It's so great that you're doing JHAG reviews as I've ever only tried Mad Madame and Midnight Oud. Both were too harsh for me, but Mad Madame is definitely mentionable! Probably just what you're looking for as well, although it has quite an animalic side to it. It's that earthy green kind of rose and patchouli, reminds me of an enormous wild rose bush that you need to fight with a sword to get to the other side, there's no walking around.
I bought a Sample of Lady Vengeance, and here is what I think: The sent is very soapy and reminds me 1 to 1 with some scent I remember from my childhood. In fact I was searching for That scent for years.. I don't love it or hate it but every time I take a whiff of it I'm like "gasp".. So I think I can relate to it being Vengeful. Maybe because people think of badass woman, red lipstick, blank boots, gun, hat etc etc. They forget what Vengeance really is... You are not thinking about it, about that person, that event, but then it pops into your mind, reminding for itself.. The occasional whiff I get from this perfume just closely reminds me about How it feels to be vengeful.

It's actually pretty similar to my impression: I was expecting a sensual seductive rose but this one is delicate and airy, yet beautiful, to me just like Narciso Rodriguez for her EDT. A nice juicy rose fragrance is La Fille du Berlin by Serge Luten, you might like it. Have you ever tried 1996 by Byredo? Would appreciate your thoughts if you have. And on Tom Ford Oud Wood:)
Have only briefly tried some of their offerings - have never been interested. The *real* Lady Vengeance has been discontinued unfortunately. It used to be called Midnight Poison.
Hi! I love your reviews! Have you tried Dark Saphir from Agonist, Portrait of a Lady from Frederic Malle or Oud Ispahan from Dior? They are 3 of my favourite dark, sexy and mysterious rose scents.

Wow, that's a little disappointing to me. I'll be testing it soon and I was hoping for a darker rose too. Maybe with the extreme. We'll see what you think. I just got done testing Juliette has a Gun Midnight Oud. I didn't like it for the first several hours. However the long awaited drydown is incredible. Have to test it one more time to decide it if it's worth it.

Lady Vengeance is so nice, but that's all it is: nice. If it were more powerful or had better longevity, I would've been a bit more thrilled by it. I just got JHaG Midnight Oud, and whew, am I excited for it! If you want skanky rose, you might try PK Perfumes Dirty Rose. It comes out pretty skank-tastic on my skin.

I love a skanky rose!! I'll deffo look that PK perfumes one up. :) Have you tried Portrait Of A Lady by Frederic Malle? Or Lyric by Amouage? Now these are some powerful dark roses!!! :)
I actually have decants of both! And I didn't like either. XD The FM is nice, but it didn't wow me the way I expected it to; it's probably my own fault for believing the hype. Lyric smells like Silly Putty and baby powder on my skin, which sucks. But I like some of Amouage's other stuff, especially Fate Woman.
I actually get a bit of 'dirtiness' from patchouli, but at the same time, I didn't expect it to be DARK from the start, either. :P It probably also plays a role in how I perceive it.

I just buy it. So airy, so NOT vangance ....and that is suprise that I like the most. Rose is gentle and delicate...! Ilove it.
