Very underrated camera, was VERY glad they hadn't shot up in value when I picked one up. Its built like a tank, simple to operate, has classic timeless styling and while the lightmeter is basic it does the job. I have the FTb QN and having the shutter speed visible in the viewfinder is a nice feature. This is the one I'd recommend. Got mine for $100 with the 50mm f1.4 S.C.C which is easily worth $100 by itself.
This camera changed (saved ) my life. I received this camera and lens combination as a high school graduation present (barely graduated) in August 1971. It was an incredible sacrifice for my parents but it changed me from a listless teenager with no direction into a young man with a passion for seeing the world through the lens of a camera. 📷✨🌟
I am a 50+ year Nikon user, but I have two Ftb QLs and an original Canon F-1. Great cameras with incredible lenses! If Canon had offered a professional model back when, I probably would have gone with them. Excellent video!
@@mortimersnerd8044 Many years too late introducing it. I was already well entrenched in Nikon by the time Canon decided they needed a professional camera, just like Pentsx did with their LX.
Wow, nice set of lenses!!! Bought an FTB with 2 50 mils and off brand 28, 135 and a huge zoom best used for bicep curls!!! All for 50 bucks. Had an FTB on yearbook staff in Highschool (1975). Great camera!!!!
Wish I could find such deals in Australia. Just one of my FD lenses would have been about AUS$150 Be nice to have some of the older L lenses but they fetch a high price.
Salve che batteria usa sulla FTB ? una da 1.5 Volt ? Si dovrebbe usare 1.3 Volt sembra che l esposimetro tenda a sovraesporre , vedremo quando avro`i risultati del rullino
I've never owned a Minolta film camera, but I do know back in the day they were at the top of their game. They were held in higher regard than Canon. I believe they were more expensive so didn't sell as many as Canon, so you find less on the used market these days. Will do a little research myself and pickup a Minolta film camera, just to have a piece of history.
This is my favourite video!
I watched this almost four times, I hope you success in your UA-cam career!
Thank you. Much appreciated

This camera had a huge impact on my work as well. More in the later years. I go into in my first video, how film got me out of a creative slump

The F1 was, in every way, a professional camera

I just bought a Canon FTb at an antique store recently. Can’t wait to test it out.
Awesome. I actually own two FTb's incase I need the parts for my main one :)
My favourite film camera too along with the Nikon F ❤️
I may have to invest in an old Nikon film camera, just to experience the old classics... along with an old Minolta.

@@giuseppdantesapienza I got lucky at an antique store. No one there knew if it worked or it's value!!!
This is one of my favorites. I like the Canon EF a bit more.

do you know which filmed you used for the pictures in 5:18 ?
Portra 400. what you see are scans from prints. So there maybe a little variance to the original prints.
