Boony, thanks for the love I'll see you out in Cali. Black Fire you guys are the world to me and you make me proud every time you perform, Thank you for another memorable trip to Warren County, and dare I say it ...Best Yet!!
I do dig the sounds of the cymbals and the sounds and ideas of the afro cuban drum line. No matter when this type of drum rhythm will prevail. I hear sounds of Art Blakely and Max Roach and Elvin Jones in this drum exhibit. Always it will never end. The pulse of this style rhythm will remain in our heart and soul. Great job to each and every performer here.
I'm REALLY impressed ! what a great job.. The drumline is really SICK !!! I swear ! I've watch this video over and over ! Great job guys !! Keep it up !
Wow, never seen so much cymbol work! When they were sitting, there were so many variants in the sound they could make, I had no idea you could so much with them. I was from a small high school and this is all so crazy awesome different than the standard straight marching our band did. Great work guys~ Love the heelies/helix use, adds an entirely different dimension to it all!
I'm so glad I fell on this drum line! I love LOVE a good drum line !! This team is so cool. They own what they do. They handle their drums as if they're an extension of their body! They dance and act like they are having FUN!! FUN IS GOOD !! the rhythmic sound along with the the moves are so amazing !! I can watch them over and over and over .... I want one of their T-shirts YEAHHHHHHHHHHH gonna do the happy dance.
Finally a REAL line. This what I'm talking bout. The skates were a neat touch. Plenty of creativity with fundemental and technical skills. Not over doing it with the excessive gimmicks most lines are resorting to now. Yall did yall thing.
yo i love ya!!! Repping BFP For Life! Yall made me proud lol. I'm glad yall kept the legacy going after i graguated. it's really good to see the drumline improve and take showstyle percussion to the next level. Tim And Harvey is doing a great job with Ya'll. Well hopefully yall will join me in Blue Devils when yall graduate. i do have three more years here lol. see ya'll in auust when i get off tour.
Since I live in a state where that stuff NEVER happens, that is mother effing amazing to me. Regardless of the couple of slip-ups, I will still always appreciate the musical aspect to it more than the aesthetic, but holy cannoli, that was fricken awesome.
yo i love my drumline bfp for life even though i didnt do this warren county on drums i was still there on trombone and yall killed the show and me being ex section leader on snare was flawless and clean like we always try to be...Im off to college either nsu or bcc but imma be around drum corp season
This is actually pretty good. You're just being a music snob. I've been playing for over 11 yrs and a follower of DCI. You must understand this group isn't a college, drum corp, or winter guard. It's a group of youths from Brooklyn. I think your comment is totally assholish and hope you can be more open-minded.
at a certain point i can agree with you cause i played at SMB and tyrone really pushed us hard and i went down to warren county with them but i was in beginners band (B band) and i kinda enjoyed playing there but i had to quit cause i moved to queens
Nah Fam, don't be like that. I'm just giving them they props. When I hear drumline competition I'm looking for skill and craftsmanship first before gimmicks and these kids did that for the most part.
What I find funny is... that it's a drumline in Milwaukee WI from Rufus King high school that do da exact same moves as BlackFire. After watchin this... no wonder why Rufus always win comps. They copied like 90% of they moves. They took the stick tossin cadence... the "We rock this show" chant, the "Yeah, yeah, yeah" chant... ALL THAT!!!
@btwTrumpet2011 naw but i lived down the street from it i went to tri-cities westlake was my band nickname at tri-cities (wasnt my choice and it stuck lol) long story
If you are an instructor then you would put more emphasis on the way they recovered rather than the mistakes that were made. Everyone makes mistakes recovery is key though. I am the instructor for this line, and I know had the venue been outdoors, and the listening vantage point centered as opposed to the side it would have sounded much better than this clip would have you believe. They were not dirty, trust me.
3:00 mad tings!!!! I dunno how anyone can say anything bad about this kinda thing. Maybe if the rude people had a hobby or a talent they'd have more to focus on that other people.
i must agree with dbstud!..this was NO way 'nearly flawless'!!! ..people were dropping sticks, losing shoes, on the wrong foot(lmao), and they coulda been alott cleaner!! i give them an A in visuals/creativity only!!...and u cant truly be an instructor leaving a comment like that. the things u say make me wonder where the hell did u go for music? and who the hell gave u a degree?!.. because i am a percussion instructor! and i teach show and corp style lines.
itsvcool to dance and all that but to much is too much is to much it gets boring after a while. not knocking their talent cause they're talented kids just dont concentrate on dancing to much

My comment was for Rayraybrin, and anyone else who feels the need to point out the mistakes, or how dirty they think it was.
this is amazing.
but what state was this in, you said, warren. and im think warren ohio? is that right?
They should have used these guys for the movie drumline. Seriously, these guys are a way better showstyle line than the lines in that movie.
He gives it to his neighbor. While leaning to their right sides, they give it to their next neighbors (sorry for bad english..I'm german :) )
I'd like to know what they were scored for this performance...
One love to this stuff. I wish I could keep a beat like that. Sadly, Im white. hahaha
Nah Fam, don't be like that. I'm just giving them they props. When I hear drumline competition I'm looking for skill and craftsmanship first before gimmicks and these kids did that for the most part.
