- The cosmetic modification on the builder is second to none, and the two rear paddles feel amazing, but the two back buttons leave much to be desired, and much like Scuf controllers you cannot cover all the back buttons comfortably. I think it’s awesome that hex now offers the two paddle "rival" dual sense, and the four paddle "ultimate" PS5 controller, and if I had to recommend one it would be the ultimate in this video.

I'm eager to try out one of their new 4 paddle controllers. I actually really liked Hexgaming's 4 paddle DS4 controller even though you couldn't really actuate all 4 buttons at the same time either, but I found myself using 2 fingers and swapping back and forth between the 4 rear buttons and it actually works extremely well now that I'm used to it.

Here’s what I think about the two paddle two button idea. in most situations, you can’t press all face buttons at once the back buttons shouldn’t have to be different being able to press them all at once may be more efficient, but either way you’re still getting the same job done just slightly more convenient not having to move your right thumb.

eXtremeRate now offers a Rise 2.0 remap kit (the 2 paddle one) that comes with Real Metal paddles (because apparently the plastic paddles break, go figure) and choices of smooth, rubberized grip, or the textured back plate. It looks like the paddles are now closer to the controller body than older versions. 4.5 stars in reviews. Just buy this or even the Rise4 kit (the 4 button & paddle, looks a little different than the Hex Ultimate version, no metal though) and whatever cosmetic accessories to completely change the look of your controller and SAVE MORE THAN $150 on what you would pay Hex to do all that. I've seen the tutorial vids for the kits and unless you want to remap L3, R3, or the Touchpad (Why?) there's no soldering and it's pretty simple to do. I have the parts in my cart right now ($103 and some change) and I'm about to pull the trigger as soon as I figure out what else I'm buying aside from an SSD card for the PS5. Like your channel but when you describe the controllers not having and needing adaptive triggers for better gaming for all the new titles coming up you are 100% correct my good man! But...... these controllers you are reviewing with back buttons~paddles are all meant to be used for shooter games of course. Thats why scuff has diff options now but still,anyone needing extra paddles has to be for competitive shooters really
I ordered the new Aim Pro Controller, and all I can say is that it’s 100% worth it
I would like to try this controller to see how I would grip it. Just by looking at it, I would probably not bother to cover all 4 back buttons/paddles. I would likely have my middle fingers resting on the buttons, and squeezing in on the paddles for when I need to use them, or have them on the paddles and moving over to press the middle buttons. You would have to just make sure you map it in such a way where you don't need to use the left side paddle & button or right side paddle & button at the same time.

Just to add to the "reachability " of the paddles.. I have the extreme rate setup, but I've got large ish hands, so my fingertips rest on the button, and my first knuckle hits the paddle, so, for me, it's quite nice. But thanks for the video, it was informative, I may pick one of these up as a second to pair with my extreme rate version.
Evil controllers has a 4 button design on the ps5 controller, I'm waiting on them to release the 4 paddle. The buttons are nice though and placed very well.
Awesome I don't feel too bad for not waiting for the 4 paddle version. Extra button positions are not practical at all. Fast armour swapping in Apex will have to wait 😞

Their new design is fire.. 2 middle back buttons much easier to press. Almost too easy to press, but it will do.
Making one of those inside buttons like reload or something would be fine for not covering all four cuz you would just reach over and tap it anyway.
So out of all the controller reviews I've watched on this channel and its been A LOT. I have to say this one always stuck out to me. Gave it a shot. I brought the pre built on amazon based on amazons support and also prime. I've waited months before with scuf controllers(also not a fan of the paddles PS4/5). NOPE!). not for me. my hex ultimate showed up in 2 days. have about 2 hrs on it and man I'm in love. like you said its a main 2 paddle controller with 2 extra buttons. the feel of the metal clicky buttons are so satisfying. the other 2 buttons are just fine to me. no they are not clicky but the feel is fine with me. All very easy to reach/comfortable. The tactical triggers feel as good if not better than my scuf triggers. WHEN they worked(lasted 2 months!) only con as of right now with only 2hrs of play is the buttons (Circle Cross Triangle Square) are just a tad more sallow. D pad is good. All work just as my stock ps5 controller. Just not as tall. Thank you again for always bringing the in depth reviews.

Ironically the Scuf Impact DS4 controller has the most comfortable grip and back paddle layout for my hands. I find that my middle fingers naturally rest along the bottom center of the controller anyway.
I have an aim controller and I dont use my ring fingers to cover all 4 paddles. I use my middle finger to cover all 4 paddles. I use the middle of my moddle finger to graze the top paddles and tips of my middle finger to tap the bottom paddles.

I sent mines back because the paddles on these controllers are so damn short. It was uncomfortable as hell. The only good thing about the controller it was built solidly. I’m waiting on Scuf.

Ordered the AIM controller PS5 with the 4 paddles. It's great. Only joke is it's all about AIM U.S. The controller was modded in Poland. That's right Poland and was shipped to me by DHL to Canada. Stupid shipping charge and then got screwed by DHL over $50 for customs clearance. Oh well if you're going to pay over 3 times the price to try and improve at FPS games I guess you can't complain. But I could have just played claw and saved my money.
By the way used the "stallions" discount code and it worked nicely so the price could have been worse.
I would be interested to incorporate a foot paddle system to use as extra paddles might be interesting to try.

Is the anti friction/impact ring an option on their PS4 controllers? And does this help your left joystick from getting scratched up from constantly pressing up playing first person shooters?
I feel somewhat responsible for the mushy buttons on the back bc I frequently leave input on extremerate’s yt vids and I had suggested to them months ago to use the ps4 yellow tactile buttons for longevity reasons. But this is probably the worst implementation they could’ve gone with bc of the button placement. the ps4 version’s buttons were in the perfect place. My hope in the future is that they go toward a top and bottom paddle design like the Xbox elite if they can’t return to the old ps4 ver. button placements

The two paddle controller is the same thing as the extreme rate paddles. Except you just buy them and open up your own controller and put them on. I wonder if hex buys it from them

I love my aim controller. I got a scuf reflex today.. but that will not come in until April but until then my controller is doing well.. i’ve always used a scuff controller since the infinity so I’m very curious I am upset though that I did not know that the reflex pro did not have mouse click triggers I feel like it’s a sham lol.. but the new call of duty game and fortnight you can trust your sensitivity on the triggers..But I may look into getting me a hexgaming controller or a battle beaver.
Every time I use my hex gaming controller I have audio issues. Won’t let me talk through my mic and the one time I was able too, my team said I sound like a robot.

To me honestly the aim controller 4 paddles I can actually use.. I only use two fingers for the back but they are so easily accessible.. And also the design of the impact controller scuf’s really did suck

Buy both. Aim controller is very reliable and slick. Hex is much less reliable, but ships much quicker. I'd avoid their tactical triggers as they seem to break easily.

Hex gaming is definitely made for certain people and I love that they didn't change there set up.. hex is actually way easier then it looks and they actually work better then scufs new ps5 controller... I accidentally hit the buttons more on scuf and aim then the hex gaming controller and yes I have them all too.. it's like people who use claw.. it takes a different breed lol

I have a question buying this controller what happens when you come to a problem with the controller when you have stick drift what is your option after that what’s the cost on to fix it because I made my own P5 controller with two paddles after nine months I had a problem with the stick drift so my only other option was to buy a new controller and just replace the controller with the paddles which cost me 70 bucks so I’m just curious how long The control would last before having stick drift problem What are the options if you buy this controller
I was actually going to make an entire video on this topic. Because most of these custom controller companies start with a stock Microsoft Xbox or Sony PlayStation controller, they have the same thumb stick modules and are susceptible to stick drift. And unfortunately even though Aim and other controller companies offer a one-year warranty, it even says in the fine print it doesn’t cover stick drift. So it’s kind of luck of the draw, I’ve had controllers for six years that have zero stick drift, then I’ve had controllers that got drift after the first week

My brother and nephew bought two scuf controllers at the same time and they both have similar issues with the analogue sticks. My bro said his controller produces a wild shaking effect.
I think it might be dust or cheetos in the sensor or something. They don't really treat their stuff like precious jewels but anyway these things seem far from bullet proof.
