Tina you speak Truth!🫶🏼
I have been in IT for 20+ worked in help desk, Network(got a CS degree somewhere in here), Admin and landed a short software development role (2yr) which became more of a cloud engineer role....figured i would use it to get some on the job cloud skills and landed a remote gig at microsoft doing Azure App Support. Next mission on the plate add some AI in the portfolio.....and see where this path leads.
Woah, this is super impressive! How have you been able to adapt?
The tide is getting higher and higher. You keep moving to a higher spot, the dry land shrinks, it gets overcrowded. You fight for your dry spot. You make it to a certain height then it gets too tough a struggle. Soon the tide overwhelms the whole land and everyone swimming or... drowning.
Exactly. We need UBI
Unless you are capable of interstellar flights while bringing along ecological, technological and personal sustainability then you will survive the "flood".
@@Retrosenescent
What bothers me about UBI is the B. It doesn't have to be Basic. Instead, we can have a Citizen Shareholder Fund owning a fixed part of the economy, let's say 25%, in which fund everyone has equal shares. It's ownership not charity. But you're right in the big picture, we need a replacement revenue model for post human labour economy
@@user-yp8di7gz3h
Well, wherever you can go they can and they can get there faster and sooner
The main problem with UBI can be seen in both the college system and minimum wage system. When loans became available to people colleges raised prices to the point where you can't get enough money in loans to afford college. Also the minimum wage hasn't kept up with inflation. It's very possible that if everyone was receiving income from the government, prices would rise to the point we couldn't afford to live based on what we are given. Also, right now the government has money because they tax those that are working. If people aren't working and just drawing from the government, who is putting money in? What incentive would people have to work to put money into the system?
I have been working in the IT field since last 95+ years, started using windows 1 on calcualtor to advance computers with AI todays date. I think leaving IT job and working in resturants is good option to AI proof career. I recently started working as a server in restaurant for $10/hour I am totally happy for my AI proof career and also I get free food
Huh? So your 95+ years old
@@micahhughes1622 265 years old to be exact.....
Thanks Tina! Always relevant information. You are Great! I learned something today. I follow you on regular basis.
If you think you could write nonfiction using AI, you are in for a sad lesson. Much of the information on the internet is bogus, including those who have how to stuff. If you really know what you're doing, you know that much of that information is wrong in your field. That means that the information from AI is mostly wrong. It's just that people don't know it. It's like a writer copying information from another book but making it more entertaining while they get it wrong because they don't know what they're doing. The end result is just BS. Everyone is going to realize pretty soon that all this extra content is just bogus. Then the real money will go to the people who are real. Not those thinking they can make a fast Buck with AI.
I like how you explain a topic and how you think through the implications of AI"s larger impact on jobs
Excellent content. As always! 🐙
Wow, 90% of this stuff is scamming people.
So, I was a graphic designer and I started using ai to design graphics and my company felt they could get an administrative assistant to do it, so they laid me off. Now I'm learning how to code and using ai to do ( I mean help me) do my assignments.
I was wondering if they didn't let you do the "human touch" yourself?😅
@@akaleex2116no, no one will let me touch them. I okay with that tho.
I think the best way to AI proof your career is to learn some practical skills that can’t be done by a robot such as a trade or a very niche skill
Yup, that or be the one behind the scenes who is developing those AI things and innovating and/or being very skilled at using those AI tools, but imo going in a totally opposite direction is a good strategy too, I mean AI is not going to replace your leaking boiler anytime soon, such a boring job he? Well those people are usually booked out several months in advance cuz nobody is doing these jobs anymore, cuz they are not cool.
Also I realized that working in sales is pretty good - you don't have to worry about some technology progress, you just start selling the latest cool thing and you're good.
The edits 😂 love it!
Awesome video!!! Also I went for a bike ride with a doggy stroler for the first time, it was exhausting yet worth it :)
Thanks!
thank you so much for supporting the channel!! I really appreciate it 💜
Please make a video on how to use Coursera AI coach.
I am a visual effects artist. I think I want to learn more about deep learning in computer vision so that maybe I can contribute more to the field. However, I would like your advice, maybe I should just play around with GenAi apps and do something of value with it? Deep Learning in computer vision for visual effects has been around for a while. not sure if genAi would mean someone can contribute more.
It won't take everyone being laid off for major social problems to arise.
Is there python focus course(course that only teach with python)?
Tina, you make AI interesting. Love your unpretentious presentations and your understated genius. In this vid, you made me laugh out loud with the Cat on the monitor. #supersmartNuplifting
The audiobooks example just sparked my interest.
If there's a specific voice you want for a character, an AI can do that. The person making the audio with the AI can dictate the tone, the mood, the emphasis on specifics, and do that with their own voice while the AI turns that voice into the character's. That just created more work, which makes more jobs, and the quality of the content gets better.
that's exactly why they layed off so many employees at Audible. There was just too much work to do🤷♂
I only buy audiobooks narrated by the authors, specially of the natration is not perfect but authentic and natural.
Out of all the artificial intelligent You Tubers you are the best.

Tina, using devin as an example isn't viable anymore, they were making misleading adverts

Who was the person the Tina refers to about the AI entrepreneur?
Here's the gist of the video: the rapid pace of AI innovation is causing job market chaos, with nearly 8 million jobs in the UK potentially lost to AI. However, instead of panicking, it's essential to adapt and learn how to "AI-proof" your career. The key is to identify what AI is good at and apply it to areas that need it, without necessarily being a software engineer or coder. The video highlights examples of people using AI to generate audiobooks, write books, and create products, and encourages viewers to upskill and reskill to stay ahead in the job market. The sponsor, Course Careers, offers a platform for learning technical skills and getting hired by top companies. The main takeaway is to be proactive, combine your existing skills with AI and prompt engineering, and create value to thrive in the changing job market.
Every night I unplug my laptop so it can’t take my job or the last slice of key lime pie from the fridge.
very smart
or u can ask me any time. I love sales coaching environments
Tina it looks like we need to get you some AC where you’re at
Austan Goolsby, Chief Economist for the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board under the Obama Administration, predicted years ago that 70 million jobs would be eliminated by 2030. While he went on to say that most of these jobs would be replaced, he failed to qualify that most of the replacement jobs will mainly require less skill and pay lower wages.
Goolsby's predictions had not even considered the currently developing field of AI and its impact on the job market. Very few occupations will remain unaffected by AI.
The question is what is the value of e.g. AI generated content like logos and pictures when everybody can do this ?
Beautiful teeth. Can you please make a video on whether it is natural or treatments done? 💯💯💯
u awesome
Bro half of the video was just random yapping and promotion
So, how do you use Ai, to create content, books, etc. without creating a copywrite issue?
You don't, grab the money and run.
@@216lucio LOL Ok got it :)
this feels like fear mongering. Devin is stupid as hell . I mean after the initial hype, people have realised devin was LUL.
AI is helpful in certain tasks, but its definitely not going to replace a good engineer who knows his/her stuff.
So please guys, instead of taking drastic steps, just concentrate on being a good engineer, sharpen your skills, be aware of the AI enhancements taking place so that you can take advantage of it where its applicable and just go be an awesome engineer.
I’m not telling people to go take drastic steps and go quit your job or something. Humans have difficulty understanding exponential growth which is what is happening right now with AI. Devin is stupid yes right now but that’s how technology works. We also thought that LLMs would never be able to hold a conversation, we wouldn’t have AI video for ages, agentic workflows could not exist etc. It goes from not very good to better and better. The breakthrough is that there is a proof of concept albeit a shitty version. There are also clearly shifts in hiring patterns.
Sure it’s not as astounding and life changing as many people hyping it up are claiming it to be but it’s clearly changing the world drastically. Do you really want to just wait around hoping that breakthroughs don’t happen? What I’m suggesting is to try to take advantage of what’s happening now, including become a good engineer and actually use those skills to shape the future.
Admit it Tina, you've been using all this fake hype and panic to grow your channel from the very beginning. Like everyone else, you have no idea how AI technologies will grow. Everyone says it's exponential, but no one talks about the limitations of stochastic parrots, hallucinations, and computational costs. You're taking advantage of people's fear and that's unethical.
@@einsam494 Exactly. I mean before AI advancements since the chatGPT, her videos were actually good. But now every video just feels like an excuse to sell her course.
It's like with Google search...use it until it's over regulated in your country! 😂

👍It's paradise for the smart!
AI will not replace real software developers anytime soon, if ever. The current state of AI is that even the best of them produces low quality code that will not function as intended and is prone to unexpected crashes due to poor or nonexistent error handling.
I dont care about the video, I'm here to say you've got the single most beatiful thumbnail of youtube in years, the one with the umbrella, bye bye

my kids wont go to school because I will use AI to teach them and I study by myself because AI is better when they try to replace us we replace them
As your 3-year follower, I really feel not appropriate that you use data scientist as your identity on UA-cam to produce videos and increase half a million followers and make money from UA-cam ads and sponsorships. But actually, you only worked as a data scientist for almost 1 year and quit your job to work as a full-time UA-camr to make money! This 1 year of experience can't even secure a mid-level data scientist position in the current market, but you build a program to teach people how to learn AI and relevant knowledge. would be curious about how much experience or knowledge in AI, machine learning, NLP, and computer science you really have, and how much you still remember. I wonder how much ML production experience you gained from your 1 year, only 1 year of experience. You are still a junior, but all your videos are teaching others how to work in the AI world and develop a career! don't you feel strange
I think it is great that you are sitting behind the safety of your desktop criticizing someone who you’ve never met. Why do you assume that someone who quit working at a tech company is incapable of learning and gaining experience. She worked at Meta for 2 years as data scientist and has continued taking on consulting and freelance roles btw. 😊
Well first I don't know how much past expérience she have. Secondly, you don't need to be working in the field for 10 years to give lessons.
Indeed that would be nice to see the content of the workshops but this insn't available unless you pay.
Oh, and she's not alone to teach I guess.
The rest of the content is free and nice.
I dont really understand your point, if you want to have an honest opinion, follow the workshop and review it. I don't say it's good or Bad, idk. But neither do you
@@lorteauerwan8686I am a 5-year data scientist; I know how this industry works. I have seen so many UA-camrs use data scientist as their identity to make money. I think it's fine, but if a person worked as a DS for only 1-2 years, then quit and turned into a full-time UA-camr, but their content still uses data science/AI as an identity and they produce courses to sell, here I would doubt how much real experience he/she really has, because his/her opinion about the industry or his/her course could be misleading, and even have a lot of mistakes. There will always be some people who stand out to doubt. I never doubt any other tech content-oriented UA-camr who still holds a full-time tech job.

That bar chart mentioning brainstorming being a major application seems on point. I tried using ChatGPT to help me develop a GUI application but had problems that caused me to spend too much time fixing obscure problems. At some point I tried Gemini and got better results so I started again and got further. From my perspective it is great if you want something from it that constitutes the baseline in your field.
Had I asked for a double buffering mechanism it would have given me one. Instead I asked for a clever double buffer which would always give me a contiguous piece of memory which can be achieved by copying some bytes during insertion and it failed to even remotely comprehend what I wanted to do.
So getting up to speed is good, getting creative is asking too much. Writing tests is also ok. I'm really wondering whether paying for ChatGPT or this other new thing would give me better results now.
A year ago, this was one the best channels to learn basic concepts and how to approach challenging problems. I learnt a lot through your videos.Thank you for that.but recently your videos are making me more anxious about my future in the IT industry. I wanna stay away from this topic.
