed as an anomaly and sent to a site immediately.

I think Adrien Brody just thought well i win an Oscar and create new heights (him winning at 29 y/o making him the youngest) and he is just like not gonna try as hard anymore which is unfortunate but i still think he is a good actor just because of that performance, also the only good movies he's in after the oscar is the WAnderson's collabo and that one Woody Allen movie

*me, just reading the title without having heard of the movie*: Vegetarian dinosaur goes to college, falls in love with personality-less Chris Pratt and sneaks into his room while he sleeps in addition to a million more creepy things- later turns him into a dinosaur and they live happy ever after
damn wtf
It would probably be an easier watch 😂
I would much rather watch your version 😂
This is an interesting premise. I am listening.
That's a solid pitch, tho.
Would watch
Jurassic *Park* , not *World.* The good movie, not the bad one.
Splice in a nutshell: "what if I banged it?"
The ending: what if it banged *me*
It’s not even a woman or a guy...
😂😂😂😂 Y'all are cracking me up
did you accidentally watch this movie when you were 10 years old and die a little inside, or are you normal?
Bruh I watched this movie with my family when I was like 9! And my mom was just laughing the whole time! It was a traumatizing ride
I have a sickening fear of the idea of animal/human hybrid horror, i legitimately just realized that its because i watched this movie when i was 12
I watched this when I was 8 and I think it traumatized me so bad that I repressed it from my memory cuz watching this video unlocked those memories
I actually saw it with my whole family, like we rented it form blockbuster aaaaand... It was awful for all of us
Ailan Flowers SAME THANK S
"What if Shape of Water, but awful"
And discussing!!!
I didn’t even like the shape of water
Well at least shape of water wasn't double incest 🙅
shape of water was also, ya know, CONSENSUAL.
Omg, in both the shape of water and splice, both of the genetic experiments kill a cat.
