Of all the responses to His call, I find Matthew's the most moving. The combination of music and his expression and urgency with which he moves to join Jesus is so beautiful. I can only hope I can accept and hurry to Jesus' embrace with that much purity and surrender. Amen.

@@AdderTude Right. A purpose that actually means something. We do often allow ourselves to be held back willingly by our sins. The tempting voice that tells us to take the easier path, to lie a little, to cheat a little, etc...

I really think God blesses and answers prayers like Nathaniel's. Prayers that are honest, real, impassioned. Prayers that just lay your heart out before God; the good, bad, and ugly.
I think so many people miss out on a genuine connection with God, because they're trying to make their prayers artificially "holy". But that "holiness" in prayer isn't coming from faith... it's really coming from fear. They're afraid of saying the wrong thing to God. They're afraid of God's judgment.
But its exactly that "artificial holiness" that's truly dangerous. It shows that their hearts are far from God. They're putting on a show for God, whether they know it or not.
Be honest with God. Let it all out. Pray like Nathaniel; pray like Job... It shows genuine faith. God is much less concerned with our imperfect emotions, than He is in having a true relationship with you by faith in Jesus. ❤✝️

Hi there. I like your comment, and read it cause we have the same name. It is kinda true that women were called to be disciples as well as the men. Mary Magdalene, Mary and Martha, Salome, and many others(women) followed alongside Jesus until he ascended/departed into Heaven.

This series has done many things to me, it changed my perspective of how I saw the disciples, I mean, THEY ACT LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE,they have humor, they have fights, they have their highs and lows, they are so real!! We can relate with them so much. And Jesus, is totally different of how perhaps almost everyone thought he was. This series has made me read the Bible more, to know how the scenes really happened. I’ve watched it nine times now,no kidding!! Lol

So I was brought up in an atheist to the core household and therefore I've never read the Bible and this is the first time for me being in contact with this material. I do love meditation however and I'm no longer atheist. Because Jesus appeared to me and helped me with his guidence so... Well this is 👍🙏✨✨✨ Jesus is great and I truly thank him for being there for all of us🙏✨✨✨

it was so heartbreaking watching nicodemus cry when he watched all of the disciples and Jesus leave after he decided he couldn't come along with them
I love how when Jesus calls Matthew, it begins with Matthew looking to Jesus, seeing him and watching Jesus begin to walk away. You can tell Matthew wants to go with Jesus, wants to know him, to be forgiven. But he doesnt know where to begin. Then Jesus turns to him and calls to him, saying "Follow Me. Matthew, though he wanted to do so, is confused. He doesn't understand why Jesus would choose him.
It is like how in life sometimes we want to turn to God and seek him, but we don't know where to begin. But God has called us, asked us to Follow Him. We all have the chance to seek him, to follow him, and to feel his love and forgiveness. All we have to do, is obey.

I was named for the Apostle John so he will always be my favorite. But Matthew's portrayal really glues this whole series together.

⁹ As JESUS went on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow Me,” He told him, and Matthew got up and followed Him. ¹⁰ While JESUS was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with Him and His disciples. ¹¹ When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” ¹² On hearing this, JESUS said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. ¹³ But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

I just love how he’s confident in the men he chose, and doesn’t doubt how different it would make him. He loves them all. I wish I could be that confident

Watching this makes me fall in love with Jesus all over again. He's the God who bends down to meet us where we are. He doesn't need us, but he wants us. If He calls you, follow Him.
Jesus calling Nathan scene is a favorite of mine. I love how Nathan's eyes went from confusion to submission within two seconds. Beautiful scene!

The Chosen was made for a time such as this in these last days. Allowing so many to see Jesus in the way the Father has always intended. In grace, truth and immense compassion. Makes me tear up every time I watch. I'm extremely grateful for the work the LORD is doing during through everyone.
Only God knows when the last times will be.

My absolute favourite, "follow me" is when Mathew is called. Jesus has to keep confirming that he really meant him. Mathew is so incredulous and wants to w/out hesitation, if only he can make sure Jesus really meant him. The disciples are trying to second guess Jesus' choice in Mathew. Of all the disciples, Mathew's calling touched me the most. Nathaniel would be a second.
Can’t get enough of these videos. My favorite scene is definitely Nathaniel. When Jesus says I didn’t turn my face from you..I saw you. Ok that’s when I totally lost it! 😭😭How many times I have thought did you hear me Lord. And YES He did He is right there with me.

I loved the acting from "Matthew," but I thrilled with goosebumps to the "come and see" moment and ugly-cried through the Nathaniel sequence.
Peter say “we waited for u for so long” resonates with me. Cant wait for the second coming in this teisted world. Matthews role in the chosen is delightful to watch.
Simon Peter’s conversion is still my favorite scene of the whole series. It shows God’s love for us while we are still sinners! A tear comes to my eye each time I see it.

I have watched Nathaniel's calling so many times. Coupled with the anguish of Nathaniel under the fig tree, and Nathaniel's conversation with Philip, Nathaniel's calling is so powerful.
I have watched Nathaniel's segment many times. I too, have had many moments of asking God if he's forgotten me but by same token ALWAYS thank him instantly when I KNOW he kept His eyes on me.
Many are called few are CHOSEN (Matthew 22:14) Thank God for his calling on my life, it's difficult at times but the holy spirit gets me through some of life's greatest difficulties. I was arrested for 6 months for a crime I didn't commit in 2020, I was falsely accused. During my time in jail God used me to save so many souls. There are times in life we may not understand the storms we face but God always has a significant reason for EVERYTHING, and when your following Christ you learn how to dance n the midst of lifes storms. I met some really phenomenal women while incarcerated and the power of God moved profoundly throughout the pod I was in. His ways aren't like ours. I had peace n joy during the experience because of Jesus Christ who lives inside of me. Praises to our King and savior 🙌🙌 He's truly my EVERYTHING, I LOVE HIM SOOOO MUCH❤️❤️❤️🙏✝️✝️

Like so many of the scenes, these brought tears to my eyes. Our Lord Jesus Christ came to me after a near death accident. He was only with me for a short period of time, long enough for Him to give me words that would help me navigate the challenges that would face me due to all the surgeries and traumatic brain injury.
He gave me a thirst of what our eternal life has that this life can never quench. He has also been right beside me to help me on my most challenging days. Thank you dear Lord Jesus Christ and God Bless and shine your glorious light on all you children.

@@sunnysoren4148 I believe that our Heavenly Father has shown you that He believes in you and that you are one of His chosen children. Like you, I too am a sinner, we all are. Never in my life did I open the bible and now I spend time every day learning all that I can about our Creator, the Father who gave me a second chance to find my way to the path that our Savior Lord Jesus Christ showed us.
When I am about to do, or say something that is less than admirable, I pause and ask myself if Jesus was present would I continue in the same way? That moment of pause is long enough to change what I was about to say, or do. The more I successfully change course, the less I am challenged by taking the sinful route. Just know that we are all challenged and the fact that you recognize that you are a sinner, the more likely it is that you will try to find your way the a better and happier way of enjoying life. Do you mean Mary was not an apostle? Jesus calls everyone to be his disciples, and all Christians should be his disciples. Nicodemus, Eden, and Zebedee are also examples of disciples.
Well she was a disciple. She wasn't an apostle. Men and women are called to be disciples unto the Lord. But women aren't called to preach over a body of believers, no matter what people say, scripture doesn't agree with them. We as women are disciples of Christ Jesus but not apostles or preachers. You can meet such a sweet hearted and genuine preacher that's a woman, but she's not under the anointing of the true Spirit of Jesus Christ.
I praise the ever loving God who sent his son to minister to us. What a loving gift that Gods only begotten was sent for our salvation. Praise God Jehovah and praise Christ Jesus who continues to do Gods will. We are loved!❤❤❤
Nathaniel's scene always brings me to tears. I've had many low moments throughtout my life, He has seen them all. I didn't know that until I became a Christian 2 years ago. I can't wait to see Him face to face and hear His voice. ❤ Matthew and Mary I can relate to as well.

Every single calling is unique and beautiful but the one for Nathaniel, that one hits me different, the words "I saw you" those words always make me cry, those are the words I hear the Lord saying to me too. IT IS JUST A PRECIOUS SCENE

The calling of Matthew is my favorite. Matthew was so surprised and did a mini jump back like what, me? You know my name? The only part I did not like is Simon Peter trying to stop it as if he was better than Matthew. That part makes me mad. lol Matthew is my favorite disciple in this series.
Philip is my second favorite. He's just completely down from the beginning and knew exactly what he was getting into. The most prepared disciple by far since he followed John. lol

Good choices for favorite disciple, but my favorite is Simon Z. The stark difference of what was prepared to do for Jesus, but then actually asked to do is so lovely and in spite of the stark difference, he (and Philip) seem to be the most understanding/accepting of their role/situation.
@@DarrenHughes-Hybrid Agreed. I adore Simon's character (and acting) because how he was able to resolve his murderous zeal by encountering Jesus's loving embrace and acts. It's hard to acknowledge and change your idea of right and what redemption looks like. I deeply resonate with that.

The Chosen is changing lives. God bless Dallas Jenkins and EVERYONE involved in this show. I am looking forward to Season 3, Season 4, Season 5, Season 6, Season 7, and beyond.
Man, I so love this show so much, for sooooo long I've been wrestling with the idea of how can I love God or how can I justify following Jesus or loving him... this show showed me a perspective of how worthy Christ is for my devotion and my life. Actually I'm the one who's not even worthy thinking that way. But he loves me inspite of my failure. I can only vow and offer my life to God. To God be the glory, and may he bless this show. I think this is a force for good.
We are all perfectly imperfect in his eyes! When He looks at me, He sees my heart not my shortcomings. I believe that is how He sees us all! All He wants is our heart. That line touched me so much.

To the Jews, working for the Romans was tantamount to treason because Rome was their oppressors. That's why Matthew was never invited anywhere for Shabbat. He was basically shunned.

My favorite scene was when Little James chose to carry his burden and heal others as a testimony of his faith in Christ.
I have mobility issues and often though God must needs me to be ill for some reason that I haven't realized yet. We learn and grow through our suffering .
That scene brought me to real deep tears ❤
Thank you Jesus for my burden, I will try and carry it with grace.

Those of us who have accepted Christ Jesus as our LORD and savior, are all called to be like the disciples. Jesus wants all of his fallowers to be like the disciples. Don't think you are not worthy to spread the gospel. Give up your fear of rejection by the world, the LORD in heaven Jesus, wants us, and wants us to be strong through him. Go out and spread the gospel to everyone, without fear, this can be a simple statement or a great sermon. We all possess the power through the Holy Spirit to bring the truth of the gospel to this world. God bless you all!!!

Oh, Nathaniel! My eyes welled up with tears right along with yours when Jesus said He didn’t turn His face from you, that He saw you under the fig tree. Such a moving scene!
I honestly believe something along this line actually happened between the real Jesus and Nathaniel; something must’ve occurred between them for Nathaniel to suddenly cry out, “Rabbi!” at his calling.
Love everything about each of these scenes. Jesus calls us right where we are!

As much as I love so many scenes of their collective calling and have my favorites, I identify with Andrew because he was so unsure of his worthiness and never got invited openly, it was just assumed he was one of the chosen at the time Simon was called. So many times in my life seemed by proxy until the last 10 years when my faith was validated more times than I could count. I now know in my soul that I am His!😇🙌
They are blessed to see Almighty Lord Jesus face to face, but I am sure of it that Almighty Lord Jesus is proud of all His Children
Matthew's eagerness to follow Jesus sets the example for us all. That's why Matthew was always my favorite character.

it feeds the soul,i watch the woman at the well when my blood pressure goes up,due to everyday life,when it goes off,my blood pressure is 125/80,perfect, like this show of gods love for the human race,sending his son,shows his love of the human race,being close to god in mind spirit and soul makes life worth living,i've checked this series,its running right along with biblical teaching,and its right on time for the harvest,we are in the end times,i've waited for it my whole life,the lord told me from child up,that i would be raptured up,and not to worry,NOT TO WORRY,WORRY IS SIN,WHEN YOU HAVE A SAVIOR WHO WILL DIE FOR YOU,ROMAN'S 10 -9-10 sends you home,the real one,the one we all are waiting for,its getting crazier here in the 21st century,where ever satan is,there'll be no peace,he is the destroyer,god bless all who watch this series and believe in the one who stilled the storms of life

My favourite scene in the entire show is Jesus calling Nathaniel ❤️
My favorite calling is Nathanael, but my favorite scene in the entire 3 seasons is Nicodemus crying at the well. His desire to go with Jesus and knowing he should, is being wrestled against his fear to let go of his life and give it to God.
I favorite would be when Jesus calls Simon, Matthew and Nathaniel. ❤❤👏👏👏👏

Mary is not an apostle! As I understand this is a video of desciples being called to follow Jesus. And the way they potray her is just artistic freedom not exactly Biblical but not against the Bible either. Just adding some things we don't know if actually had happened or not.

I am disputing a fact that she was given a far bigger role in the show then she was ever given in the Bible. But like I said, i respect their artistic freedom. I am just worried that some people won't open up their Bibles and actually read what happened in it's historical context, and that they will just blindly trust what is put in front of them and then get the whole Bible and its main idea wrong.
