For anyone Wondering, Yelan's design is based on the Hong Kong Gambling King Movies of the 80s.
More modern design, likely to symbolize Liyue moving to a new age.
Yelan's face when she sees the Cat Xiao Dice. And Xiao's menacing theme playing as cat Xiao attacks Itto.
This is perfection.
yelan is based on an aged up selee (possibly hinting at APHO selee) and her design is based on the high roller madames in casinos.
I thought of that as well.

I have to strongly disagree with the top comment which says Yelan's design was based on Hong Kong movies etc.
Yelan in Chinese can be direct translate to Night Orchids in English, the way it oriented is 99% related to Night Shanghai, which is an iconic cultural sign for Shanghai in 1940s. If you are wondering why, the pronunciation of Night Shanghai in Chinese is actually Ye Shanghai, which is matching my linguistic point, right? The phrase represents, as you may imagine from the letters, the corrupted upper class type of life, as every "exciting and fun" things hides from daylight and only happens during night time. The jazz music style also correspond to the famous song "Night Shanghai", which was made in that period (just before the PRC established)and was widely well-known in Chinese community, not just as a song but also the culture it represents.
There was no such things called "Night Hong Kong", and there was no jazz music as well-known as that song. You can found the song on UA-cam also, do a little google translate and you will see the result, press the listen button on the translated one, and then copy paste those Chinese characters in your search box. Play that song, and you will easily find out that both of my linguistic and musical points stands way stronger than that guy's claim :)
