I’m beginning my studies in Health Informatics with a concentration in health analytics with USF tomorrow! Super excited to get started on this journey. I’m transitioning from Physical Therapy into this new field, and couldn’t be more excited to begin!
Thank you so much for this wonderful information session. My question is, can someone without a background in health transition into health informatics? If yes, how?
Hi! Yes, lots of people in engineering, computers, research, go into this- for your particular situation, I would talk to USF and then can best tell you if you would be a good fit 😉
This was a great and helpful video! I have a customer service background, but I am in the mist of pivoting into the healthcare/health tech field. I am interested in looking into health informatics, but I have no background in healthcare. Is it still possible for me to go into this field?
Does the postgraduate degree for a healthcare professional, requires a lot of technical skills and abilities? And is the used math complicated or easy? Thanks dears.. 👍🏽✨
Hi! It may require so math but all roles are different. I think I would suggest to reach out to schools like USF and ask them more personal questions before deciding. So glad you found the video helpful :-)
As an international dentist with a masters in IT, I wonder if this would be an option. I have years of experience in healthcare, just not the American healthcare system. No knowledge of insurance or coding/billing. Would this be necessary to pursue this degree and career?
Any health professional can do this but it is best to at least have a certificate in informatics and then you can later get the masters for higher pay and upward mobility, check out USF as a lot of people have been happy with their program 😀
If I don’t have any experience in healthcare but currently pursuing MA in Healthcare informatics can I join USF? I just think that after completing MA it is not enough for me to get a job. I want to be able to get a job after graduation.
Would someone with former Public Health in Epidemiology experience have qualifying experience to ease transition into Health Informatics? I earned my B.S. in Public Health from USF.
Hi Swati, There are a variety of healthcare informatics programs out there, but USF has a very good one, here is our interview with the head of their program- ua-cam.com/users/liveio1VtArZKc8?si=BzZ7AiVfnhr5IcuY I also suggest you reach out to him to make sure you get all your questions answered, Best,
Unfortunately usually you do need a degree in this, they do have a certificate program but for best pay and job security you would need to get the masters
This is one of the best presentation on health informatics I had seen so far! Prop to the speaker for his insight and excellent communication.
