6/21 bought this bike from Outdoor Sports, as you posted in your video Costco doesn't have this bike, nor does Walmart @$459! We picked up 2 for $425 refurbished. Can't wait to get accessories for it! Watch all your videos love all the info.
I bought one of these last November (it’s now September). It’s a nice little bike, and I’ve enjoyed it, but it comes with some big downsides. One is that I weigh 190 lbs. and I never got more than 14 miles with pedaling virtually 100% of the time and that was with a brand new battery. So the 30 mile claim is nonsense, unless you’re talking some little kid who weighs next to nothing. Another is that their claim of it being good for 300-500 recharges is wishful thinking. I got maybe 150 recharges of the battery (about 1500 miles of riding) and currently the range is about 6 miles which is worthless. The battery is shot and going down for the count. The headlight is worthless for illumination at night, and not that noticeable in the day, and just sucks the battery down faster. I bought a rechargeable light that is much brighter, and you can set it to different modes like flashing to get cars’ attention. The tires are narrow and not good on much of anything other than pavement. Loose sand bogs it down very fast. The chain needed tightening at 500 miles (a $15 cost at a bike shop). The rear tire is pretty much bald of tread at 1500 miles, and needs replacing; without tread it slips in the lightest of sand or water on the road. I figure it needs about $250 of repair and this was true maybe 2 months ago , after 7-8 months of usage. Given that I spent $330 to buy it new at Costco, spending that much on repairs every 7 months doesn’t make much sense. Plus the Jetson website has had zero spare parts showing on it for months. Bottom line: I bought a different brand of ebike and got it a few days ago. It was $1250. 26” tires, a battery that is said to last for 50 miles of pedal assistance (I turn off that assistance because it’s got 8 gears and I can pedal it most of the time without the battery’s help). It’s got some other nice features such as an electronic speedometer. So the Jetson served a purpose, got me back into biking after decades of not doing any, but I needed a better designed bike to keep going.
You can take the blur tooth module from the other bolt and put it in the bolt pro then use the blue tooth app to raise the speed . When done if you want you can remove the blue tooth module.
You failed to mention that these have disc brakes. That's upper level stuff beats pinchers all day long. Good review. I had mine for about a year now and I'm a heavy guy.

I think when people were asking about the brakes, they wanted to know whether or not they were disc brakes or some other type (calipers, drum, etc.), not if they were hand brakes. From the look of things, they seem to be mechanical disc brakes, but it is difficult to determine the size of the discs (160mm? 180mm? smaller?), as well as how many pistons there are applying the pads to the discs.
Hi Tom, thanks for watching my video and for your feedback. They are indeed mechanical disc brakes and from what I can tell those are 6" discs, so roughly 150mm.
@@ShivaSapkota Many thanks for your quick reply. One other question on the brakes - do they have motor inhibitor switches on them? That is, do they cut off power to the motor when they are engaged, so the brakes don't fight against the motor?

I have to disagree about the cruise control... Sorry. I have a Jetson and it took me awhile to understand the "cruise control". It's not actually cruise control but an accelerator lock. It holds the accelerator at the place you set it. Different from a car cruise control that will change gas input to slow or speed the car.... The Jetson "cruise control". Simply locks the accelerator at whatever place it's operating when set. It will not adjust for speed or hills! It's a great feature that I use often.... But it's not like cruise control in a car it's simply an accelerator lock
Thank you so much for answering my questions! One last query....was talking to a friend (who like me does deliveries on bike) and he mentioned lithium batteries having issue in colder weather. The city bikes (in Chicago) that are E-assist are having issues as well. Below about 50*, they become sluggish in hi gear and hard to ride. If this bolt bike is going to have that problem I may have to reconsider if its worth it! Friend mentioned perhaps wrapping the frame/battery in some type shipping paper made to retain heat??
Hello, thanks again for your time and your questions. E-bikes, exactly like electric vehicles (e.g. my Tesla) lose about 20% range in low temperatures. Normally the performance stays the same but you get less range. However, depending on the road conditions, it could have hard time going forward and it might feel slow. If the bike will be left outside in a cold weather constantly, it will definitely affect its performance. In your situation, if you can charge and store the bike inside in a room temperature, I think this bike will perform well. Yes, there are some folks who have found that wrapping the battery has helped get more range in low temperatures. Also, if you do purchase this bike, please be sure to clean the dirt/road salt after each ride. Unfortunately, there are a lot of factors involved with battery performance during winter temperatures, so won't be able to tell you how this specific bike will perform. We got snow earlier this week here in Colorado and I took the bike out when the temperature was in the 30s and it performed just fine. I didn't do a range test or anything though.
Pro tip: There are freezer packs that can also be used in the microwave as heat packs. Be certain that they can be microwaved and won't blow up. Heat a couple up and wrap them around the center area with a scarf or two. Voila!
Yeah pedaling can get heavy without the pedal assist from the motor. If I sense that I am going to run out of juice, I stop the throttle and just use pedal assist. Pedal assist uses way less energy than throttle.
@@ShivaSapkota I was charging mine. But it seems that there's something wrong. 6 hours has passed but the charger led did not turn solid green. Is that okay?
@@jaysoncam6778 Try unplugging it, turn the power on, twist the throttle (while putting the bike on the stand) and plug the charger back in. Sometime the "communication" between the battery and the charger needs resetting. Sometime it does take longer depending on the battery temperature. If the battery is too hot or too cold, it chargers really slow. This is the case with all lithium ion batteries.
1st & most important is these Jetsons e-bikes are not $300 anymore in fact haven’t seen any for lower than $370 , plus tax and that’s pushing it to $400, but I haven’t seen any thing that cost under $400 that gives the same value. That’s probably why Costco doesn’t need to lower it’s price on this Bike. So far I like this bike and the only things that I’ve bought is a larger seat and a Helmet.
Don't expect anything close to 15 miles without peddling. You are lucky to get 10 miles from a full charge when peddling and half that when not peddling.
Nice Review! big plus is the Larger tires (14”) are better then competitors tire sizes. Please let us know if and when you get flats! Two questions... A) using as a utility bike when traveling requires a basket for the front and/or back. Basket(s) should be large enough for grocery shopping. Baskets could be thick plastic netting attached to a metal frame. Realize weight effects battery usage which brings up question B. B) If distance exceeds battery charge and peddling is a good backup but rather a way to slip in a second battery or completely replace existing battery is desired. Bike ESystem appears enclosed and closed to battery access. 👉Would adding a second battery exceed existing controls electronics capacity?

Assembly seems well thought out but as I mentioned those traveling need more configurable options. I might want to recommend moving the battery to the outside and allow interchangeably. Current package isn’t water proof and this could be another option for Sailers who would use this bike to run to the store when at Harbor. It’s possible the Controller is off the shelf. Usually when shopping I’ll notice changes needed and if I buy they usually show up later.

Controller limits are based on Component sizing within the Controller. Too much burns out the Controller. A Motor that’s too hot burns out motor windings. A balance with personal use and highest use is a must. Overvolting an electric bicycle motor for more speed! But Ebikes will be stored on boats and could be subjected to Saltwater Spray or mist. Wiring anything on a boat has sealing requirements so an Ebike would require something similar.
Have more... The Controllers have a bank of voltage transistors sometimes called MOFsets. They generate heat and are using the Extruded Aluminum Case as a Heat Sink. They need to be attached to the case using a Temperature Transfer Gel for the best Heat Transfer. Problem is the Controller is boxed up in a Shell. It’s best to have the Controller Finned area sticking outside of the Case for an Air Flow to help keep it cooled down. If adding a second battery, the higher voltage will increase Controller operating heat. At this point repackaging the design is in order.

I'd love it if you could do a video for your recommendations on accessories and add-ons. For instance, what type of lock do you recommend? That's my biggest fear is how to keep it safe. Also, would love your thoughts on handlebar bag, rear rack, etc. Let's pimp out our Jetsons! Also, I'm looking to use this bike for exercise primarily and then use the power assist to get me up those big hills that I struggle with. Is Pedal assist always on if the bike is turned on? To answer your last question, when the power is turned on, as long as you don't twist the throttle, you can manually pedal and the motor won't push you. You have to twist the throttle for pedal assist to work. I normally just manually pedal and only use the assist for uphill climb. My charge lasts a long time that way😊 Thanks again for your comment!
Thanks for sharing the video! Just purchased one from Costco. I wonder how do you pump the front tire? Unlike the rear tire, the front tire pumping tube is not 45-degree bending and there's not enough room to attach the pump.

@@Dckless69420 Thank you very much Eric. I really appreciate the support. I use Sony ZV1, Go Pro Hero 9 Black and my iPhone 12 Pro Max to record my stuff. That 18mph is only possible with a bluetooth module that is impossible to find. I asked Jetson and they wouldn't even send me one. Folks have been able to remove that module from a previous gen Bolt and hack their speeds. I actually purchased a different controller and currently trying to get it to go faster. The new controller also only gives me 15.5 mph. I will keep you updated if I figure something out.
2 with if you pedal fast and have the electric thing on wouldn't it go over 15.5 MPH and second how do you lock it or secure it say I'm going into a small store ect...
The motor cuts off at 15.5 mph regardless of if you are pedaling or using the throttle. You can use a traditional U or wire locks for this bike. Thanks for watching my videos.

Perhaps it is my balancing, but I am unable to stand up while pedaling but I haven't had any issues pedaling while seated on normal roads. If that sticker is removed, there are some numbers engraved right next to the front headlight and rear wheel frame that can possibly be referenced to have Jetson locate your serial number for you. Hello, I have a question! If I wanted to go to a movie would I be able to use a big duffle bag to carry it in with me, and put it in the seat next to me? It says the length is 40 inches and the height is 28 inches when folded. I could probably take off the seat as well to take off some of the height. I'm thinking of getting one of those really big 42 inch camping duffle bags. I know I could just lock it outside, but I'd really like to have the peace of mind knowing it's safe during my movie. Any opinions?
I enjoy this bike but I don't get anywhere near the 15 mile range you say you get. I pedal as often as I possibly can and get maybe 10 miles. And once the battery dies it's near impossible to pedal and very energy inefficient- so difficult that I always end up walking it. Do you have that problem?
Hi Mark, it seems like your battery probably is worn out a bit. The range differs by rider's weight, topography, weather etc. I get 10-12 miles in the winter and 13-15 miles in the summer normally with the original battery. I added a second battery to get double that range. Thanks!
Do you have to pedal to get the motor to kick in and go? Or can you just sit and not petal at all and power the motor some how? Like turn the handle or something to make it go?
Hi Lance, you don't have to use the pedals to engage the motor. There is a throttle (like in a motorcycle) on the right hand grip, you can just twist that and the bike will move forward. Thanks for watching my video.
Any advice for charging brand new out the box? I want the longest battery life possible. Do you recommend charging it before my first ride, or riding it until dies first?
Hi Dan, thanks for watching, I really appreciate your time. Since it is a lithium ion battery, I would recommend keeping the charge between 10-90%. So, depending on the state of charge your bike comes out of the box, you should be able to ride without charging it first. For the best battery life, it is recommended to store it in a room temperature. Also, I would recommend unplugging soon after the charger turns green indicating a full charge. It is not good for your battery to stay plugged in after full charge. Thanks again!

Will the throttle work while plugged in to the charger? The benefit to this would be that I can plug this into an external battery and get more running time while plugged in.
Hi Jay, you cannot adjust the gear in the pedaling. This is a single speed gear. The throttle does work while plugging in but it will damage your battery. I would recommend a second battery instead. Hello, it will not go over 15 mph regardless of how fast you pedal. The motor cuts offs at that speed. I ended up swapping out the controller with a new one that doesn't have the limiter but that takes a lot of work.
Can you review the delfast ebike? Range, price, comfort of pedaling. Jetson bolt pro have a rough and awkward pedaling and not easy to handle very wobbly.
I haven't heard of that brand but upon a quick search their bikes look awesome! Quite pricey though. I will see if I can reach out to them for a review. Thanks!
im totally getting this bike. My Cosco is stocked full of em edit: I have a Child Carrier for my mountain bike. Do the child carriers have a hole for the metal rod that secures bike to trailer?
Thanks for watching my video. I highly recommend this bike. I actually haven't removed the outside bolt cap to check if the rod has holes. The motor sits in the back, so it could be different for this bike. Keep in mind that with 14" wheels in this bike, the trailer connection might be too low. How big are the wheels in your trailer?
How does padel assist work on this bike? I thought when I padel it would automatically assist so I have to apply less force for padeling, but it looks like it only assists if I twist the handle. How is it supposed to be? Did I get a lemon?
Hello, yes, as long as the power is turned on, the pedal assist automatically kicks in. If you are having a hard time pedaling when the power is on, you might have a faulty pedal assist connection. Thanks for watching my video.
Hi Mike, you can do light off-roading but I would go with a bigger bike for that. The tires will be okay for a short period but without any suspensions, and those little tires, you won't have a good riding experience. Thank you!

Thanks for watching my video! I highly recommend this bike for daily commute. I would imagine the battery would last a long time as long as you follow the proper storage/usage recommendations. If your battery dies within a year, you have a 1 year warranty with Jetson. They will swap the battery for you. If it is after the warranty period, you can purchase a replacement battery and replace it. It depends on how comfortable you are with electric work but the battery swap is quite easy, just have to remove some screws, unhook the old battery and put in the new one. I might do a video in the future showing how to do this. Thank you again!

I have a question. Is there any way to put balanced wheels on the back of the bike. I guess like training wheels but heavy duty for an adult. I bought this bike I have not opened the Box yet I haven't rolled on a 2 wheel bike in years in years and I really don't want to hurt myself. So I was wondering what would you suggest.
Hi Jan, unfortunately it doesn't do regenerative braking/charging. Charging the battery while riding on these ebikes (especially smaller ones like this one) wouldn't be very practical due to many factors. One of the reason is that feature would require direct motor drive which this bike doesn't have.
I bought this bike from Costco maybe close to 1 week now and i fully charged it then last time i took it out it seems like the battery went down faster then the 1st day maybe could it be cuz i used the peddles ?
Hi, I had a knee replacement 3 months ago and just turned 70 years old. Love riding my bikes but foot couldn’t reach the ground to feel safe when seat put to where my new knee could bend yet. So the size of this bike is perfect for me to ride and get the exercise I need and feel comfortable. Took it to my physical therapist and approved of bike size for me. I haven’t tried it with power on yet. Kinda afraid of speed it might go and throttle seems too easy to accidentally turn it. Is there a button we could install to use instead of throttle. My sons worried I might hurt myself if I turn throttle accidentally in an emergency.
Hello, thanks for watching my video and for your question. I hope your surgery went well and are recovering and getting some rest. It is technically possible to convert the twist throttle into a push button throttle/thumb slide throttle but it will require modification (disconnecting the original throttle wire, connecting the new wires, soldering those wires etc). Let me do some research on this for you. I will take apart my bike and check the type of throttle connection it has and see if I can just direct you to a button controlled product.

Hi Stephen, I think you might have an alignment issue? When you fold the bike, there is a 10mm allen screw that you can loosen and adjust your turns. It is a very tight screw so need some leverage. That might fix the issue for you. Thank you!

Hi Shiva, i watched your informative video and bought the Jetson Pro from Costco a couple of months back but barely used it due to winter (i am in Canada). I have now used it a few times over the past 2 weeks and like everything about it except i noticed that : The vertical front arm that folds down when not using is not firm and there is movement of maybe half-inch even after i use the lock mechanism to keep it up and in place? Should it not be firm with no movement at all? Also, yesterday, the front frame actually came loose from its locking mechanism while i was riding and started to drop while i was riding! How can i fix this or is this a defect? I am thinking of returning the bike. Would appreciate an early response/advise. Thanks!
Hello, that seems defective so if you are able to return and get a new one that would be my recommendation. If it is hard to get a new one, you can try removing the little washer that is in the button of the stem arm. Once the stem arm is loose, you can then rotate it to tighten. That has worked for some people but again might be easier to just return. Thank you.

@@ShivaSapkota As u suggested, when i fold the front arm, i dont see any washer to remove, just a hexnut which is very tight and is part of the wheel not the folding top arm! Also the lock mechanism does not click tightly into place like i remember it used to and rattles when riding either because it is loose or because of theslight movement of the top arm i described earlier. Would appreciate if you can post a couple of photos so i can figure out if i am missing a washer or some other small part. Still would like to keep the bike instead of returning coz they are out od stock and hard to find! Thanks!
Hi Frank, thank you for watching my video. If you are in cruise control, the motor shuts off as soon as you brake. So, I think it has that cable. I haven't tried braking while in manual throttle.
Hello, yes this bike would be great for deliveroo. Perhaps get some accessories like a rear rack and bags (I have videos in my channel on accessories). Keep in mind the range is between 12-15 miles per charge so if your routes are going to be long, I would recommend an extra battery. Thanks for watching my video.

I bought one of these last November (it’s now September). It’s a nice little bike, and I’ve enjoyed it, but it comes with some big downsides. One is that I weigh 190 lbs. and I never got more than 14 miles with pedaling virtually 100% of the time and that was with a brand new battery. So the 30 mile claim is nonsense, unless you’re talking some little kid who weighs next to nothing. Another is that their claim of it being good for 300-500 recharges is wishful thinking. I got maybe 150 recharges of the battery (about 1500 miles of riding) and currently the range is about 6 miles which is worthless. The battery is shot and going down for the count. The headlight is worthless for illumination at night, and not that noticeable in the day, and just sucks the battery down faster. I bought a rechargeable light that is much brighter, and you can set it to different modes like flashing to get cars’ attention. The tires are narrow and not good on much of anything other than pavement. Loose sand bogs it down very fast. The chain needed tightening at 500 miles (a $15 cost at a bike shop). The rear tire is pretty much bald of tread at 1500 miles, and needs replacing; without tread it slips in the lightest of sand or water on the road. I figure it needs about $250 of repair and this was true maybe 2 months ago , after 7-8 months of usage. Given that I spent $330 to buy it new at Costco, spending that much on repairs every 7 months doesn’t make much sense. Plus the Jetson website has had zero spare parts showing on it for months. Bottom line: I bought a different brand of ebike and got it a few days ago. It was $1250. 26” tires, a battery that is said to last for 50 miles of pedal assistance (I turn off that assistance because it’s got 8 gears and I can pedal it most of the time without the battery’s help). It’s got some other nice features such as an electronic speedometer. So the Jetson served a purpose, got me back into biking after decades of not doing any, but I needed a better designed bike to keep going.

You can take the blur tooth module from the other bolt and put it in the bolt pro then use the blue tooth app to raise the speed . When done if you want you can remove the blue tooth module.

You can unlock the speed using a $20 board to reprogram it. And there is a after market app you can connect to.
I think when people were asking about the brakes, they wanted to know whether or not they were disc brakes or some other type (calipers, drum, etc.), not if they were hand brakes. From the look of things, they seem to be mechanical disc brakes, but it is difficult to determine the size of the discs (160mm? 180mm? smaller?), as well as how many pistons there are applying the pads to the discs.

I have to disagree about the cruise control... Sorry. I have a Jetson and it took me awhile to understand the "cruise control". It's not actually cruise control but an accelerator lock. It holds the accelerator at the place you set it. Different from a car cruise control that will change gas input to slow or speed the car.... The Jetson "cruise control". Simply locks the accelerator at whatever place it's operating when set. It will not adjust for speed or hills! It's a great feature that I use often.... But it's not like cruise control in a car it's simply an accelerator lock
Thank you so much for answering my questions! One last query....was talking to a friend (who like me does deliveries on bike) and he mentioned lithium batteries having issue in colder weather. The city bikes (in Chicago) that are E-assist are having issues as well. Below about 50*, they become sluggish in hi gear and hard to ride. If this bolt bike is going to have that problem I may have to reconsider if its worth it! Friend mentioned perhaps wrapping the frame/battery in some type shipping paper made to retain heat??
Hello, thanks again for your time and your questions. E-bikes, exactly like electric vehicles (e.g. my Tesla) lose about 20% range in low temperatures. Normally the performance stays the same but you get less range. However, depending on the road conditions, it could have hard time going forward and it might feel slow. If the bike will be left outside in a cold weather constantly, it will definitely affect its performance. In your situation, if you can charge and store the bike inside in a room temperature, I think this bike will perform well. Yes, there are some folks who have found that wrapping the battery has helped get more range in low temperatures. Also, if you do purchase this bike, please be sure to clean the dirt/road salt after each ride.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of factors involved with battery performance during winter temperatures, so won't be able to tell you how this specific bike will perform. We got snow earlier this week here in Colorado and I took the bike out when the temperature was in the 30s and it performed just fine. I didn't do a range test or anything though.
Pro tip: There are freezer packs that can also be used in the microwave as heat packs. Be certain that they can be microwaved and won't blow up. Heat a couple up and wrap them around the center area with a scarf or two. Voila!

I ran out of juice earlier. But thanks to it's pedals I was able to get home. Thing is, it's real heavy pedaling and the ride was very slow. 😂
Yeah pedaling can get heavy without the pedal assist from the motor. If I sense that I am going to run out of juice, I stop the throttle and just use pedal assist. Pedal assist uses way less energy than throttle.
@@ShivaSapkota I was charging mine. But it seems that there's something wrong. 6 hours has passed but the charger led did not turn solid green. Is that okay?
@@jaysoncam6778 Try unplugging it, turn the power on, twist the throttle (while putting the bike on the stand) and plug the charger back in. Sometime the "communication" between the battery and the charger needs resetting. Sometime it does take longer depending on the battery temperature. If the battery is too hot or too cold, it chargers really slow. This is the case with all lithium ion batteries.

1st & most important is these Jetsons e-bikes are not $300 anymore in fact haven’t seen any for lower than $370 , plus tax and that’s pushing it to $400, but I haven’t seen any thing that cost under $400 that gives the same value. That’s probably why Costco doesn’t need to lower it’s price on this Bike. So far I like this bike and the only things that I’ve bought is a larger seat and a Helmet.
Just stop saying that you can buy this bike for $300, because it’s not fair to get peoples hopes up!
Don't expect anything close to 15 miles without peddling. You are lucky to get 10 miles from a full charge when peddling and half that when not peddling.

Two questions...
A) using as a utility bike when traveling requires a basket for the front and/or back. Basket(s) should be large enough for grocery shopping. Baskets could be thick plastic netting attached to a metal frame.
Realize weight effects battery usage which brings up question B.
B) If distance exceeds battery charge and peddling is a good backup but rather a way to slip in a second battery or completely replace existing battery is desired. Bike ESystem appears enclosed and closed to battery access.
👉Would adding a second battery exceed existing controls electronics capacity?

From looking at other videos it looks like this bike is packaged from off the shelf components. Assembly seems well thought out but as I mentioned those traveling need more configurable options. I might want to recommend moving the battery to the outside and allow interchangeably. Current package isn’t water proof and this could be another option for Sailers who would use this bike to run to the store when at Harbor. It’s possible the Controller is off the shelf. Usually when shopping I’ll notice changes needed and if I buy they usually show up later.

Controller limits are based on Component sizing within the Controller. Too much burns out the Controller. A Motor that’s too hot burns out motor windings. There’s a Market begging for the right product for those using Sailboats. Docking at Marinas often requires trips to food or hardware stores. But Ebikes will be stored on boats and could be subjected to Saltwater Spray or mist. Wiring anything on a boat has sealing requirements so an Ebike would require something similar.
Have more... The Controllers have a bank of voltage transistors sometimes called MOFsets. They generate heat and are using the Extruded Aluminum Case as a Heat Sink. They need to be attached to the case using a Temperature Transfer Gel for the best Heat Transfer. Problem is the Controller is boxed up in a Shell. It’s best to have the Controller Finned area sticking outside of the Case for an Air Flow to help keep it cooled down. If adding a second battery, the higher voltage will increase Controller operating heat. At this point repackaging the design is in order.

To answer your last question, when the power is turned on, as long as you don't twist the throttle, you can manually pedal and the motor won't push you. You have to twist the throttle for pedal assist to work. I normally just manually pedal and only use the assist for uphill climb. My charge lasts a long time that way😊 Thanks again for your comment!

@@Dckless69420 Thank you very much Eric. I really appreciate the support. I use Sony ZV1, Go Pro Hero 9 Black and my iPhone 12 Pro Max to record my stuff. That 18mph is only possible with a bluetooth module that is impossible to find. I asked Jetson and they wouldn't even send me one. Folks have been able to remove that module from a previous gen Bolt and hack their speeds. I actually purchased a different controller and currently trying to get it to go faster. The new controller also only gives me 15.5 mph. I will keep you updated if I figure something out.

The motor cuts off at 15.5 mph regardless of if you are pedaling or using the throttle. You can use a traditional U or wire locks for this bike. Thanks for watching my videos.

This is optional and the bike by default comes with a one year warranty. If that sticker is removed, there are some numbers engraved right next to the front headlight and rear wheel frame that can possibly be referenced to have Jetson locate your serial number for you. Hello, I have a question! If I wanted to go to a movie would I be able to use a big duffle bag to carry it in with me, and put it in the seat next to me? It says the length is 40 inches and the height is 28 inches when folded. I could probably take off the seat as well to take off some of the height. I'm thinking of getting one of those really big 42 inch camping duffle bags. I know I could just lock it outside, but I'd really like to have the peace of mind knowing it's safe during my movie. Any opinions?
I enjoy this bike but I don't get anywhere near the 15 mile range you say you get. I pedal as often as I possibly can and get maybe 10 miles. And once the battery dies it's near impossible to pedal and very energy inefficient- so difficult that I always end up walking it. Do you have that problem?
Hi Mark, it seems like your battery probably is worn out a bit. The range differs by rider's weight, topography, weather etc. I get 10-12 miles in the winter and 13-15 miles in the summer normally with the original battery. I added a second battery to get double that range. Thanks!

Hi Lance, you don't have to use the pedals to engage the motor. There is a throttle (like in a motorcycle) on the right hand grip, you can just twist that and the bike will move forward. Thanks for watching my video.
Any advice for charging brand new out the box? I want the longest battery life possible. Do you recommend charging it before my first ride, or riding it until dies first?
Hi Dan, thanks for watching, I really appreciate your time. Since it is a lithium ion battery, I would recommend keeping the charge between 10-90%. So, depending on the state of charge your bike comes out of the box, you should be able to ride without charging it first. For the best battery life, it is recommended to store it in a room temperature. Also, I would recommend unplugging soon after the charger turns green indicating a full charge. It is not good for your battery to stay plugged in after full charge. Thanks again!

Will the throttle work while plugged in to the charger? The benefit to this would be that I can plug this into an external battery and get more running time while plugged in.

Hi Jay, you cannot adjust the gear in the pedaling. This is a single speed gear. The throttle does work while plugging in but it will damage your battery. I would recommend a second battery instead. Hello, it will not go over 15 mph regardless of how fast you pedal. The motor cuts offs at that speed. I ended up swapping out the controller with a new one that doesn't have the limiter but that takes a lot of work.

Thanks for watching my video. I highly recommend this bike. I actually haven't removed the outside bolt cap to check if the rod has holes. The motor sits in the back, so it could be different for this bike. Keep in mind that with 14" wheels in this bike, the trailer connection might be too low. How big are the wheels in your trailer?
How does padel assist work on this bike? I thought when I padel it would automatically assist so I have to apply less force for padeling, but it looks like it only assists if I twist the handle. How is it supposed to be? Did I get a lemon?
Hello, yes, as long as the power is turned on, the pedal assist automatically kicks in. If you are having a hard time pedaling when the power is on, you might have a faulty pedal assist connection. Thanks for watching my video.

Hi Mike, you can do light off-roading but I would go with a bigger bike for that. The tires will be okay for a short period but without any suspensions, and those little tires, you won't have a good riding experience. Thank you!
Thanks for the vid. I've been reading a lot, looking at vids, trying to decide if I'm going to purchase. I'm going to be using the bike nearly everyday, probably 10-15 miles per day. How many months can I expect to get out of the battery? And when it begins to fail...what does one do, since it isn't removable!?
Thanks for watching my video! I highly recommend this bike for daily commute. I would imagine the battery would last a long time as long as you follow the proper storage/usage recommendations. If your battery dies within a year, you have a 1 year warranty with Jetson. They will swap the battery for you. If it is after the warranty period, you can purchase a replacement battery and replace it. It depends on how comfortable you are with electric work but the battery swap is quite easy, just have to remove some screws, unhook the old battery and put in the new one. I might do a video in the future showing how to do this. Thank you again!

I have a question. Is there any way to put balanced wheels on the back of the bike. I guess like training wheels but heavy duty for an adult. I bought this bike I have not opened the Box yet I haven't rolled on a 2 wheel bike in years in years and I really don't want to hurt myself. So I was wondering what would you suggest.

Hi Jan, unfortunately it doesn't do regenerative braking/charging. Charging the battery while riding on these ebikes (especially smaller ones like this one) wouldn't be very practical due to many factors. One of the reason is that feature would require direct motor drive which this bike doesn't have.

I bought this bike from Costco maybe close to 1 week now and i fully charged it then last time i took it out it seems like the battery went down faster then the 1st day maybe could it be cuz i used the peddles ?

Hi, I had a knee replacement 3 months ago and just turned 70 years old. Love riding my bikes but foot couldn’t reach the ground to feel safe when seat put to where my new knee could bend yet. So the size of this bike is perfect for me to ride and get the exercise I need and feel comfortable. Took it to my physical therapist and approved of bike size for me. I haven’t tried it with power on yet. Kinda afraid of speed it might go and throttle seems too easy to accidentally turn it. Is there a button we could install to use instead of throttle. My sons worried I might hurt myself if I turn throttle accidentally in an emergency.
Hello, thanks for watching my video and for your question. I hope your surgery went well and are recovering and getting some rest. It is technically possible to convert the twist throttle into a push button throttle/thumb slide throttle but it will require modification (disconnecting the original throttle wire, connecting the new wires, soldering those wires etc). Let me do some research on this for you. I will take apart my bike and check the type of throttle connection it has and see if I can just direct you to a button controlled product.

Hi Stephen, I think you might have an alignment issue? When you fold the bike, there is a 10mm allen screw that you can loosen and adjust your turns. It is a very tight screw so need some leverage. That might fix the issue for you. Thank you!

Hi Shiva, i watched your informative video and bought the Jetson Pro from Costco a couple of months back but barely used it due to winter (i am in Canada). I have now used it a few times over the past 2 weeks and like everything about it except i noticed that : The vertical front arm that folds down when not using is not firm and there is movement of maybe half-inch even after i use the lock mechanism to keep it up and in place? Should it not be firm with no movement at all? Also, yesterday, the front frame actually came loose from its locking mechanism while i was riding and started to drop while i was riding! How can i fix this or is this a defect? I am thinking of returning the bike. Would appreciate an early response/advise. Thanks!
Hello, that seems defective so if you are able to return and get a new one that would be my recommendation. If it is hard to get a new one, you can try removing the little washer that is in the button of the stem arm. Once the stem arm is loose, you can then rotate it to tighten. That has worked for some people but again might be easier to just return. Thank you.

@@ShivaSapkota As u suggested, when i fold the front arm, i dont see any washer to remove, just a hexnut which is very tight and is part of the wheel not the folding top arm! Also the lock mechanism does not click tightly into place like i remember it used to and rattles when riding either because it is loose or because of theslight movement of the top arm i described earlier. Would appreciate if you can post a couple of photos so i can figure out if i am missing a washer or some other small part. Still would like to keep the bike instead of returning coz they are out od stock and hard to find! Thanks!

Hi Frank, thank you for watching my video. If you are in cruise control, the motor shuts off as soon as you brake. So, I think it has that cable. I haven't tried braking while in manual throttle.

Hello, yes this bike would be great for deliveroo. Perhaps get some accessories like a rear rack and bags (I have videos in my channel on accessories).
