Honestly the actors are such sweethearts undeserving of all the flack I see especially internationally because of the storyline. They are always joking about the bullying from his older Brothers but Michael is the first one to strengthen his Di Di's back if he has a hard time. (edited to clarify)
I didn't know they were getting bullied because of it. Oh my, that is most unfortunate. Viewers need to realise that these are actors portraying a role, doing their jobs. They had little to no say in the direction the story would take them. Honestly, I am not a fan of the whole _'stepbrothers to lovers'_ storyline either; but, they have been doing a great job. I quite enjoy watching them, I just pretend their relationship was different.
@@JKLoans oh no don't misunderstand, it probably doesn't even reach them, but if I am looking at international fans posts or previews I get the feeling that they naturally absolutely hate the storyline (I was sooo mad about the consent question). It can get really heated there. Also their first and only impression of wico is "ah that creep/ra****" because they don't understandably even bother to in any way look further into the actor as they skip their parts because they hate it- a lot. As you have said they don't really see the actor in the role just doing their job. The bullying I mentioned was a separate thing from them getting flak for the storyline. They are always joking about it in interviews that Charles and Michael with the help of Anson and others are ganging up on their little brother, but you can see that especially Michael always has his back and gives him advice about their career etc.
@@mi6Chii I've noticed it too it's funny how they are upset at the content of the storyline bit don't seem to have with the other HIStory dramas that dealt with stepbrothers falling in love and the sort hypocritical really.
@@BTSisMyUniverse68 I get their concerns honestly because of how young yongjie was when they became brothers (plus what I personally found much more problematic is the consent question cause why), but the storyline shouldn't make someone disregard them doing their best in their given roles. There were also some that didn't like the stepbrother couples in the other history dramas, but there I didn't get the problem at all as they were friends before a lot longer than they were brothers. They didn't grow up as bros it's another situation altogether.
Actually, I'm guessing in the initial stage of its releasing and promotion they were the main couple and Lichen and Muren were like the second main couple but now because of the backlash they got [for the storyline] somehow the authorities of the show is taming the situation down by making it feel like the second main is the main. And yes, both the couples go simultaneously, so there's basically no reason to think one is more important than the other. But I understand your confusion.
You have to love Wico he is a young man but he is a cute child the same time.....he is so sweet....I like it when both watch their love scenes and get shy and blush. They are real sweethearts....hope we see them again acting together.As for Wico was the youngest actor in "Close to you" in my opinion he played his character in the film to the best, he is a great actor with a lot of potential. Can’t pretend I’m the biggest fan of their storyline. It just didn’t hit the mark for me, but the actors offscreen are fun to watch and they seem to have really good chemistry. I hope they do another series together.
I cannot pretend that I particularly enjoy the _'stepbrothers to lovers'_ storyline and I don't feel _'the incident'_ was properly addressed, but I quite enjoy watching these two. They are quite lovely.
I really love both couples immensely!! I loved!!! Li Chieng (Wilson) who is SO handsome, yet so gentle, funny, so cute....like a big puppy, so honest and genuine, and Teng Teng adds the perfect spice. But I identify a lot with this secondary couple as they are more quiet, serious natured, introspective and wounded.....I really fell in love with Fungjie! 💖 I will be watching this series many many times in the years to come, this one really stays in your heart! I'm so sad to see these "friends" that I love go.

They would have gotten more love if that one scene wasn't there..Thier character development was amazing. People just skipped thier entire storyline and find fault in every single thing about them.. Honestly LiCheng and Teng's chemistry is good but thier storyline doesn't make sense. There are 2 completely straight dudes who suddenly catch feelings because a girl shipped them? Atleast it should be platonic, sexual attraction was even more unrealistic.

No. In fact, it's probably true that neither of them is even gay. There's very few (out) gay actors who did a Taiwanese gay drama. I think just one or two have done that.
