Hands down one of the greatest guitarist's and performers in music today. He and Brad Paisley both have won the respect of many legendary classic rock guitarists because yes, they are both THAT incredibly talented! As a bonus they both write many of their own lyrics. Most musician's today can't even come close in that kind of musical talent, yet sadly many are much more popular.
Don’t forget Vince Gill. Man had the respects of Mark Knoffler of Dire Straights in the late 1980s. Mark wanted Vince to join Dire Straits but he turned it down.
3:15 eruption van halen 3:57 smoke on the water 4:03 stairway to heaven 4:15 intro to crazy train 4:35 solo crazy train 4:53 clutterbilly 5:11 shook me all night long ACDC the rest is all orignal i must say this man is amazing at ...anything he does musically i am highly impressed by his skill and consistency
Pink Floyd "We Don't Need No Education" part from "Another Brick In The Wall" around 5:45. Also pretty sure he stuck part of the riff from Black Betty by Ram Jam between "Eruption" and "Smoke On The Water".
@@lucaaz14 yeah they can. But most of the greats know it gets boring to put that many solos in one song. I'll give you a hint. Meatloaf is famous for 1 song Don Mclean is famous for one song. you can concoct 1001 songs but you will be famous for the one you can anly listen to the first 2-3 mins and then hit next.
My God, this guy is just brilliant. I love Keith. I have never seen him do this song but knew about it. There's not anything this guy cant do and do it better than anyone else. God Bless him!
Lord have mercy .... Keith Urban ... I am Australian and I never knew he could play like this , man he killed it .... Fire blew from his finger tips I can tell you ! Wow I am impressed , man that was some playing in a half !
Wow, Keith should really make more Guitar Oriented songs. I was never a big fan of his singing, but after watching this insane Guitar Part, I gained a ton of respect for the man...now I need to find a place to download this.
I really agree with you on this! When RS came out with their cover story of the best new guitarists, I was upset that Keith wasn't included in that list. My favorite thing about seeing him perform live is how much passion he puts into his playing, I could sit and watch him play all day.
No offense. But quit. Much love to you, but Keith is unbelievable. If you haven't seen him live, so it. And yes, it makes you feel like shit about your musical and signing abilities.
@@jenfrank7811 I think it went over your head big time. Anyone thats watching keith on youtube knows he is one of the great country guitar players but he made a fuckery of a great upbeat tune with this sad attempt of a remake.
it was pretty awesome .. and let's not forget live!!.. god knows I've messed up plenty of licks live.. I learned the guitar hero version of this song and its no joke even on the melody.. that's pretty damn clean... bad ass Keith .. much respect
uh no...lmao i know every lick every scale every mode ..period.ive spent my wholeblife playing 8+ hrs a day..thats just not true 😀😃i can hear AJYTHING and replicate it on the spot easy
Such a great guitar player, its a shame most young metal heads and classic rock junkies arent willing to give some country a try, some great players out there.
I'm incredibly impressed with Keith Urban's performce and guitar skills with this song. I am very surprised! I'm a guitar player and own a Fender Telecaster 52 ReissueI'd love to be able to play this song. Great job from an Australian performer.
Will Smyser I agree. His music may not be as “country” as some people want. But he has made telecaster players like myself proud and jealous since the late 90’s
I get so tired of labels for country. Can't people just learn to appreciate all kinds of music? Keith took the boring make me want to drink depressing songs out of country. He is ahead of his time Love him.
I actually have been playing for 7 years...I know alot about guitar. IMO keith is the best guitarist in country music and one of the best in any genre and eaisly the most underrated proven by your comment.
This is just amazing. Thank you for posting it. Never heard of it or seen it before. Keith is an amazing live guitarist but this made my eyes pop! Anybody who hasn't been to a show should treat themselves.
why cant anyone accept this was a giant piece of epicness cos its exacley wat it is epic guitaring epic country singing epic bass and once again epic guitaring
Keith URban is one of the best modern country guitarist he has so much skills, multitask, playing solo, screaming his lungs out..I bet you cant name any other country musician that can do that...(snuffsaid2007)
your a freaking legend Keith...you rocked even back then.. Love what Keith can do with a guitar..awesome clip and one heck of a talent..hes great in concert. love ya Keith..
This was always the highlight when The Ranch played shitty little Nashville clubs like Jack's Guitar Bar. Great to see it on UA-cam. Thanks for posting!
He's got the greatest pinkie ever. One of the best guitar players, period. Rock, Country, Blues...whatever. This guys gots it. I just wish he would break the chains that bind him.....the labels, and get back to playin like this.
Keith is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. I tell people that all the time and they laugh and then I show them this and they change their minds lol.
Wow Man Wow! My hubby (David Pecina) and I really LOVED this so very much. I want to share it on some Keith Urban Facebook groups, but David said, "Oh no your not because I'm the one that chose to pick this one to watch first, HaHa" So he will share it in the (only 2 groups) he is a member of. {**Thank you so very much (eyeluvku) for sharing this AWESOME video here on UA-cam, we sincerely appreciate being able to copy the link.**}
He absolutely still plays like that in concert. These boys think nothing of doubling (or more) the length of a song live - and not just one or 2, but pretty much all of them. Probably my favorite part of the live show is when Keith goes off on a tangent because he's such an amazing guitar player, and he's clearly enjoying himself when he can just jam.
that would make me so happy, i heard brad paisley play first, but after seeing some of the stuff like this from keith urban... i think it would be great
I am a huge fan of great guitar work starting in 79 at the age of 9 when I discovered Schon. Since then I've cut my teeth on the likes of Rhoads, Vai, Bettencourt, Vaughn, Gilbert to name but a few. Think I got a fair knowledge of what makes an amazing axe man. The axe work was what led me to Keith who is easily up there with those guys, seen him 12 times, one of the best players in any genre and along with Paisley (another child progidy like Keith) is easily the best player in Country music.
@Outback4Me "The devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat. He laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet. Johnny said: "Devil just come on back if you ever want to try again. "I told you once, you son of a gun, I'm the best that's ever been." Yeah!! love this early KU! sloppy or not, at 21 he could only get better ...
Country is not my cup o tea, but Keith Urban can SHRED! I would never have guessed!
Keith urban was country but he made this song SOOOO Metal it was to awesome.

John Mayer. Not country, but he’s on their level if not better. And yes, this is 8 years later
Agreed

Fucking awesome......devil really came down to Nashville....his name was Keith urban
Still here, finding my soul... Oh the devil took it.... 👿
Watched this devil on guitar in Country Thunder Alberta , Calgary in August 2023 , he can rock a crowd !!
throws in a bit of crazy train and a bit of everything else just make it one of the greatest vids ever
i saw keith do that in i 1992 at some girls school in toowoomba. awesome then and now.
1985 in Brisbane in a band called 3 magic words. He played the solo with the guitar behind his head.
Simply amazing! Keith is truly one of the greatest guitar players ever.
woah lets not get ahead of ourselves. he's one of the greatest in pop music today
matteocubano i think he is because no other guitar players can do 5/6 guitar solo's in one song!!

Keith Urban is the best and nobody can compare with him!
Glen Campbell and Roy Clark were better. If you don't believe me, spend an hour on UTube checking out their live performances.
one of the most under-rated guitar players of all time....in my mind he's one of the best in the world
KEITH THE BEST IN THE WORLD❣️❣️❣️❣️
The best.
i just LOVE the Stairway To Heaven, Crazy Train and especially You Shook Me All Night Long parts.

I'm not sure whether watching that makes me want to practice or quit.
ben22881 lol I agree
Practice practice practice. Don't quit, take this as inspiration that there is always more. You can do it...
No offense. But quit. Much love to you, but Keith is unbelievable. If you haven't seen him live, so it. And yes, it makes you feel like shit about your musical and signing abilities.
He IS amazing LIVE. Just saw him 3 weeks ago and loved every second of that concert!!!
@@jenfrank7811 I think it went over your head big time. Anyone thats watching keith on youtube knows he is one of the great country guitar players but he made a fuckery of a great upbeat tune with this sad attempt of a remake.
This is fantastic - come on, all you guitar players out there - we'd love to able to perform like this
This is incredible! Keith is an incredible guitarist!
Tele neck-whammies around 2 minutes, gotta love it :)
Wow Wicked Playing Keith!!!
Keith Urban rocks. I can't usually sit through a 7-minute song. But that was very entertaining.
it was pretty awesome .. and let's not forget live!!.. god knows I've messed up plenty of licks live.. I learned the guitar hero version of this song and its no joke even on the melody.. that's pretty damn clean... bad ass Keith .. much respect
James Bramlett Keith has licks most of us have never seen before and self taught at that!

In Oz we call that a 'Dad joke' ! Keep up the good work!

I already know the answer to this but...... WHY DON'T WE SEE MORE LIKE THIS FROM KEITH? Or the radio in general?
Will Smyser I agree. His music may not be as “country” as some people want. But he has made telecaster players like myself proud and jealous since the late 90’s
I get so tired of labels for country. Can't people just learn to appreciate all kinds of music? Keith took the boring make me want to drink depressing songs out of country. He is ahead of his time

This is really awesome on sooo many levels... Its not about technical precision as much as it's about feel. This rocks.
This is HOT! Wow, I've never seen this before..thanks for posting this! Keith is absolutely amazing!
how is this not the most viewed video on youtube? that is the single most amazing feat by an entertainer i have ever seen..GIT R DID
Loved vid: great energy, loved his riffs and take on a classic, loved the rock/metal incorporated into a country classic.

haha thought it was a golden fender hahaha, its too amazing ta even say that, love his version, thank you Keith Urban
The tone on the crazy train bit fits the mood of the song perfectly.
As someone who usually does not like country music, I had no idea Keith Urban was this good. Impressive.
He's got the greatest pinkie ever. One of the best guitar players, period. Rock, Country, Blues...whatever. This guys gots it. I just wish he would break the chains that bind him.....the labels, and get back to playin like this.
Nice cover, not the closest to the original, yet this has a great concept of the "better guitar playing all the classic songs" i love this
ummmm! god damn!!! he just about melted that fender of gold...holy crap!!!!
Gained some respect for Mr. Urban... Great rendition of a classic.
That looked like alot of fun---good job
absolutely LOVE the Stairway to Heaven, Crazy Train and You Shook Me All Night Long riffs.
I love how cocky he was the entire time. That was great
This makes my books all the way!!!
This is his first band The Ranch. A great 3pc. I like to call them the "Cream" of country.
omg, this is sooooo awesome (:
I have never seen anyone that good in my 55 years.
This is the most amazing thing i have ever seen he is the hedrix of country!!!
Keith is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. I tell people that all the time and they laugh and then I show them this and they change their minds lol.
Yes it is! This was back when he was initially with Keith in The Ranch.
I have heard this before, but have never seen the performance. Thank you so much!! I would love to have a copy of this...
Had no idea he could also play this well. Respect.
he is an amazing guitar player and over all musician. i love the riffs he plays all over the song.
